Not much good for winter but when my helmet gets smelly I hang it out in the sun and the UV kills the bacteria eliminating the smell.
As for shoes…..the wife makes me spray them liberally with fabrizee!

Netlon stapled to rafters, glass wool packed in behind it.
Remember you’ll need to vent the roof space though…..

Remember iSO 5 is released in 90 minutes or so.

From what I’ve read its supposed to narrow the gap between iSO and android even further!

    PS….avoid Blackberry ;-)

For anyone worried about the lack of flash on iPad try the Skyfire app. Using it on my iPhone and it allows me to view certain select movies in flash ;)

Try your local Mountain Rescue and see if they’d be willing to cover the event!

    Well said Jim.
The longer this thread goes the more I’m beginning to wonder if part of the issue is the fact that there is no one there maintaing the trails anymore. Have people suddenly realised that repairs and maintenance don’t happen by themselves?
I still get a feeling of satisfaction when riding trails I helped to build…what do other people feel when they ride them?
Perhaps a greater involvement from the masses during the golden age of Bike:Blairadam could have avoided this witch hunt!
And as a few folk have already said, yes the trail is cut up, maybe the students should have done something, but it IS ridable….. And if I can ride it so can you :-)

Might be worth a ride this weekend to see how a week of blowing wind and rising temperatures have treated the trails….as long as the rain holds off!

Can anyone tell me the story behind the engraved brickwork? Touch not the cat and a picture of a dragon? Looks real nice…

Something to do with the brickworks that used to be in the woods and a reference to the beast IIRC.

As long as they jetwash from the ridge to the eaves there is no problem.
Do it the other way, especially on older slate roofs, you can end up with a rain storm in your atic and soggy ceilings :)
As mentioned above it’s 90% cosmetic but the sealer will stop the tile absorbing water thus prolonging it’s already long life!

    MCM
The trailbuilding session preceding the race was the exception not the rule. Unfortunately it’s easy to get excited about future development but the development is limited when you have the same 3/4 people struggling to build/maintain km’s of natural trails.
I remember being 1 of only 2 who spent an evening barrowing hardcore and completing the boardwalk in the East Boundary section!

IIRC following the Blast the commission began a fairly sustained logging program which had repercussions throughout the Forrest.
The group decided to lay off trailbuilding during this period as no one was sure what lines would survive.
The other problem was the ever decreasing number of volunteers turning up for trailbuilding sessions. I’m sure mcmoonter will agree that it was the same few faces each time. Pretty poor showing when you considder the number of regular riders using Blairadam!
For anyone questioning the whereabouts of the funds raised through the Blast I’d be willing to stake my bike on the fact that they are sitting in the bank awaiting their next move.
Whether this is through trail maintenance (possibly not due to lack of volunteers) or some other means will I’m sure be revealed in time. I note that Bike:Blairadam subscribers have recently been mailed a link for a new website so something is happening!
I guess we just have to wait and see…

MT15 is a really nice wheel untill you need to replace the spokes.
I broke 4 last year and there were none in the country. Shimano then preceeded to ship them one at a time at a cost of £5.50 each.
IIRC it took about 4 months and £40 odd quid to get my wheel back on the road…..I soon forked out on some handbuilt wheels with regular spokes :)

Having said that, there are some nice spots round about – Dunblane and Bridge of Earn immediately spring to mind.

I suspect that should read Bridge of Allan!

    Scandal or 456?
I’ve got an 18″ 456 in the pink and it accented with blue pro II’s, blue floating rotors, blue Skewers, blue seat clamp, blue spacers and blue lock ons for the grips….which are pink :)
Looks pretty good IMO, will post a picture tomorrow when I’m at a PC.

Forget it – they’ll wear such that the section of the tyre squares which makes cornering more and more interesting.

Will they not wear when cornering as well (possible more when cornering due to scrubbing accross the tarmac), therefore retaining a rounded profile!

Any old excuse to show her off.

If its not pink, its black or blue. What you can’t see are the blue Pro II’s and pink Superstar grips with blue locking clamps :)

Would your employer not be better to “take ownership” of the bike at the end of your hire period, retain ownership on paper for the 31months and then write the asset off (let you keep it)…at least that is my grand plan!
Means you can still get another bike in the meantime :)

    Edinburgh Bike Co-op now £47.99.

Got one for my Christmas and it seems reasonable enough for my needs. The web page has a couple of decent reviews on it.
