It’s annoying that it’s also not all the time! Some hills yes, some hills no!

I kind of hoped it did it all the time to be able to figure it out quicker!

Will check bearings and grease up!

Changed the stem today and all torqued up correct. It only happens on pedal strokes. Time to start cleaning and refitting.

It was happening with old stem too.

Does it both seated and standing
It’s Eagle GX and cant from what I can there are no chain ring bolts as it’s all one piece?
Pedals are tight – but can try some others to see what happens
Think rear axle is all good but will double check.

Bottom bracket is 18 month old SRAM gxp press fit so could need changing.

Will try one thing at a time!

Tried the decathlon ones and the silicon strip around the legs felt terrible and could feel it irritating my skin straight off. Pain in the ass being allergic to the stuff.

Ended up getting some Endura single track II shorts and liners from wiggle. They worked out cheaper than buying just the liners.

Find the click fast system a bit useless though as you have to adjust both short and liner at same time and was more comfortable without clipping them in.

So are we talking these ones?

    Rather than the DHB undershorts:

Actually just read one says 7 hour pad and the other 2 hour so must be quite different!!!

Will have a look at the Nukeproof one too.

Will have a look at all the suggestions! I’m not anal about a bit of run marks etc. Just want it to be solid and stay put!

I could just keep it on the frame but I think it’s just not quite in a decent space!

I have tried a few now.

Tried the Camelpak and found the straps a bit strange, They have integrated the straps with the straps to tighten the load and found it really difficult to lossen the bugger at all round my waist! Also – the bladder is not the easiet to get out and due to teh massive opening and plastic cap it takes up so much room!

The Dakine 5L is actually the most comfortable – the clip sitting at the side seems to make it better as I find the centre clips dig in a bit.

I have added a bottle to the bike now which allows me to just keep the bladder a bit lower and have also got a dakine 2L when I want to go no bladder!

Elite XC was not good. Bottle didn’t feel tight at all and rattled around a bit.

People not getting on with the Zee then?

Didn’t realise Bontrager did very similar one. Should of got that one!

Total opposite for me. The zee cage II holds on to the podium far better than the elite prism and the XC one.

The Elite Fly bottle just seems to crumple and does not hold any shape. It’s just too thin!!

I now have a zee cage on and where as before the podium dirt 620 was tight I can now get it in with ease.

The zee cage really does hold very well.

It will also take the 710 podium bottles. Will I genuinely notice an extra 90ml on a ride?! Is that like 3 gulps extra?!

Went in to Evans and they had 2 left which was handy as website said none in stock when I did stock check.

I did try the elite XC and prism but the zee is just better. Happy!

    £50?! Ouch.

Roll Cage is a bit on the ugly side.. as cages go!

Bontrager do one I see and elite do a prism one. No idea if either of them are solid options!

    One Up user here.

Been great for past 18months – just needed an air top up.

Has the smallest insertion length of most droppers which allowed me to fit a 150 where as all other makes I could only do 125.

    Pretty solid with no play.

Looked at the elite fly ones too. They seemed a little too thin!

I tried the fidlock twist this weekend. Luckily when I knocked it with my leg and it flew off it didn’t disappear too far!

    Going back to a cage!

Can’t assist in the drop of travel question but…

    2018 Fuel EX8 29er
    Size 18.5

    Previous Bike
    2016 Fuel EX9 27.5
    Size 19.5

    Love it!
Very capable, good up and good down. It’s taken some abuse and a bit of lack of TLC and its not let me down. I have upgraded the stem/bars/pedals/brakes and thats about it. My RE:activ shock has been spot on and the Fox Rhythm 34 Float is pretty decent.

    Downsides:
Suspension mounts started creaking like a bitch, but this has now been sorted.
Questionable Dropper post and was only 125mm due to the bend in the seat tube. However, the oneup 150mm fitted like a charm.

Just bumping an old thread! Any feedback on the Fidlock Twist bottle? Could really do with a cap when the mud gets going and that ‘gravity’ strap seems a bit of an afterthought?

Its either this or a side entry cage from Elite or Specialized.

I think if a bum bag fits you and stays put they are great.

Even with mine slipping a little it just feels much better than having a pack on.

