    no worries teasel : )

so yes it is not solid and hard but looks like dust, almost graphite-like, which has collected in somethign sitcky or just wet, not somethign that has gone-off hard.
good idea PeterPoddy about something wearing. i’ll have a closer look.

Although frankly, if a fan belt goes, and the person coming to my aid is a lady in stockings which she’s prepared to take off for me, the bloody fan belt can stay broken!

    very 1960s : )

egg-n-‘minuim. yep that’s a fairly well-known folk remedy. NOT worth trying i’d say.
don’t think it’s egg tho, having scraped a bit off.

i’ll have to just run the van a bit and see if rad liquid goes down, if it leaks noticeably i guess

anyone help with this. where is this guffy guff most likely coming from?
not how i imagined a radweld type repair would look to be honest.
perhaps a slow leek that’s just collected the guff as it’s sticky?

    yup. guffy mcguff face!

    thanks all,
i gave it a good flush out, having discovered hose attachements on the departure and return manifolds (is that what they’e called in english?) so now i’m going to put a cleaner in. most of the pipes are PER or ‘muticouche’ as it’s called here – basically an Acorn type sandwich structure pipe. does this change my requirement for a cleaner?

is that the same as latency?

thanks bigfoot, that’s what i figured, and have done once before on a small area.
do you seal-up/glue between the sheets?

don’t want to self level it as i’m not very good with it and it’s 30sq m.

So have ordered wedi, i get it quite cheap and found nothing cheaper.

totalshell, the vapour membrane stops moisture in the air, ie vapour.
it’ a good, variable, paper-based one, so want to keep it clean.

i think he didn’t spcially do it on purpose. and the elbow was after the damage was done. it just looked from the front like the culprit but was only an after-‘thought’.
it’s such a competitive agressive situation that they just react without real malice in their intentions.
i’m sure he sensed, whether aware or not, that Cavo was coming up fast and his reaction was just ‘No, i’m having that’ and just instintually tried to block the space and get demare’s wheel.

watching in slo mo there’s a moment when Cavo’s take a clear knock to the jaw fro Sagan’s shoulder but it’s all probably already going wrong by that point.
Domar also cut up bouhanni quite badly, causing him to have to brake (he said as much on french telly – wasn’t happy). he was lucky not to crash too.

thanks nerd. i tried it on today and the chest strap felt a bit weird and small. but i think there’smots of variation in the decat stuff and i’d probably find one htat felt better.
for 20 euros it’s hard to beat

didn’t on CRC pic i was looking at. may be just that pic tho
yep, some pics have chest strap and some don’t. must just be removeable then?

liking the look of the camelbak hydrobak.
simple and small. easy to fill without opening up a bag.
hmm, no chest or waist strap tho

those wingnut packs look convincing, but believe it or not, too big.

teamslug, looks like a waist pack to me, too much so i mean

any systems about with a flexibottle, or whatever they’re called, fitted into a frame bag and a tube coming out? could work for me. tube would need a clipon toptube or somewhere.

think reliability issues with CCBD inline are now resolved. they updated internals.

    jamiesilo

i found they do make a difference.
less squeal, or later squeal anyway. no difference on shorter bits of braking, but during longer decents they seem to me to continue to work better for longer, ie not heating up as much
    but pricey yeh
have you looked at uberbike ones wiht seperate fins and replaceable pads?

if you have multiple tolls in one day, they only charge your card once, so you shouldn’t pay a charge on each toll payment. course credit card you don’t pay those charges anyway.
