Yep very good, I use mine for biking weekends
Go up I size though, I only sleep in mine but got a 3 man one which is spot on as it folds down so small

NN are very good but if your riding rocky stuff get the double defense version.
the snakeskin casing is fine around the side walls but I put 3 holes in mine around the tread before swapping it out

Sounds like a play in a pivot or worn bushing Neil very distinctive

Mines just gone back as well, tried an air can service first which didn’t help.
It’s really annoying and as a friend mentioned you need to get it sorted as it may mask other unknown issues

I’m a Crookes local, loads of really good riding from bolehills out to fox hagg and back, most of the good stuff you really need to explore or be shown but theres a couple of hours of some amazing technical trails around the area, but as noted the best route ends in a lovely up hill road climb.

Tend to ride from my house in the week so give us a shout if you fancy a ride

OPUSONE’s route looks great I fancy that but getting the train from sheff to stockport

I much prefer going out along Rushup. Jacobs as a descent is rubbish primarily because of the sheer bloody awful ride/push all the way up from the bottom of Coldwell Clough. Descending Jacobs in no way makes up for that climb!

Madness, it’s certainly a pain since they put the bloody cobbles down but it’s still well worth it as for me this is my fav descent in the dark peak.

Usually start on the broken road for these rides, you can basically do 3 or 4 ups and downs but with a lot of up.

Start on broken road and climb up to mam
    Down green lands
    Upto hollins cross
    Down backtor
Upto hollins again and we normally then do the bw from hollins to the back of Castleton
Or alternatively from hollins ride over to rushup and cross the road at the bottom and ride to cavedale

I’d love a big cold snap, icy cold morning on bike

+1 on this I can’t really remember wanting it to get much colder.
Fingers crossed for some serious arctic fronts coming soon.

**** off have you had a bike that long

    But he has changed:
    3 sets of forks
    2 different shocks
    26″ wheels
    650b wheels
26″ on the front 650b on the back
650b on the front 26″ on the back
    2 different dropper posts

I know he is dying for a bronson

Put 170 cranks on mine and increased the fork to 150, loads better now

Ahh I got them from tredz also, the reason I bought from them is they told me on the phone that if they need to be returned then they would replace / refund straight away whilst they send them off to Madison for inspection.

I realise this silo but all my lower back is dry, as is the top of the inside of the shorts (which is a different material to the bum)
But my bib pad is saturated and freezing.
Its like the grit and pressure is pushing the water through
I didn’t want to proof them as they are brand new and could potentially void the warrenty etc,

NBITF the waterproof ones or the addict with the dwr rear end?

It suggests that the saddle are is the same material as well

Feedback on these, got the waterproof ones in med they came up a little small but still ok.
Quality looks good although the chunky zips on the pockets we’re pretty Sharp edged and hurt my hands.

First ride: all of the short material that feels like a water proof material works very well, Unfortunately whilst the 3 layer material on the saddle area appears to be pretty tough it was not water proof at all and my arse got a drenching.

So they have gone back under warrenty like the pish altura addicts before them.

On advice from the store I’ve now just bought some endura mt500 II waterproof shorts.
Initial impressions are they are more like an overshort in feel and design (no buttons or zipped pockets, just a drawstring) but that’s not a bad thing as they are very light, nicely cut (slim, no excess at the crotch and just over the knee) and comfy (but pretty noisy).
Overall I’m impressed and hopefully they will keep my bum dry and the peak grit won’t destroy the saddle area.

I mention garburn to some one who is joining me who has done it before, he feels it’s not worth it anymore.
Won’t it be snowy anyhow that high?

Just watched the vid on the pedal north site for that loop and although I can see why it’s all weather it doesn’t look that ehh interesting (resurfaced hard pack and country lanes)
Any other loops worth looking at?

One of the best low-level all-weather loops I know is the Oxen Fell / Iron Keld / Little Langdale / Loughrigg Terrace loop from Ambleside although I’m not sure what access is like to that area at the moment.
Brilliant little loop though, never too high, has some cracking trails and is almost all on rock so although it can get VERY wet, it’s never muddy wet. Most of it is fairly sheltered too although Oxen Fell can be a bit bleak in really foul weather.
Also has the options to cut it short at several points and just head for home

Anyone know if the above is similar to this, any suggestions and route time

I’ve got the Orange one, think they forgot to put the antibacterial stuff in as it stinks like the old smelly helly’s after every ride.
Unless mines a one off I would avoid

As mentioned sleeping after such a late ride may will be difficult.
At the latest I get back in at 9.30, by the time you have put the bike away and had a shower and relaxed for a bit it’s close to 12.

Kinder winter route is a must, 90% on rock no mud but a few puddles to be expected.
But don’t do it anti clock wise (up jacobs) like almost every group we have seen recently appears to be

    Edit as per nbt’s route

Nope, I did the most obvious thing for my kids, I actually went to see it fist and made the decision that it’s Definatley a 12a and not suitable for my star wars crazy 4 year old.

    From the bbfc

    VIOLENCE:
There are frequent scenes of moderate violence

Took him to see snoopy instead which was much more age appropriate and had almost no moderate violence, was realy good.

A pair of Northwave celius gtx boots was my Christmas present to myself this year.
I’m amazed at how good they are compared to the spesh defroster ones I used before.
Warm, dry and a brilliant sole (if you don’t want to walk much anyhow)
I’m also happily surprised at the vibration damping in the sole.
Flying down Jacobs this week they felt like my best pair of slippers

Couple of months of extensive very wet and gritty use of sram 11 speed here in the peaks and it’s still running as new.
Ran shimano xt 10 speed with an expander before and the sram 11 speed is significantly better, if I can afford to replace the parts when worn is a different story though.

I’m a 9 and the 43 fitted me pretty well but after many years of winter boot experiance I personally find that my feet get considerably warmer with a little extra wiggle room so I’ve just bought a pair of celius’ s in 43 which are great on the bike

    jameswilliams54
    Free Member

I suffer from cold toes to and bought a pair of the NW celius from evens last week (price matched to wiggle) wore them twice now and for cycling they are brilliant really warm (Definatley size up) with a pair of merino socks.
Only downside is they are not great to walk in, especially in the peaks were I ride.
But overall they are miles better than the spesh defrosters that they replaced.

    30.1 X 41 X 6.5mm 36″ by 45″ for the top (type 1 ss)
    40 X 51.8 X 8mm 36″ by 45″ for the lower (type 4 ss)

Yeah I found the above but I thought the head tube dimensions on that pdf were incorrect for mine, but looking at it again they are noted as OD and the drawing shows in the internal to be 44/56.
    Cheers