I mean this is all kit dependent.

Im going to try the Repack and see how it feels, and also the Bonty Rapid pack and take a bottle on that and a bottle on the frame – therefore giving me around the same amount of water as wouldnt fill up the bladder on the Camel.

Either way I’m not going back to a pack now!

Interested in this too. I still want something with ok grip but do find my HR2 a bit draggy – would like something a bit less draggy but not too extreme!!

I tested mine just too see how it coped with 2L of water (or more how it felt!). It was not too bad all things considering, but not something I would choose to do!

I am trying to decide what to take on London to Brighton so going through various tests and bags too see whts most comfortable.

I’m trying the Bontrager Rapid Pack next trip out. I think most rides I do 2 bottles will be enough. Plus i know there is a drinking tap somewhere close to the middle of all my rides – just need to find it!!

I find the Dakine a bit tricky to tighten when on due to it just having a side clip and only one strap to clinch tighter.

The bladder is good as I replaced the standrad hose with a quick release version – not something you can do with the Repack?

Still tempted to try one though – looks like it might be a better shape and more comfortable than the Dakine. Only 1 way to find out I guess!!

I think no matter what – some people will get slippage!

Anyone tried both the Camel and Dakine? I like the Dakine, but also wondering how the Camel feels compaared and like the side pockets.

My Dakine 5L needs the odd adjustment on route but it pretty much stayed put for 14miles today. Most of the time I kinda forgot I had it on

I’m overweight but misses has always said I have bony hips so maybe that helps!

Looked at the Decathlon ones last night – semed ok, but not 100% convinced on the pad.

GORE stuff looks nice, but expensive, but as long as it lasts a while im not too fussed!

I have been using the choc fudge bars and wanted to try all the flavours so got the multi pack so can sample them all! Never tried gels before so got a pack to try befor commiting to a bigger pack!

Wont the solid disc heat up too much?

Much like car brakes – high performance ones are drilled and grooved for better performance?

I had Uberbike Race Matrix in my Guides and they were spot on. My Guide RS came with pads and at the moment they are doing a decent job, but when they need replacing I will porbably go Matrix again.

I went from Sram Gyude R’s to RS and added a 203mm up front and kept the 180mm rear. The stopping power is pretty damn good TBH!

Just check with Gore and both shorts have Mesh insert. The difference is the padding.

    C5 Pad:

    Advanced Men + Women

Advanced level seat inserts with a medium density foam offer a great protection and comfort while being light and breathable. A two-layer foam construction with specifically developed supporting zones reduces pressure on soft tissue and increases blood flow in critical areas even on longer rides.

+ Windstop – INNOVATIVE SEAT INSERT TECHNOLOGY

Developed for ultimate comfort and protection, this new seat insert technology takes cycling to the next level and allows cyclists to head out straight into the elements.
    CLIMATE CONTROL

Protection against the cold and wind-chill
Increased breathability and enhanced moisture management for year-round cycling

    PRESSURE RELEASE

Unique, pre-formed cup prevents unwanted compression
Ensures optimum comfort and support for anatomical space

    C3 Pad:

    Active Men + Women

A single-layer with a less dense foam construction is used in Active level seat inserts. These inserts are scientifically developed for all cycling activities and offer the needed comfort and protection for either mountain bike, roadbike or fitness rides.

Just found the gore liners. Anyone know difference between c5 and c3. C5 ones seem to refer to all day riding?

My Endura ones are comfortable to wear but then become uncomfortable after a bit in the saddle. Being the basic ones, the padding just seems to be a bit of foam – and it goes flat quite quickly!

At least the decathlon ones look like something that might last a bit longer.

Payday next week so will get round to ordering some of these!

Anyone know what the decathlon pad is rated for hours in the saddle wise? I was looking at the SingleTrack Liner Short – wondering of the padding is similar.

Was also looking at the DHB Aeron bib and non bib versions to try. – not sure how well these work under bagies though.

I think the EVOC one is £50 without the baldder.

I have been using teh Dakine Hot Laps 5L which is the same price with a bladder. Its very stable, but its double what you want to pay.

However – I still think its worth considering!

Lobo looks like a good size. Not too small and not too big! Looks a bit smaller than the Mule.
