Weather was poor overnight, lots of heavy rain. Managed the 4 stages but pretty sure i was rock bottom, final stage nearly finished me off, the hike back to camp did finish me off!

Stage 4 cancelled. Plenty of folk not riding today. Going to go out but doubt i’ll finish.

Got my GT zaskar in the back seat of my 1981 mini, wheels and seat had to come off.

A plus for the bird is that the warranty on the frame can be transferred.

New tyres, chain and casette on the trigger ready for ard moor enduro in two weeks.

Not sure if they are any good or big enough but noticed one for sale in Lidl a few week ago

SK campers at birstall do their own builds and always get good reviews. If they can’t repair it im pretty sure they’ll know somebody that can.

We must live reasonably close im not far off beacon rd.

When we flew to oz with emirates we opted to seat at the rear of the aircraft as there were pairs of seats. If you get the back pair you are able to recline your seats without upsetting anybody. This configuration may depend on how many children you have. If theres 2 children and 2 adults it might work as you could have the pair infront too. Only negative is that they are usually located near the toilets.

I’ve got the TR version. Even though its a pretty basic build (sektor forks, deore brakes, 1×11 GX) i’m very happy with it.

I lost a sock at last years event walking back from the showers….. it wasn’t handed in.

Im in Croatia at the moment, visited several locations over a 12 day period. Dubrovnik is Lovely place but it’s my least favourate out of the ones we’ve visited and prices are almost double. Split would be a good start point and look at doing a day or two on nearby islands. Hvar town and Bol are two towns that i can recommend. Public transports cost are very reasonable and its pretty easy to navigate.

Im doing this years. Never done it before but done ard rock 15 and 16. Trips to india and croatia mean ive not ridden in 4 weeks so need to pull my finger out!

Oh so they are. If the shorts arent too bad and ive not put too much timber on during my hols i might order another pair!

Done the last two ard rocks, doing are moors this year. These are the only events ive ever done. It’s a really fun event with a great crowd. A mate came off last year and several people stopped to help.

Yep bought a few pre loved parts. Was straight forward enough and parts came in expected time frame.

If you can manage on the lower income then go for it. There’s always the possibility to top your wage up during the holidays with schemes such as NCS if needs be.

Had an orange 1981 HL, great car was sad to see it go. Don’t miss having to totally disassemble my bike to get it on the bike seat when i needed to transport it!

Had a bit of a problem with mine, not a warranty issue but cannondale didnt want to know. Luckily Paul’s cycles stepped up and helped me out. Hopefully they are better at resolving warranty problems.

Plenty of folk saying they would confront burglars… very easy to say whilst your sat at a keyboard.
I really should bolster the security of my garage and make things a bit more difficult for theives.

I quite like the collect+ system. Items go straight to my local shop rather than attempting delivery and then returning the package to the sorting office.

I used to work for a large mail order bike company. Mostly low end stuff. They had the idea of doing this too. Showroom with a few display bikes then everything is ordered.

Me and the girlfriend did it 6/7 years ago… No mortgage as such but sold cars and other bits and pieces. Travelled Australia for 12 months and then did Thailand for 1 month on the way home. It was a great feeling waking up in a morning knowing you could pretty much do what you want. Had pretty much nothing when we returned but my only regret was not travelling more. Managing 12 days this summer island hopping around Croatia, that’s as good as it gets now!

If your going second hand its worth remembering that the warranty on Bird frames is transferable.
