Another vote for the zero. Are you local to swinley? If not maybe see if a local forum member has one.

Ran specialized butcher and purgutary grids last year. Both tubeless with no issues.

In my surrounding area there has been a trend in criminals peeling either side or rear doors down to gain entry. They have mainly been targeting work vans though for power tools.

We practice various ‘fire drills’. If a siren sounds (Not the fire alarm) staff must check their emails for further instructions such as – sweep room for suspicious package, if a package is found they then sound the fire alarm for evacuation.

For those that didn’t get a place on this or the Ard moors they are launching a sprint event at ard moors 2017, I’ve just entered 2 mates before it goes public using promo code ‘am17sprint’.

I bought a Zero TR in November and the full susser hasn’t really had much use since, enjoy riding it and the ease of cleaning it afterwards especially during those muddy winter rides. Still manage to keep up with most of my friends on full sussers too!

Yep my zero is on the scheme. Think there was a fee of £100 to pay.

A group of friends/family etc on exercise bikes cycling the equivalent of Leigh to America. Do it in a supermarket or other public place so passers by can also make donations. I have not done the maths so have no idea how many people you would need and how long it would take…. just a thought

    £5 in the pot.

Bought a large trigger 4 and opted for the wrong size. I covered the postage and they sorted me a medium. Also helped me out when cannondale didn’t want to know.

I bent the crank on my zero a few weeks ago. They did me a replacement at a great price and it arrived the next day.

I’ve never managed the climb to the top, sounds like i’m out of excuses now!

I also took advantage of the cyclescheme to get myself a TR. Riding a medium and its spot on. As already mentioned the service from the guys at Bird is good too.

Very competitive area. Pretty sure you’ll be happy if you demo a zero tr!

Start in lofthouse and take the road upto scar house res which is a steady climb. Loop round the res keeping it on your right. Then head back over the tops across to middlesmoor. This bit isn’t pleasant but you can just push up some of the steeper rockier parts. Once at the top its a nice loooong downhill back to the start. Comes in at about 12 miles.

Did it with the missus last year and she enjoyed the views and the downhill sections.

As tilly mentions the support from bird is like nothing else ive experienced. The frame warranty can even be carried over if you purchase a used one. You’ll have a hoot on the demo. Looks like you have plenty of options to consider

Never heard a bad word said about them. Could even say they were a bit ahead of their time…

1.5″ steerer and frame that can accept a 650b wheel.

Only ever really done it once and it was hard to see the end. I never really knew what spec i was after, just bought bits as they came up cheap

It makes the maiden voyage much more special though!

Are you anywhere near Bird HQ to demo one?

Definitely worth contacting silver fish. I had a rear stay on a ghost amr snap a few years ago (bought used) so spoke to the importer at the time (hotlines i think) and they sent me one free of charge that they had knocking about.

Not sure I’m up to the 30 miler…. is the 20 mile route as good as the 30 mile one sounds?

A friend bought a YT a year ago, he’s pretty keen so produced a spreadsheet comparing it to two other bikes, one was an orange 5 can’t remember the other. The YT was much cheaper and better specced.

Good – Took my nephew on the trails around Swinsty today, he loved it.

Bad – Lost my phone somewhere between leaving the house and 15 minutes in at swinsty….. possibly even left it on the car roof whilst I was putting the bikes on. Not insured either!!!!

Another + for the zero is the transferable warranty.

I have not ridden any of the above bikes but what I can say is that the service from bird is amazing. I have a bog standard zero tr and couldn’t be more happier with it.

7 miles out of pately there’s a nice little site called studfold farm. Nice walks and nice local pubs. Easy access to howstean gorge and scar house dam is worth a visit.

How about a Dartmoor hornet…. gives you the option of going 650b later on and they ate quite reasonably priced.

Was it Cycle Recycle? They used to have a shop in Elland but it’s long gone due to flooding. They now operate from 2 shops in Bradford. One is in the university campus, the other is on Wakefield road. The amount of bikes they sell is quite staggering. Its run by a really nice bloke called Chris and a small army of volunteers.

As somebody has mentioned these are quite low end bikes….

Had my passenger window done a few years ago, just sucked it up and paid myself as i really didn’t think it was worth going through the insurance company.

Also used cree’ s for the last few winters. They’ve been really good. The batteries are just starting to give up a bit now but more than had my monies worth.
