I recently went to a retul bike fit. Any lower back pain is caused by tight muscles.

Stretch your quads, hamstrings and glutes – And do core exercises.
Oh and look at your pelvis positioning. Does you’re back have a curve? As in when your riding do you slump? Straighten it by rolling your pelvis forward. Plus you’ll be able to activate your gluteals which will give you more power.

Id recommended a proper bike bit.

Cheers guys, Seems like a mixed bag then. I work from home, so will try and use the commute argument saying that I will commute on the road bike everyday out and back home. That will give me atleast 1 hour per day on the bike. Plus will have a set of rollers that can be used during the later hours.

Tis going to be good fun!

Yep Im doing – Solo 6 hour. looking for a good result.

Im a Spam member but if dry i’ll be wearing my black Morvelo jersy.

It was very wet there on Wednesday night. If dry its a blast of a course! real good fun.

I thought that was Bristol. Ashton court? No?

I should of said. Does it have to be to have the lightest fastest tyre.

Is there any data to back this up.

    Janesy

TooTall – I have been up there a few times.

As I dont come from Bristol I have other trails that are equally as close.

Perhaps I should ride again though before I pass judgement.

Sitting here with the wife, she said the second one looks good. – She doesn’t ride….

Imo the first one doesn’t seem pleasant as its wet. But as soon as it dries out good trail with ‘mtb’ obstacles.

I guess it’s how you class mtb.

    1 – Challenging

    or

2 – Sanitise the ‘trail’ to get more people riding.

for what ever reason your doing it for, im sure your doing a good job and I hope your enjoying it.

If Glentress (although ive never been) its a trail center in which ive been to many. The Ron & Ralph I stated probably will be too fragile for you. although the NobbyNic or Ardent are still great tyres

I wouldn’t ride mudx on hard pack! thats a no no!

    Janesy

Go for the big names. for hardpack trail conditions i’d recommend Maxxis Aspens, Schwalbe Rocket rons or Racing Ralphs.

or for intermediate tyres such you wont go wrong with Maxxis Ardents, Schwalbe NobbyNics.

what / where do you ride?

I think the OP asked the question perfectly fine. The reason the question has not been answered is because they would get flamed. You know the answer your self. Nothing.

Unfortunately they are povity stricken like much of Afrika ka ka ka.

It’s a shame. And will never change / will get worse.

Well I’m putting on my MUDx on. Better than a rocket Ron and Aspen. Just did a local hour in Wiltshire and couldnt
    Don’t ride the thing.

    Schwalbe R1 or http://www.nextdaytyres.com/Tyres/Schwalbe/Ultremo-ZX-2011.aspx

Premium tyres. Better than 4000s by a long mile.

After a particularly frustrating chainsuck problem with a Saint drivetrain across two very different frames

It’s a worn drivetrain not the frame FFS

Yeah don’t know why I mentioned that. It’s obviously not on the same loop.

Just had an email from CRC, saying part of the order has been shipped the the Ultegra SL chainset (road) is out of stock. Still shows in stock on the website 😀 then he has the cheek to say it will be delivered when in stock… BUT no mention when that may be. FFS!

Email sent to change order. Honestly this will be the last time ordering from brokenchainreactioncycles.

The German suppliers didn’t have the chainset I wanted. Ultegra Sl for the road bike, And e13 ring for the mtb.

I have received 3 of the orders.

Bike-discount from Germany – I would say they are massive as well. Just puts the English to shame.

CRC still processing. All orders made Tuesday 9am.
I paid for faster delivery (special del) with CRC. Let’s be honest it takes the piss. There are no excusses.

Just to add, there is no real rush but I have spent £600 on new chainsets for both mob and road ad some other goodies.
I don’t really care if I don’t get it until next week but thought I’d compare the online retailers on this forum.
