Bars are 20mm rise so could try some 30mm ones. Bars are lower than saddle. Especially when I fully weighted in seat.

I still have the original 60stem which I know isn’t much longer but will stick that on and raise the stem up and then ride again!

It came with a 60mm stem and 740 bars. It probably looks even smaller as I’m carrying too much bulk! I’m not even sure the next size up would look much better looking at the stats!

2 LBS put me on that frame so maybe it’s bad angles too!!

Next size up is 15mm extra reach. Not that I can change up now!

I can put stem back up and see what happens. Lower saddle a bit. Would 1 degree extra back sweep make much of a difference?

Oh no that’s not my riding position in first pic. I was just showing with heel on pedal not riding position if that makes sense.

I put the bars down one spacer just as I thought It would work better with the 50mm stem. But that was just something I read online! Oops!

The bars are slightly different too. I had 7 degree back sweep Renthals that needed replacing so borrowed some raceface bars which are 8 degree back sweep. Would like make much of a difference? Both 760mm 20mm rise. 5mm up

2nd ride out and not so good. Half way through a 7mile ride my sit bones were burning. I’m not sure if the saddle is too narrow or it’s just too hard!

Well I did loads of stripping down and re greasing on Friday and I didn’t appear to have any creaks today! It was only 5 miles so will go for a longer ride tomorrow and see if it returns!

So first ride out. Just a small 5mile ride through the forest.

Initial feelings were it was narrow. As my sit bones are near the top of the small/medium size I did feel they were quite close to the edges. But saying that I have been riding a WTB pure which is 148mm compared to this 138mm Ergon.

Saying that the smaller size allowed full freedom of movement with zero feeling of any chaffing and the cut out and middle channel relieved any pressure.

It’s quite firm, but it’s brand new and I am wearing rather knackered padded Endura shorts where the padding has worn so thin they really don’t do much!

The wider version is 154mm I think which is even wider than the Pure so probably too wide!

Longer ride out tomorrow so will feedback again as it might help any potential buyers!

I think it’s the width. I’m at the top end of the SM so ML might have been better. Will find out shortly!!

Will feedback after ride out tomorrow. Hope it doesn’t kill my back side as it just looks narrow. But it’s the size Ergon recommended!

Got the Ergon today. Feels very narrow compared to my WTB pure but the size guide put me on the S/m so it might just take some getting used too.

If it’s not great I will try the wider one or the 611.

@Poopscoop was out on a wet ride (well sloppy mud ride) at the weekend and TBH I don’t remember it making any noise, which is odd.

Creak was there before and after new BB. New one is Hope, old one SRAM.

It had a new BB fitted this week and all is good in that area so a knackered BB has been ruled out!

Ok, I have 2 things as above to try!

Rear Mech Hanger looks easy enough to take off and clean I think even with my lack of skills!

I have QR rear axle – so guess its worth checking that its clean and tight.

Oh, just to add, I’m pretty sure its only doing it in the lowest 2 gears.

Not really seen them any cheaper other than when new models were coming out.

Don’t go by there ‘stock’ or ‘lead times’.

I have had 2 issues recently and will not use them again.

I see the small bolts are 1.5nm too – wrench only goes down to 3. How tight is 1.5nm? Not very I imagine?

Renthal actually said to use my phone and angle app and on a flat twist them until the app reads the upsweep correct!

Ordered and went with the 2.1 actuator as was same price. I’m presuming it’s a separate part and needs installing as per OP.

I only have torque wrench so can you just tighten the 17mm wrench and just not over tighten?!

Ok so quick update. BB was changed as was due a new one anyway. Chainring bolts regreased and tightened to torque spec.

    Seat post checked, headset checked.

Not taken it for a long ride but I think it might still have a creak!

Going to check all pivot bolts tomorrow and take her for a proper spin.

This should work on my Trek Fuel I think. Even my 150mm version 1 is pretty tight with the cable in the centre.

    Thanks for the feedback!

I might order both and try them on the bike at home to see how they feel.

Tried the Adidas and not a great fit. Specialized 2FO fit great through. Not 100% sold on the quality but they are a good fit!

I have had an Ergon SM saddle on back order for 2 months. I have given up waiting now and started to look for alternatives.

New fiveten I tried were definitely narrower.

They have changed the sizing I’m sure. My 2 year old ones are a UK8 US9. The new ones are UK8 US8.5 which falls in line with Adidas.

Looking at the Terrax as well as the Specialized. If you look at the length in cm the Terrax is quite a small size 8 compared to the Specialized size 8.

OneUp was the only 150 I could get to fit my Trek Fuel due to the kink in the seat tube. Tried a few otheres but not the PNW. Only 125mm from most other companies seemed to fit. Stack height of the OneUp is really small though.

What have they done on the V2 to improve?

VXi are a bit bulky for me – those specialized ones look pretty good though. Will have a look at them too.

Are they true to size as I cant find them in half sizes!

Going to order the Terrax and some Freerider non Pro ones – maybe the DLX ones for a bit of extra waterproofing!

Terrex look ok. They true to size? Seem to be sold out most places but wiggle have an 8 left lol

I usually ride local trails so dont bother with a tube. However if I am going out for a longer ride where I could end up 10 miles from home I strap a tube to the frame with CO2 + Lifeline inflater and tubes using a frame strap.

Yep my 2 year old pro’s are the same UK8 US9. But 2019 versions are UK8 US8.5 and clearly shorter.

No idea why they have changed the Uk to US sizing but they have changed the sizing for 2019 model. Can’t comment on 2018 ones though!

My last pair were after Adidas took over. Just a bit odd that the US/UK sizing has changed.

Side by side the 2019 version is just shorter. Can’t see any other difference though. Have ordered half size up so will see if they match my old pair.

Ok in answer to my own question, the old pros are longer than the new pros by surprise surprise about half a size.
