seems like it will be an m4 then. back to my original question, will that set be ok? it seems awfully cheap compared to some others…

on another little diversion- if the threads are stripped and wont clean up properly, will it be possible to tap it using one size bigger then use bigger bolts?

yep, the pinch bolts for the rear axle and also the pivot pins (on an orange, where the dust caps go to cover the bearings).

im pretty sure the pinch bolts are m6 but don't know about the pivot ones.

anyone know if the aforementioned set is any good?

are you sure about that? I thought the swingarm has to grip the bearings or else it could just slide off??

they did manage to set a bomb off, hitler was hurt and i think a few generals were killed. not sure if they show it in the film but apparently hitler was only saved due to the placement of the bomb- in relation to him it was behind one of the thick wooden legs of the table, hence he didn't get the full effect of the blast.

you wont get a mont blanc for 130. they start at 210 ish. cross come with a 2 year guarantee IIRC mont blanc only get one year- and are apparently quite fragile/ smash if you drop them.

one thing i would recommend is trying them out before buying (maybe not possible in this instance) but by doing this i immediately narrowed my choice down to two or three pens out of a good hundred or so in a pen shop. they were a parker, a cross and a mont blanc. After the bashing on this thread im not going to say which i bought 😳

Oh and in reply to those suggestions of it being IBS- IBS should always be diagnosed after extensive 😯 testing to rule out other major illnesses such as krohns, coeliacs etc etc Any decent doctor wont diagnose you with IBS after only a week of symptoms- took mine 4 months.

    So don't worry about it!

it will almost definitely be your stomach adjusting to the lack of alcohol. I'd leave it a week or two then if the problem persists go to the docs.

Trust me, the last thing you want is an unnecessary endoscopy 😯

Oh and yes you do need a break from drink by the sounds of it: http://units.nhs.uk/howMany.html Note it says regularly no more than 3 to 4 units a day. Not 3 to 4 a day is fine…

alpin, cheers for the response. i was more wanting a reply as to whether it will damage the newly chased threads by screwing a bottom bracket with knackered threads in.

For my birthday back in december i got the 661 pressure suit pro off JE James for 80 quid. Bargain! I havent had chance to test it yet due to all the snow but trying it on it seems like a brilliant investment. Mainly for the back protector; lest be honest nobody wants to take a tumble on a rocky DH track for their spine to take the hit at 35mph straight onto a pointy rock. The shoulder, chest and elbow/forearm protectors are just an added bonus! Plus what are the reasons for not wearing it? it may be a bit warm/uncomfortable/ make you look like a tit but so what! For what it might prevent its a no brainer…

i did the same with mine:

I specifically stated that i didnt want paint in any of the bolt holes, headtube, bottombracket, pivot bearing areas etc etc And guess what they did- paint everywhere!! Took me all afternoon to scrape/file the paint out so i could get the rear axle, headset and bearings back in grrrrr (it did only cost me £20 though so i cant complain too much)

it is perfectly easy to hit 60mph on slopes. i only weigh 11stones and managed to clock 94.7kph through a speed gun last week (~57mph). some of the big 14stone blokes were going through at 100+kph, i think the fastest i saw was 114kph

just looked on ebay lloks like helicopter tape is what im after. do you reckon a strip down the downtube and under the swingarm will suffice?

Will the weld be a problem for application?

Im curently at Durham this is roughly what i get/spend

    Get:
-The 3000ish loan to pay course fees
-3500 ish (non means tested amount) of maintenance loan

So i get rougly 1200 a term to cover accomodation, food, and 'extra curricular' activities 😛

    Spend:
-Catered halls cost 1500 a term so you immediately into your own money here to the tune of 300 quid, plus youve got to add on whatever you spend. I spend roughly 600 a term on top of this (it cold be less, it could be more i relatively sensible with my money but not stingy)
    -Rent in a house ranges from about 55-80 a week +bills +food (~50 a week)

My advice would be if it is you that will be funding her course. Pay her rent/halls and any other bills and then give her a sensible amount to use as spending money. Maybe 75-100 quid a week or so, about the average among my friends in the same situation.

I made some tools that i was selling on here for cost price (before mods locked the thread with no real explanation or reply to emails grrr) they work a treat for removing and installing cups. Maybe you could have a go at making some yourself. I can give you the details if you like. Pm me if you do…
