I find my hardtail really comes into it’s own in the winter as quite often after a ride it might be a few days before it gets washed, if I had to leave the full susser like that I’m sure it would take its toll.
I’m a convert to the brand x dropper, mine has developed some play but its had zero maintenance done in 2 years.
Yours will be a 30.9, crc are selling brand x posts for £99.99 at the moment.
Yes the 2019 event did sell out with a couple of hours, the year before however tickets could still be had months afterwards. Unfortunately demand far outstrips supply which can be said about most of these events.
Yes i think i’d agree that most are stripped and frames disposed of as that is the easiest part to trace/identify. A few mates have had bikes stolen and they have never emerged again although one mate who had a bike stolen ended up buying his back for £150 as it was the easiest/cheapest option.
Cheaper bikes – gumtree. Some people hate it but I’ve done well in the past.
I find Pinkbike good and very easy to use. I refrain from adding my phone number as that means only PB users can contact you which weeds out timewasters as they must create a profile if they want to contact you and dont have one.
They kindly transferred my ticket to next year but I haven’t got the date of the event, anybody got any info on which weekend Ard Rock will take place?
Another one for Brentacre, as mentioned any mods you just ring them to let them no and there is no cost involved unless it improves performance of greatly increases the price.
Probably not any on at this time of year but theres some great events which would be a good place to get started. I went to Buttermere Bash at Easter with a friend who is into paramotoring. Full of friendly folk.
What sort of info are you after? The stages are fairly well spread out. In the past the most popular spectator stage has been what I think is stage 5. It is closest to camp and starts on a hill overlooking the camp and finishes in the valley bottom.
I’d be tempted to give it a little longer, this might allow you time to build up relations with staff and students which will hopefully be positive.
If you do decide to move on then I’d be honest about your current role. Its surprising who knows who in education and getting found out could have a negative impact on any applications you submit.
I had a very similar failure to that many years ago on my GT Zaskar, it was the first Zaskar frame to have disc mounts and did not have the appropriate amount of bracing/reinforcement. To be fair the frame failed after about 6 years.
That shouldn’t happen on a modern frame.
I can see your thinking, if your travelling to pick the bike up you might aswell make the most of the journey.
I’m always very wary when buying a used bike and usually do a loop local to home to check all is well. If you do a trail centre on the way home just make sure you are well tooled up. If the centre has a skills loop near the carpark I’d spend 30 minutes in there just to check the bike is ok.
