No, I was referring to the misuse of ‘right of way’. A right of way is is legally granted access, like a public footpath, not some divine right to ignore (or hit) all other road user because you have priority.

I did it. Watched a lot of youtube videos. In my view, the most tricky it arent really tricky but are expensive if you balls up – bottom bracket fitting and steer length cutting. Not yet done wheel building or brake bleeding

I’d go for a brighter rear light. Recommend the Smart Lunar R1, which can be found for about £11 upwards

More pissed off the bike is damaged since Im meant to be going to the Alps on Thursday.

Hire out there and add the receipts to her bill. This was a holiday specifically to cycle, which you cant now that she wrecked your bike, so she should be liable.

SS told that despite having vision still in the normal range of what is considered 20-20 vision I would benefit from glasses. WFT? Tried on the prescription they recommended and my vision blurred SIGNIFICANTLY to the point of not being able to see much at all. WTF, again?

I went to the dr last year with something similar to my forearm – sensitive, popeye-style swelling, hot. Diagnosed as a bacterial infection, likely from a tiny, tiny cut got from god knows where. Course of antibiotics.

The price on this keeps fluctuating. Got it for £161 after keeping my eye on it. great reviews on amazon and other review sites. Lots of camera for the size and price (if you can check daily and hold out for a deal)

edit: has full access to all menus for manually selecting photo options, but also an easy mode which locks the menus and the camera selects the best options

A new road safety campaign launches this week as part of the Streets Ahead partnership. The initiative aims to reduce the number of road traffic incidents involving cyclists on Edinburgh’s roads.

Led by the City of Edinburgh Council with Lothian and Borders Police, the Drive Safe, Cycle Safe campaign will run throughout Summer and Autumn, educating road users on types of behaviour that can be hazardous to both cyclists and motorists.

Phase one of the campaign highlights the importance of observing traffic lights and advanced stop lines (or cycle boxes).

As part of the campaign, a series of road shows will run this week across the city – come along for the opportunity to get some safety advice and have your bike security marked for free*

Complain. It won’t do you any good but it might do someone else some good in the future if they take your complaint on board and improve their service as a result.

Phone your GP back and tell them you wish to make a written complaint. They have to tell you how to do this. A real long shot but they might then find a way to fit you in

Sorry but this boils my p1ss. I see it all the time. The problem with having a target of 18 weeks from referral to treatment is if you breach 18 weeks then no one then cares if you then wait 19 weeks or 119 weeks.

Once you have breached then you have breached – they will have no incentive to fit you in quickly. Instead, they will be focusing resources on insuring that those patients about to breach are seen within the 18 week target so their figures look ok.

I know about waiting times but in Scotland (my team is responsible for publishing the stats on this and I am involved with determining the ‘rules’ for how waiting times should be defined/measured)

There is a formal process for making a written complaint (google it, the website is different in England than Scotland). A complaint won’t speed things along, but if you think you should complain then do so.

Also, so back to your GP and tell them you have yet to be seen, and stating your displeasure.

Are you ‘medically available’ to be treated? If not, your waiting times ‘clock’ will be ‘paused’ until you are ft enough to receive the treatment ie according to the rules you will be treated within the required 18 weeks even if your actual wait (including the pause) is longer
