it has been bought by alltracks. But as far as I can see all the original functionality is still there if you continue to use gpsies.com. In fact it seems nothing has changed

on an overbooked train last month, I took off the wheels, put them in bin bags, frame in others, got on at the end carriage, dumped the bags and sat in the carriage down. It was a faff

On a different note, nothing boils my urine more than cyclist on the road when there is a fully functioning cycle lane right next to it…… grrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaahhhhhhyooouuuidiotz

It boils my urine seeing people driving on the road when there is a fully functioning cycle lane / footpath / bus / tram / train

I did my first cx race on 25 Aug. Tweedcross. It was probably the hottest day of my summer. I had a bottle in a seattube cage as there wasn’t any portage but I was too on the limit to grab a drink from it. A erm colossal performance of 17th of 68 in the B race. I’d been riding 200,300,400,600km audaxs this year, the exact opposite of training for bouncing into the red for 55 minutes

I was originally going to do this but read more recent reviews of those shifters, which weren’t too favourable with the passing of time versus when they were originally released. Plus the faff of individually sourcing all the gubbins. Ive gone for the £979 Ultegra R8070 kit on Merlin

make sure Mrs and Mini do the green route. I’m sure they’ll enjoy it. Check it on the map. It is very poorly signposted, near the skills loop, accessed at the start of your way to the red route / BBB.

something is very wrong with the battery if you are concerned that you’ll only get 60 hours out of it. I wait months (abet only about 15-20 hours cycling per week) between charges and even then I charge just in case rather than because there is the battery warning light

I tested my new to me WTB Nano 40 up the Pentlands last week and was very happy with them. No road buzz; sufficient grip on a few muddy patches; sufficient grip on the most gravelly bits (I don’t know the name – Green Cleugh? (the section with sheep and burn crossing following left turn after climbing Exponential) and Maiden’s Cleugh climb. 10/10 would buy again

edit: the central knobs seem to form a central strip when at high pressure, suiting road. But act more like knobbles for off road at lower pressure

the bars on your MTB seem higher than I would set up my road, CX or gravel bike. I’m not sure the inboard bar ends are actually replicating being on the hoods.

I’ve worked on and ridden a couple of gravel events now (Dirty Reivers, Grinduro and some local Velotastic rides) and so many riders on drop bar bikes seem utterly terrified of descending.

Judging by my road club, roadies coming from road to gravel, rather than mountain bikers coming from mountain biking to gravel, tend to have that look. See also mud, off camber

SKS Speedrocker is a bit more (£40 from Mantel) but is very stable for clip-ons and adjustable. The rear isn’t very long though

if possible, leave at work one pair each of trousers, shoes, undercrackers else they’ll certainly be a time when you spend the day without one of them. And pack your bag the night before rather than in the morning in a rush still half asleep

I CX race on mine and did used to gravel on it too.
    It will be lighter.
No eyelets for adding any commuter stuff.
I wouldn’t call upright at all, I think it is pretty racey, more racey geo than their old Dirty Disco was and certainly more than their LR. I think the rear triangle is fairly stiff

I’ve lived in Edinburgh 15 years. I recieved one of these bills randomly addressed to me from Scottish Power about 5-8 years ago and just ignored it. Never heard from again. But there was no debt collector mentioned. We have no factor.

I think i’d just use INDEX and MATCH rather than a lookup in this scenario. Afraid i’ve not the time now to write you an example formula https://exceljet.net/formula/index-and-match-with-multiple-criteria

mine’s twice wobbled and wouldnt sync. Unlinking Strava then relinking worked once. Once I had to unlink and then factory reset the watch then link again

Because an amber light seemingly no longer means stop but means boot the accelerator to beat the lights. And a red light no longer means stop for the first 1 second but nip through fingers crossed, I don’t want to get caught at the lights

my 50s are noticeably less prone to sidewinds than my 40s. I guess it’s not all about depth but profile too. I use the 50s whenever i can because they do seem to feel a bit stiffer and I perceive that they better hold speed once up to speed. But mostly because they make a slight whooshing noise when cranked up

Di2 cables come with a handful of bits of plastic that clip on, which look like cable ties with the long end left on. I guess the cable tie thing would work

was there in Feb. One day was so windy, 9.5 stone of me was suffering. There’s a good photo of me tucked, clinging to the wheel 0.00347cm in front. But other days were no more gusty than a gusty Edinburgh. Stayed on that town nearest the airport, South East. One can ride the length of the island and back fine in a day. Plan routes cos staying South has a taily on the way out but then a headwind on the way back, when knackered. V v quiet roads and good hills

“Headtube will be short compared to a proper road bike because the fork will be longer to fit more tyre in. ”
Correct. Tyre clearance is essentially limited by the rim width rather than the fork. 2.4 would fit. With the supplied wheels, I’ve pushed it and fitted a 1.9. Without mudgurds, rear takes up to 42mm, limited by tightness around the BB area.

15mm front and rear axles make it feel very stiff. Geometry is pretty aggressive

SFN slipping shouldnt be relevant, it/top cap could theoretically be removed entirely once the bearings have been properly preloaded, stem possition determined and the stem fixed. Is the underneath of the  top cap just touching the steerer’s top? (meaning that the bearings arent actually properly preloaded even though they would appear to be.) A further top spacer would test this
