    £7 from CRC
Better than most because it has a chain position adjuster that ensures the chain/pin are sat square. Ignore the negative comments on the site – they aren’t setting the adjuster right

    I did this recently:

    On-one Midge bars
Tektro RL520 levers (long pull) used on mechanical discs
Shimano Dura-Ace 7700 bar end sifters (friction shifting)

if you like utterly mahoosive explosions and a very poor, sickly unlikely plot about an American triumphing over evil terrorists, go for it

I have the Scourer, which is lower spec-ed but has the same F&F. Have a look at the geometry, which I think is compact, more like road than mtb.

I my view, you will be disappointed with it as a mtb as it is essentially a road bike sized frame with mbt components, and so just doesn’t work – feels too much sit up and beg. I bought the bike with knowledge of the compact geometry, and changed the bars for drops to turn it into a cheap cx bike, which I now love.

Is there an offer for the Scourer? If I recall it seemed to be more bang for your buck when I bought the previous, 2012 model in Nov last year (£290 after snagging a huge discount offer from Wiggle).

I am in Edinburgh if you want a look.

Just came across BeerBabes new tool roll on FB – http://www.beerbabe.co.uk/ourshop/prod_2835483-Tool-Roll.html

What, you came across it on Facebook rather than your wife just telling you that she’d made it

If one was (legitimately) filtering, one may not know until it was too late that the bike box was not free, which would be harsh to get a ticket for.

Also, a car can legitimately be parked in a bike box if the solid line was straddled while on green so a blanket fine on the car might not be appropriate either.

likely to be a long and frustratingly slow recovery. It took me a while to get over the mindset that exercise must be about high intensity, but pilates helps

A month ago I bought one, love it so that I now have another two. Quality, design and performance are excellent. Which is why i think they are worth it. They are at the very limit of what I would spend but I will be buying again, although maybe not for a while while my wallet recovers.

The funn full-on bars are silly cheap on CRC. Various rises and widths. I’ve two pairs, and would buy a third if I had 3 bikes

My parents (65yo) have always read the Mail and Express since I was a child. They are perfectly reasonable, intelligent, liberal, young outlook, left-leaning, etc, so I have never understood why.

My Mum’s reasoning seems to be that it isn’t a red top and it isn’t a broadsheet, which is too big for her small frame to hold

There is a formal complaints procedure. Guidance on the web (different agencies in Scotland and England/Wales).

However, in the first instance, your colleague should be pushing to be treated – return to the GP and/or hospital to explain her issue and unease with the treatment so far. Focus on this and make any formal complaint later.

The Planet-X one Drac links to is the same as the one on Chain Reaction, but cheaper. Perfectly adequate – I have one, bought when starting out, and have added extra tools as required.

Bike tools tend to be burly so people being a bit robust with them shouldn’t be a problem.

If you are really on a budget, also get small spanners, hammer, rubber mallet from pound shop
