OneUp for me. Year later it still works great and it’s been through all seasons and very very muddy rides. Had to put air in it twice but it’s been flawless otherwise.

Could only fit a 125 in the Trek before and now I have a 150 so happy!

Ordered a chase vest from Merlin. Decent enough price!

How does the stash feel with a bladder in? Does it pull it down at the front or make it feel uncomfortable?

Does it take any bladder or are there certain recommendations that fit better?

I gave the USWE a 2 hour ride today. After adjusting it the fit was ok but for me it took the pressure off shoulders but could really feel the strap on my chest and tonight I feel a bit bruised.

Going to look at the vests and other alternatives above.

Tried the Airbourne 3 and couldn’t get a good fit. With straps on smaller loops it was way too tight. On larger loops too loose.

Tried some my old camel ones on and nothing seems that comfortable. Maybe I need to look at something that takes it off my shoulders or some kind of vest or belt as mentioned above.

I think there are a few different caliper shapes – could be wrong, but I do have teh silver spacers! Will go pick up a set of ball ends after work as local halfords have a set:

@akers I was considering a Hip Pack, but guess its one of those things you need to try! Does it feel bulky when its not full of gear?

    @whatyadoinsucka

Which one have you got? is it the older version or one of the new ones?

Think I might try the Airbourne 3 older version. New one out doesnt look much improved for the extra price apart from a phone pocket and older one is a lot cheaper!

Atually new one has a bigger bladder, magnetic tube tube clip and phone pocket too. Looks a bit nicer too… but

    £115 vs £70!!!

The official guide also says to set the lever at 75-80cm from Centre of bar. Stick with that theory?

Mboy still do this with pads out and bleed block inserted?

Thank you! Will try that method which differs from the sram guide!

No cutting or disconnecting. Brakes were a bit spongy. Front one now no sponge. Rear one… made worse than when I started!

Had mine for 3 years and ride in it all year round until the hot days (blue one).

Zips under arms, fold small enough for a pack. Waterproof and breathable.

Been so good up until I got mangled in a tree full of thorns and ripped the sleeve.

Ordered another one over the weekend!

Airbourne 3 is the same as the 2 with the added pouch I think.

Seen Airbourne 3 pretty cheap so might give it a go!

There is a new version of the Airbourne 3 coming with new features but not sure what they are lol.

Old one is going cheaper now though.

That piggy pack idea looks decent. I have seen some bikers with these small bags strapped down in that position but never really knew what to google!

Dakine Hot Laps Gripper Bag seems to do the same sort of thing?

Will have a look at that one. It’s on a Trek Fuel – so it’s got room but not too much!

To be honest my overall water intake has not been up to par but now I’m on a health kick and making sure I’m fully hydrated through the day.

It will be interesting if this changes how much water I will need on rides. I would much rather take a bottle sometimes, especially when it gets a bit hotter!

Need to see what size bottle will fit in the frame.

Guess I drink too much when riding. During a hot 2 hour ride up and down the hills I go through my 2L pack!

I set my Trek up using the figures on the website as you put your weight in etc and it tells you the advised settings. I then adjusted from there until it felt right.

Even the smallest of changes can feel so much different.

Been using EVOC pack come long or short rides, summer or winter. I just find myself needing more water than just a bottle for my usual 2 hour rides.

I always keep my small tool kit and something to eat in the pack in case of emergencies. Its quite slimline too. Just wash the bladder out after each ride and pop it in the freezer.

    Thanks for the tip all.

For the people laughing at me. I did say a couple of hours plus. I didn’t say actually 2 hours. I didnt specify it was gels, just mentioned them – was just asking what people would recommend.

And yes I do rides straight from work sometimes and yes after a couple of hours I need a boost. Not all our bodies are temples and at my age I feel a boost would do me the world of good mid/late on duringa ride.

More likely to be bars I think – Torq ones look ok, but might try the lidl ones as have one next door! Edit… its Aldi that sells the Hike bars.. whoops!

Flapjack definitely cheaper choice than the energy gels!

    Did see these on offer…

Yeah did find it in a kit, but it was £24 I think!

Will get some Gotilla tape today and maybe clean it out with cleaner and cotton buds!

Looks nice but a little expensive! I got the oneup one with my oneup dropper and it seems s decent bit of kit (on a bearing also).

I love my Renthal Carbon bars. Used to run them with an Apex Stem and had no issues what so ever, but now run them on the Bontrager Stem.

“I’m liking the look of those. Had GA2s before but the fat ones look mint.”

I really like me – the end caps are now replaceble incase of any crash damage!

I find them much better than the regular GA2 withought being too big.

I use GA2 Fat grips – really like em.

I’m trying some TLD speeds alongside the IXS Flow so will report back!

    jayx2a

Tried some POC ones and didnt really fit my legs very well.

Ordered the IXS Flow in both L and XL to try as the reviews say snug. XL were ok but if the bed in and get any looser they would be too big so large was a better fit.

However the zips are a bit fiddly so have ordered a large pair without zips.

TLD speeds look pretty good, but think will stick with the IXS ones now.

I have the Fuel, so not really comparable. However, it has been the most fun I have had on a bike for a long time and been very impressed with the fit and finish.

    I’m 5ft 11 on a 18.5 2018 Fuel and I like the size, previous 19.5 felt a little big.

Ok I think the RRP has been sold well enough of here, will get one sorted!
