If mostly off-road I actually remove the guards to prevent mud built up induced lock-ups.
These don’t require eyelets and aren’t solid plastic like SKS Chromoplastics etc (see the video) but aren’t twangy either

As above, I think the 30l would be huge. I’ve the 25l, which I don’t actually use for ‘cycling’ (as it would sometimes be too big). Rather, I use that for ‘carrying stuff while on my bike’.

See how the 20 and 25’s dimensions compare to check which fits the laptop

Ignore. I’ve done it. Phew. Although I may or may not need a new hood to replace a torn one

Gabba isn’t waterproof or a jacket. But it is excellent at what it does.

^ +1000 Wear or pack the gilet every ride during Autumn and Winter. If I know some rain is a definite I’ll wear the Gabba jersey, and most likely still take the gilet too. Only if it will be belting down do I switch to a rain jacket

I’ve an Eastpak Tranverz Small. Lightweight for wheeled, sized-optimised for Ryanair. No specific section for a laptop although the back is hard-sided where the handle is.

They can write any random crap on their website. Doesn’t mean that it trumps your statutory rights – return to the shop to sort out because your contract is with them, not HP

yeah Dunc, actually getting any road tyre on is a significant struggle when they are new and stiff

I have for over six months. Around Edinburgh, Mid- and East-Lothian, which can be very potholey.

I did have some reservations about actually putting a BIGGER tyre on after reading this, who know what they are on about, but then just ignored it and it has been fine with road and CX tyres…
Some of this “hoop-wise” deformation can be avoided by using dedicated “tubular-clincher” tyres from Hutchinson, Tufo, Schwalbe etc, but there is still a noticeable compressive effect at very high pressures on a rim not able to take it. (We have ruled out Stan’s Grail rim for this reason, and won’t perform any remedial work on wheels designed for cyclocross which are being used with road tyres: Kinesis Crosslight V3 for example).

I had an affinity for design when at school and had got 90+% in previous exams, my Dad was a draftsman when I was young, I liked the clicky pencils.

Choosing GCSE classes for the final two years at Secondary School, I was told that I had to choose French or German (due to the constraints of my class scheduling) rather than be able to do the Design/Tech Drawing GCSE. I chose German, didn’t try, got an E.

Give me a child until he is seven and I will show you the man.
This still rankles me, aged 41. What could have been…maybe appearing on Grand Designs as the oddly-shaped glasses wearing architect…

I’ve never done either but have signed up for a Sportive because the closed road aspect of this one is something I want to experience and so thought it worth paying for once. Audaxs don’t have closed roads, do they?

your present needn’t be a material possession, your present could be time away to ride your bike without the responsibilities of marriage or fatherhood. That’s what I had…. & a bike frame.

Experiences usually last longer than things. I had a skills day for my 40th. ….And bought myself a carbon CX bike
