20 quid for a corona and a jagermeister/red bull. v expensive considering the prices at other places in prague. the view was nice though if you catch my drift 🙄

could i spend a few days just doing the 7stanes? or is there not enough to ride? its just much closer to home than fort bill and id rather wait till next summer for fort bill when i might be good enough to tackle the downhill routes 😀

isnt fort bill a bit extreme for me never mind my newbie mates.

what difference does it make? if he doesnt pay you then claim an unpaid item credit from ebay. then re-list the item. obviously dont go posting the thing before you have got the money…

    http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/mountain-bike-front-derailleurs/shimano-slx-front-mech-double.html

thats the top swing version for £23 on merlin as i said. However if its your chain that keeps dropping it probs isnt because of the mech. Is your chain too long? Have you tried a chain tensioner such as the blackspire stinger???

well that was an effort, but i got it back together through some trial and error and some out of the box thinking. The big silver thumb shifter is still pretty wonky but it works and doesnt clash with the smaller black shifter now 😀

Only thing is i realised that the clamp/bolt thing that attaches the cable to the mech has fallen off on the way home. Anyone know where i can get new ones?

if you want an expensive one then go for king or hope. I've got an FSA orbit XLII which i bought off ebay for about 18 posted. Its brilliant and i couldn't really ask for more.

hamsterley is good for downhill and 4x but the red and black xc routes are poor (the red isn't really worth doing and i would grade it as a blue (nothing technical at all) and the black is quite short ~10km if a remember correctly).

Kielder forest is much better for the xc routes both the red loop and the black are very good. Easy to spend a day at kielder doing parts of the trails and a bit of sessioning.

So my vote is for kielder (there is a chance i might be there on tuesday as well 😀 if the bike shop get the cartridge for my forks in tomorrow)

Just had a go at putting -ve air into the preload chambers. Looks like this may have done the trick for the moment.

i feel bad calling people for advice when the chances are i wont actually be buying anything from them.

However looks like i may have to.

just changed the oil myself- 190cc's in each leg. I'm pretty sure this is correct.

geforce junky – just air preload so far as i can tell. 2 air valves on top of each leg. How do you get negative pressure into a valve?

    Jammy111

ok just tried setting it in 'attack position' – still can only get about 2.5-3cm of sag when i need around 5cm. Also doing a 1.5ft to flat drop i only got to about 12cm of travel and cant get past the 12cm mark when 'pogoing' around on tarmac.

I also replaced the oil with 5wt to see if this would make much difference- it doesnt.

I've heard things about removing one of the springs and only having one in. Is this correct? Or should i just get softer springs? If so where do i get em from and how much do they cost?

Linthwaite House Hotel, ive been going to windermere since i was about 5. Trust me its the nicest hotel in the area (it is also quite expensive though). Really nice in the summer and also has a nice cosy feel on the night time.

The website has some virtual tour things on so take a look.

ill have a go at opening them up and replacing the oil then. Anyone know what weight to use? I've got some 15w kicking about so it would be really useful if it was that….

it says 195mm of oil, where is this measured from/to???

nah only adjustments on the ‘r’ model are air preload on the right and rebound on the top of the left. Im positive it something to do with the internals rather than adjustments.

yer go with him, i went through the whole open days thing a couple of years ago and most people had their parents with them. Some uni’s then separate parents and kids off into two groups others dont.
