Spend money to save money in the long run. I’ve been hitting that Scott sale too and have saved a fortune

My last 3 orders have included 1 or more things that turned out not to be in stock

Been that price for at least a month. Ribble recently had 10% off shimano too. It is cheap then the competition though

    charge scoop.
more or less the same, but slightly nicer, and only a few more £’s.

    Where from? I see Spoon = £20; Scoop + £38

EDIT: Ah, Tredz have the Scope for £32 in some colours

i found the overly grippy top was a pain for a few rides but then weathered perfectly. Have them on all 3 of my MBT. No issues with the stitching wearing or shorts wearing either

Yes, I really really want to give them my money but they have lost numerous custom from me due to lack of stock. Emailed them yesterday about bikepacking luggage – they will be restarting taking as hoc orders again in a week or so

500 was £111 from Tiso a month ago (but OOS now) so it can be had for cheaper. Highly recommend it. Have the 700 too but 500 was well warm enough in a tent in snow

Edit: Cotswold Outdoors have it at £149 – get Go Outdoors to price match it for 10% off that from them

My RF driveside chank always works loose. Has just been done up proper man-tight and with loctite so we’ll see how that goes. No clicking noise though

Garmin Dakota 20. Was about £120 6-8 months ago. Plus £20 for maps from a dodgy man on the internet or free ones from talky toaster

5″8′ 31″ inside leg. Ragley’s Mmmbop and Marley both size 16″, 50mm stem. I like a smaller bike, but wouldn’t want to go down to a 14″

It’s hard to ignore the £47 M610 triple price on Ribble.

especially if you bump your basket up to £50 and then add the 10% off shimano code

Thanks everyone. Although that does mean that I now don’t get to buy a shiny new trinket

did I dream this? That I read somewhere on here earlier today – 60g

    edit: it wasn’t a dream, but it wasn’t 60g either but 40g

yeah, thanks, I am guessing that it is just marketing (calling front mechs 9 or 10 speed) but worried that the internal mech size would be different (due to differnt width chains), or such like

The time and money spent on prep and paint would be better spent on getting someone to do a £30 blast and powdercoat, with better results too

Get a quote from them that is stupidly discounted to then be in line with market value, and then get cold calls from them for another two years because you qualify for discounted blinds etc…

I went with a local fitter, which was in line with or slightly cheaper than most quotes and the window had more features/options. Swayed by a non-BS sales person, who turned out to be the fitter

The first link is the one that lidl sells occasionally. I have one from lidl. Search here for some reviews/feedback. I’m very happy with it for the money. Add a strip of tape to the right angle arm, which prevents the arm slipping slightly when holding the bike

edit: it is the one walla24 suggests, not the first link. Agree that the lever closure is better than a knob

I have it on my SS. I don’t have anything to compare it to.

That is until yesterday when I instead put on on-one’s cromo fork. The cromo is significantly stiffer and rattly.

Now having the two to compare, I like both but prefer the forgiving carbon one.

If you casn’t get one from the classifieds for ~£70-75 (they always come up) then I’d go for the Exotic, which seems very similar

For the guys who use dry bags as saddle bags, what do you carry in them? I’m wondering if strength is an issue. They’ll be OK for sleeping bags and stuff of course, but what if you started bundling your tools in and stuff?

I cram it with anything and it is fine riding around anywhere, bumps an all. So long as the straps are tight.

And I absolutely don’t use a backpack. The weight on the bike rather than your back is much more comfortable
