Changed mine out for a token ninja, the hardest part was identifying the correct one.

I usually park at swinston/frewston and do a mixture of stainburn and timble along with a run of the yorkshire water trail.

Just made the one visit but plan to head back in the spring, really enjoyed my day there, had a pedal to Hovingham using bridleways for lunch.

Got one of the Samsung ones after a mate lost his car keys at Boltby Bash. Not really needed it yet but used the function where you press the button and locate your phone.

Boltby is great for a first timer. It’s Ard Moors soon, you might get lucky if somebody is selling a ticket (I just sold mine last week).

Did the Sunday Intro, done it a few times and it’s just long enough for me. Seemed to be more people out of their depth this year than previous years.
After stage 4 reopened once the incident was sorted the Marshal sent about 90 riders down in quick succession. It caused havoc and I’m surprised it didn’t cause further incidents.
Overall another good weekend, did the demo loop a few times on ebikes which kept me off the beer a bit longer.

Some great info which is much appreciated. I’ve not visited the area for years, used to holiday in Cawton. Definitely sounds like it’s worth a trip.
The thought on the cheeky camp was that I’d carry on heading north but I’ll probably just make it a day trip or use an official site like the golden square.
    Quite looking to it.

Cheers, sounds like it’s worth a trip then. Might risk the camping but will avoid flashing the headlights.

Flew out of Manchester T3 yesterday, security wasn’t a problem. In the departure lounge KFC was closed (no food), boots and W.H.Smoths were nothing out of sandwiches etc, the bar that was selling food/drink had a line of about 50 people in it and 2 serving. Once on the plane we were delayed for 2 hours as there were no ground staff to offload the previous passengers bags.

Mass start – riders line up and are steadily released to ensure chips are activated as they pass through the start gate.

Doing it for the 4th time, probably my favourite event although I’m so unfit at the moment.

Did it a few years ago, nice friendly event. Quite like the 1 day format too.

No water station on the intro, if your luck the red bull team will be in place after the 2nd or 3rd intro stage but don’t rely on it. The total loop last year was just under 28km and 810m of height gained. Thought cycle to the first stage which is a big chunk of the loop, once you get to the start of the second stage ots not too bad. Demo loop available but not sure on this as its changed since I did it.

Cashed mine in the first time it got cancelled, didn’t want money tied up with 3 Ard events incase they went under.
Hope they manage to get this event off the ground eventually.

There was only 1 category at Ard Rock that accepted ebikes and that was the intro. If Ard Dales runs I can’t imagine it will have many categories. Not much info out there about it is there….

Yeah the bikes fine, don’t think it was in the van at the time.

Cree – can be found on amazon/eBay etc. Always served me well for 2 nights rides a week through the winter. Endurance is about 3 hours but when not on challenging terrain I do turn the brightness down.

I live in Bradford and they are enforcing a CAZ. It was supposed to start 1st Jan but its been postponed until spring as the council aren’t ready.
My daily driver is a van that is not used for commercial use. I’ve asked several times about the exemptions as its going to cost me £45 per week to travel to work. The council don’t seem to be in any rush on giving people information.

This happened to a friend on 3 occasions. His Audi S3 had the mirrors stolen. to replace them at Audi cost £1000 each time.

I’ll be sticking to the intro… 4 stages is plenty for me! Every year I have a moan about the price but I always seem to come back! 5th Ard Rock I think!

It’s a great event that’s very well organised. Entered for 2022, I saw that the enduro tickets went very quickly, I suppose if people rolled old entries over there won’t have been as many up for grabs.

Saw a twin engined plane the other night looping over Bradford. Looked later on the app and it was one of the new police planes that had flown out of Doncaster.

Yeah I’d expect November. Looks like it’s taking place last weekend of July. Ard Moors has a June date attached but it doesn’t look correct as its a fri/sat.

These posts are really easy to strip, inspect, grease… check out a few YouTube videos. Replacement parts are pretty cheap and easy to find.

The full enduro is too much for me at Ard Moors so I do the sprint.
I also usually do Boltby Bash and Ard Rock Intro. Did Tongduro this year and was pleasantly surprised. Will be aiming for the same events in 2022.

I’ve got a vivaro and run and older modle thule rack. I’m sure there’s something that fits the bill, it will need to be something that sits quite far out from the van to get it to tilt and clear the doors.

Definitely ignore but make staff aware. Work with and support staff you’ll get much more value from them.

You may struggle for a name change now and in past years photo ID has been checked although they didn’t at boltby bash this year.

Jonba those are external bearings so no use! It’s the ones with internal bearings that are hard to source

Last weekends boltby bash there was no ID check like in the past but I suppose as mentioned it may also depend what age category you’ve entered. I think quite a few entrants have bailed, I know not been able to take family with you has meant quite a few of our group have sacked it off.
