Im 5 11 and ride a medium TR. Where are you located? Can you pop to HQ to sit on one?

Not used them but passed this place whilst trekking a few years ago. Its in imlil which is in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.

was on the waiting list for this years Ard Moors, got an email one morning so opened it and it gave me approx 20 minutes to enter and pay otherwise the place gets passed onto the next person. Not sure if it’s the same system but just to let you know!

Same thoughts as Lucky… first year I did it I took part in the 35k 3 stage loop and it was on the Saturday, probably the one I’ve enjoyed most.

If you both enter the same event, claim similar ability and add the same team name you should get the same start time.

Very true about pricing. First year i did it camping was a flat rate of £5, now its £5 per night…. doesnt sound much but soon adds up.

Thats good then as dont think the intro will be too popular so should get a place easily enough. Missed this years as i was away but did ard moors (only just) and also took part in 2016/2015 ard rock. Looking forward to it!

I use these, cheap and functional but not sure how you’d get on with a fat bike wheel, could possibly open the hook up a bit.

Its worth it to tick off, quite like gisburn but only probably done 5 centres.

Im about 5 11″ and my medium TR is a good fit. Didnt spec a dropper when had it built just added one later.

A few mates ride giant trances, seem good allround bikes that have been pretty reliable.

If your really keen on the bird could you just fit a dropper when funds allow?

I’m not sure how long you intend to keep the bike but the transferable frame warranty may also mean the Bird retains more value over the Marin in the second hand market.

I have a zero TR, love the bike even though it is a very standard spec. One thing to consider is the service that you will receive from Bird. If you do a search on here there are a number of times that they have gone above and beyond.

Sad news, the missus worked for monarch a few years ago.

Did 12 days in croatia in the summer…. loved split, hvar and bol.

I have a similar press and in the past have used shredded newspaper.

Its a mixture of untreated wood.
Sounds like it might be more hassle than its worth.

Nothing to feel hard/disappointed about, you got stuck in and tried your best! I’m sure that the casualties family can take some comfort in knowing that an attempt was made to save his life and that he was not alone.

As Mike said some of the relocation deals are good but not much use over a long period. Did 4 relocations whilst travelling oz.

Im just building up a 14″ 45650b for the missus, seems a good do it all bike. Theres a guy on pinkbike selling a new 18″ frame for £100.

Trout – was that you at the bottom of the trail upto stages 1&2? Good effort by all the event staff.

Yes still used 5. Had to stop part way to clear mud from back wheel. Transition back was awful.
