My role in secondary school is a pastoral role… I’m working with year 7 this time and will move up through the year groups with them.
Definately let the school know and send them the screenshots. These can be logged incase they are needed at a later date. Friendships in year 7 breakdown and reform on an hourly basis so I wouldn’t worry about it. Within my year 7 I am not aware of any pupils that do not have any friends. Covid has made it a bit tougher on socializing but most kids are pretty good at finding friends.

I’ll catch up with the podcast at the weekend.
Been keeping tabs on the thread out of interest as I’ve got afro-Caribbean heritage.
All the lads I ride with are all white any strangely enough it was me that got most of them into biking. We do local ish events such as boltby bash, ard rock and pmba and it is surprising at how little representation there is from the BAME community. I do think it’s on the up but the growth is very small.

Usually moulded studs are ok, metal studs are no.

I’d double check that they are insured if you store them outdoors. Some insurance companies require specific locks to be used.

It’s a great spot. Some great clifftop strolls if the weather allows and a stroll along the beach to the Ty Coch Inn is a must.

And make sure her bike is in tip top condition. A sure fire way to put her off is to let her ride an old rusty bike pulled from the back of the shed.

I do very similar riding to you and also wanted a bike that could handle a few enduros each year. Budget was limited so I went for the 2020 spectral AL5 , it now has 160 upfront but still 150 at the rear. All the events I had booked for this year were cancelled so not really ridden in anger yet but am happy with it.

Edit – I may have misread and you already have a current spectral… ignore my useless advice

Not really local but will keep my eyes peeled. Facebook, ebay and gumtree are worth monitoring. Gumtree and ebay you can set alerts so if a transition patrol or something similar is advertised you’ll receive an email.

Budle bay is pretty basic but ok as a base, we spent 2 nights there. We walked the back lanes and trails to bamburgh and spent the day in bamburgh (pub lunch, ice cream, walk around the exterior of the castle, beach time. We then walked back along the beach as the tide allowed but worth checking tide times.
The small hamlet of Ross has a footpath that leads to a great secluded beach although we dis it on a grey day, it may get busy when the suns out.

All the sites I’ve stayed at lately were allowing tents.
Catgill and studfold farm – north yorks
Walkmill and Budle Bay – Northumberland.

Email received today. They have stuck with the Sept date for 2021.

Cancelled, now taking place in sept 2021. It’s the right thing to do as I suspect we may have a spike in Sept when schools return.

I’m pretty steady but take the odd tumble still. A few years ago I had a summer where I couldn’t stay on the bike!
Was at Leeds Urban Bike Park today, never seen as many people fall off.

If your on facebook theres a spectral owners page that might be of use.

Don’t do it. Plenty of good people on there but you just never know. I have also heard of profiles being hacked. Not sure if theres any truth in this but not worth the risk.

You don’t NEED one but the trouble is once you’ve ridden with one I do think they make rides more fun. I’ll probably never ride without one now!

I was between sizes and advised to go large rather than medium. Swapped the dropper from 150mm to a 120mm and the bikes spot on.

Right at the top of the budget but that sort of cash would buy your daughter a new canyon spectral.

I’ve got one of those Csnuon posts, you need to factor in the cost of the cable and lever too. Still quite cheap though.

We’ve got a weekend booked at catgill campsite near bolton abbey, friends tried to book on but it was full. One of the problems is some sites are only renting out every other pitch to promote distancing. Not in the Dale’s you mentioned but I quite like studfold in nidderdale.

I extended the cables on my pretensioners after forgetting to unplug them one day and snapping the cable. Now the cable is long enough to allow the seats to be in the swivel position. No carpet trimming was required on my particular van and it does make a huge difference.

This video on kiravans applies to the T5 but gives you an idea.

I have a swivel base on my vivaro double passenger seat. It cost £250 and took about an hour to fit.

Brentacre are pretty good. They also no additional cost for modifications aslong as they dont increase the value or bhp significantly.

Rather than worrying about the remainder I’d be more concerned about the builders health.

Kiravans are pretty good and quite hands on. They have a few demo videos but can’t find one that would be of use to you. I’m sure if you give them a call they can supply you with some info.

I saw a chap last week on a road bike having bother, stopped to check he was ok and he said he was fine.
Years ago in oz whilst driving a roadie flagged us down in the middle of nowhere, ended up giving him a lift to his holiday home and having coffee and cake with his family.

I’ve sold a few bikes on gumtree in various conditions. If your honest and price accordingly you wont have any problem. Used bikes seem to be fetching good money at the moment.

Leisure lakes is on a mates s**t list as he placed an order which has been ‘delivered’. He can’t get hold of them. Could be a simple mistake or an error on the couriers part but gets you thinking when you come across a thread like this.
