Didn’t even put it in the bike forum so can’t be that serious!

If you use your bike regularly, enjoy it and can afford it then why not!

I bought a small 45650B frame off a bloke, he bought a small, medium and large and just moved the kit along as his kid outgrew frames.

Be careful of leaving any personal details such as phone numbers, face book account as you want to minimise comeback. I’d also be careful if you contact the police how you word your intentions. I wouldn’t go threatening violence against the thief but claim more that you want to prevent a breach of the peace.

I’m just doing a conversion and my budget is pretty tight. I’ve bought a kit from these guys that I’ve almost finished fitting it. If you drop them an email with your requirements they can produce a bespoke wiring loom with sockets etc.

Depends on the time of year but anywhere between 2 to 5 times per week. I like playing other sports so biking sometimes goes on the back burner.

Took my missus to Leeds Urban Bike Park a few weeks ago and she loved it. The features on the downs can all be rolled but after an hour she was quite happy doing some of the smaller jumps. There’s a trail that runs straight through the middle which is easy to pedal back up. Leeds school aren’t off this week so it should be pretty quiet.

All vans will have their issues, as long as you do your research and buy the best Movano your budget will allow. Ensure it’s mechanically ok prior to the conversion.
I’m just putting the finishing touches to my vivaro conversion.

Some good snaps there Tracey, how did your daughter get on?
It was my first PMBA event Jordan, really enjoyed it, think the key is at my level to do it with similar ability mates.

I was the guy doing most of the stages with my eyes shut…. managed 13.04 in total which put me 67/95 in my category. Was happy just to finish (and beat 2 of my mates).

Just stalked you.. I was just behind you at the start of stage 4, you had a conversation with my mate about taking a dog on the stage in your backpack….

Done events like Ard Rock, Boltby, Ard Moors but the riders at this event seemed to be on another level.
Really enjoyed it though and the good weather was a plus!

Wasn’t keen on the young lad in the father and son team at first but he just got better and better as the journey went on. Was disappointed he didn’t win.

    Good News….

Just had an email regarding another change to the pricing structure. The wristband for non riders that were to be bought to enter the event village have now scrapped and the pricing is to be $6 per person per night. This seems much more reasonable and its nice to see the good people at Ard Rock have listened to the people that have made the event what it is today!

    Bad News….

I need to wait for my second refund and book camping for a 3rd time! Can’t grumble at that though really!

Did mine last summer, it’s an on going project at the moment.
Bought my carpet from Harrison’s trim supplies as they are pretty local to me and went to a local flooring place for some vinyl to lay on the floor.

Pretty standard on most bikes now but I quite often change the height of my saddle with the dropper post to prevent my back from going stif.

    I’ll be there.

Both rides take place Sunday so you can practice on the Saturday although stage 3 is usually closed so is ridden blind on race day. Hope the weather is as good as last year!

Paisley are good but already said it will need to packaged. Think postage prices start at about £24 But this doesn’t give you much cover if there is any damage. If the bike is of a high value and you really want it then it might be worth the trip.

If you have already paid for your camping drop the guys at Ard Rock an email and they will arrange a refund of the difference now that prices have been amended.

Tickets now back on sale at a lower price and also discount for single occupancy pitches and booking multiple nights. They are also allowing people that live within a certain distance free wrist bands to the event village.

Simon – looking at this thread there can’t be many people for whom the camping will be cheaper with the new pricing…
Last year at £5pppn it was £30 for me and my partner, this year the same duration is costing £64 with her entry to the event village.

Well I’m glad it wasn’t just me thinking I was being tight. I really like the event and the feel but have feared for the last couple of years that something like this might happen. It still might offer value to some… a family of four would pay a very similar price to 1 lone rider/camper for their pitch and entry to the village but I think this could very well be my last Ard Rock which is a shame as we have about 5 regulars with partners a kids but the price is now just too much. I have no doubt that they will still fill all the racing slots but the whole event/vibe will definitely change. Met some great people there over the years.

I also have a ticket for Ard Moors so might have my pants pulled down again later in the year….

Yep that’ll cost your wife £16 to get into the event village, get her to wave you off from the roadside and save some money.

Bet they enforce the no BBQs too again to try and get more custom from the food stalls. I know it was dry last year but be interesting to see how that works out this year…

Holy smoke, as much as I like this event I think 2019 will be my last, camping tickets have now been released. This first year I took part it was £5 flat rate. Year after it was £5 per person per night. Just looked to book me and the missus on Fri to Mon and it’s £48 + I need to buy her a ticket for the event village as she is a non rider. You could argue it’s cheap for a festival but I’d argue it’s expensive for camping with basic facilities when I’ve paid entry to the event already. People’s thoughts, am I being tight?

Yes, the membership carries 15% discount at Halfords which is useful

I have been on two trips as a member of staff both of which were a two week duration (India & Morocco). They involved…. acclimatisation to the country, voluntary work, expedition such as trekking the tea plantations or summitting Toubkal, R&R. A 4 week stint would be pretty tough, the kids i’ve worked with have just about had enough at the end of the 2 weeks.
Students fund raise in various ways, bag packs, sponsored walks, washing cars at school, sweet stalls, race nights, curry nights etc. If some students are struggling we will help them out in school where we can. Due to the demographics of the school we find some parents just pay for the trip whilst others fund raise the entire amount. My observation would be that the students that fund raise get more from it.
We use a company called outlook, very good and very professional. They have an ops room in the UK that is manned 24/7, they also have people in country that they can call on if they encounter any problems. We had a schedule and were required to check in on certain days. Other safety measures included a very comprehensive first aid certificate and a direct contact number for a doctor. As well as myself and another staff member from the school the expedition was lead by a member of staff from outlook, usually somebody that is ML qualified.
Most of your questions will be answered at the presentation evening but as suggested try and find first hand information such as blogs etc.

Any frame can fail, had a 10 year old zaskar snap on the rear stays but also had a 2 year old ghost also snap a rear stay too.

PMBA Gisburn – sold out. Boltby Bash is a great event still quite small and very friendly – sold out, Ard Rock now has a few events that are shorter such as the sprint or the intro but again it’s sold out. You might be lucky enough to get a ticket if somebody bails.

Yeah tonnes of stuff in bingley, st Ives, baildon and beyond.
Stainburn can easily be added to, there’s plenty more out towards swinsty.
