I quite like Gisburn, seems to have a bit of everything. Certainly worth a visit.

Very happy with my TR but never ridden the mondraker. The service you get from Bird is unbelievably good.

Sydney – head to the blue mountains, cheap easy access by train.

Gold Coast – has lots of haters, can see why but with teenagers in tow it might be worth a visit. White waterworld and wet n wild water park are a good day out.

Darwin – if you only go for a few days don’t bother with Kakadu, take a day trip to Litchfield national park, 1/2 day boat trip to see crocs and birds of prey with the other 1/2 day spent swimming in water holes. Trip might be seasonal though so worth researching.

Might opt for the 20 miler, did the Holme Valley Challenge last year and enjoyed it! Got Boltby Bash the following weekend.

Did Gdansk late last year, nice place with enough to keep us entertained for a long weekend but a week might be a bit much just depends on what your interests are.

Did 12 days last year. Flew into split…. split, bol, Havar, makarska then Dubrovnik. Please excuse spellings but each was good but only for a short period of time. Travel was cheap and accommodation was reasonable. Back this year but but further north flying into poulet

Cracked the frame on my cannondale trigger a few years ago. Cannondale were absolutely useless luckily Paul’s cycles where I purchased it from really helped me out. Hope you have a more positive outcome with cannondale than I did but failing that contact the shop you purchased it from. In my case Paul’s cycles buy extra frames to help customers with any problems such as mine.

How long you in the area for? I’m just down the rd so get up that way at least once a week. I don’t have a gxp but plenty of good trails in the area. Shibden mill inn, ogden and elland isn’ too far either.

This place isn’t far from me and is a used Jimny specialist. May be worth seeing if they can help. If needs be I’d be happy to collect and post the parts if available.

I’ve got one of the on one lids. Ventilation isn’t great but can’t grumble for the price!

Used paisley quite a few times with no issues. Costs about £25 but I’m not sure what sort of insurance cover that cost includes.

There are some very capable hardtail bikes about… nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than when I’m on the Bird zero and overtake mates on their full sussers.

I’ll be advertising and On One Parkwood shortly. Small frame, 650b, 100m rock shox, mix of XT and Deore running gear, Deore brakes 180/160.

Was looking for £400 but happy to do a deal.

Bird Zero but you have 29″ wheels you want to use, not sure that will work out.

Is teaching in higher/further education any less stressful? I’m not sure if it compares financially but a friend of mine who was a HOD in a high school has done this and seems much happier.

Unfortunately teachers/schools are under a huge amount of pressure and things don’t look like they are going to getting any better any time soon.

I’ve seen teaching staff leave the profession after their NQT year.

Thought i might head to swinsty tomorrow. Might have a pedal over to stainburn. Biggest challenge will be getting out of bed after a bottle of rum!

For somebody wanting a dabble i’d buy second hand. Its a buyers market at this time of year so if he/she decides its not for them and they sell in spring/summer the financial loss shouldn’t be too bad.

fair play to anybody tackling these events on a hard tail.

Changed from the sportive to the enduro as I didn’t read it properly. Thought the Sportive was just a more relaxed endure but its timed from start to finish!
