Druidh – on Fatbirds they only have the 54 and 60.

Although im looking at the Van Nicholas Zephyr on Planet X, its a 54 just comparing sizes. I have a L N2a…

Not my size unfortunately. Looking for 56 ideally. Any other options?

I guess im flogging a dead horse here, but just popped in the AC rear wheel with no cassette. There is a gap between the axel and the dropout. This is only on the drive side, the non drive side is perfect… I’d say the dropout was to large.

Cheers Waderider, I guess the crux of the problem is that not only paint has worn the carbon has too, making feel unsure of ‘safely’ riding it.

I guess I will wait until Monday to hear back from PX.

Bez – Trust me its pulling out. – I’ve tried two – 2! wheel sets and 2 different QRs. the PX ones and American classics.

Looking at the frame on the PX site it looks like the drop outs are slightly forward facing

Showing superficial paint work loss on the outside of the dropout.

This one showing the inside, mech hanger screw has a mark on it. Showing me that there isn’t enough material for the QR to grip.

Edit – photo has bad contrast and unable to see the screws. I only have my phone available atm.

Oh and I should say, If I tighten the QR really tight, the mech hanger moves throwing accurate gear changing out of the window. Never seen that either. Bloody cheap carbon frame I guess.

Yes looks like a fault and not gripping properly. It’s not just paint thats gone, carbon too. 1mm dip. Email sent to Planet X.

I’m not going to ride it. Probably dangerous and am not going to risk the chain stay snapping whilst cars whizzing past me at 60mph.

Its slipping from the dropouts. the first time it was using the PX skewers and today was using my new American classic Areo 420s 3 wheelset. using the AC skewers. Very tight! had to stuggle adjusting it. Had to stop 3 times during ride to re center and drive side popped out.

Davidtayforth – if the wheel pops out on the drive side it will rub the non drive side. I noticed the dropouts are very smooth with no bite marks, this a bit strange?

    Padded short underneath!? FFS!

    Edit – Didnt see this

These Bib Tights come with no padded insert for ultimate cold weather versatility.

    Probably crap then.

I’ve got Stans alpha 340 on no name hubs for Germany. ‘Fun’ I believe.
Wheels look terrible and braking is not as good as my old fulcrums racing 5’s.

I have a good set of Alu rollers which I have started to use.

I want some thing light and semi aero – manly as I like the look for 30mm rims +

Heh me too, half way round the first lap, I hit the end of my saddle, stupid 1 bolt design. Was sticking upwards so couldn’t sit down. Was at the front then got dropped by ‘everyone’ I stopped to readjust my saddle. 10minutes later finished the first lap and front wheel went and ending in a tree with a snapped chain. Found both split links next to my foot.

Gave up pissed off and drove 2 hours home. 4 hours driving for 2 hours is stupid let alone 30 minutes. What a waste of a day . Should of gone out n the road bike. And enjoyed the sun.
