Another vote for the evoc enduro

I’ve also got the 16L blackline one and found it to be the best back pack I’ve used.

Used it for a couple of Enduro races and whilst it’s warm it’s very stable and comfortable and appears to eliminate the lower back pain I get when using packs.

Would like to get a smaller one also at some point.

Bought the super DH when on offer a CRC a couple of months ago, including a BC voucher I got almost 40% off.

Historically the super (or any bell) has never fitted me but their new sizing is way better.

It’s a brilliant bit of kit and defiantly one of my fav helmets.

The fit is spot on, it’s really comfy, the air flow and ventilation is outstanding for the type of helmet (even with the chin bar on), the magnetic clip on the chin strap (why doesn’t every helmet come with this) and the moisture system really does pull all that sweat to the front of the helmet where it drips in front of your eyes rather than in them.

I’ve had both and ride in the peak mainly, with frequent trips to lakes also.

Dinged lots of other rims in the past but not either of these.

With very similar builds I would say the 511’s do feel slightly stiffer to me with the 481’s being slightly lighter.

So not much difference between them and both are excellent.

If your a heavier rider then the extra strength and peace of mind of the 511’s may be the way to go and Visa Versa.

I run DHR II exo 2.5 wt mostly all year round on the back but thought I’d try an aggressor this summer.

I got the an aggressor in the same casing as the above and have now put 3 holes in it already (two in the peak and one in the lakes)

Two of which are around the tread of the tyre.

I’m running the same pressures as the DHRII

I’ve read the same elsewhere also, so just be careful if you ride rocky trails.

Mines coming off this weekend and the DHRII going back on.

Martin that was exactly the comments of all the other riders also.

They are mostly in positions at the bottum of steep angled turns making it difficult to raise the front wheel.

After reading this last week we completely forgot about it and tried to get down it on Sat.

Currently both the FP and BW are covered in huge bags full on stone almost all the way down both trails.

I’m in agreement that the sheer scale of works on both trails is well over the top and not in keeping with the natural trails around the area.

The new water bars on the BW that have been put in are massive also.

After reading the update it appears that fix the fells consultation on this is similier to DCC’s on trails in the peak.

+1 Tifosi great value and quality.

Got a new pair of the camrocks recently and really impressed.

The non slip rubber around the ears and nose section works pretty well and if fogged the vents do clear it once you get some air flow.

Cheers SO, I tried mine down a rocky trail (cavedale) with the same pressures as you noted tonight and everything felt great.

Just need to test it out on Potatoe Alley and Cut Gate to really test it out as these two trails are usually the source of my rim denting.

Fitted some 50mm backer Rod on my rear 30mm ID rim last night which is running a 2.5 WT Exo maxxis aggressor

Cut in half as can’t see how you can get a full Rod in there.

One half of a 2m Rod fitted almost perfectly.

What kind of pressures have you been running on the rear with this in?

I’m a serial rim dinger riding mainly in the peak.

Also I went overboard and bought 20m of the stuff which will last for years so if anyone in Sheffield (S10) wants a of 2m section for the measly cost of £2.50 let me know.

Saxon rider Unfortunately the problem you may have is that pedal cover (and others) will only usually cover if you have one years no claims.

It sucks that your current provider won’t help as you will now have to pay a heavy premium for not having any no claims.

It may be that you have to just pay a high premium for the next year and then swap over to pedal cover etc.

This is currently what I’ve needed to do also btw with my existing insurer.

Hi OP sorry to hear about the crap news again.

there are some good comments above but I would strongly advise speaking to some security speacialists going forward.

Steve Briggs at https://securityforbikes.com was really helpful in going through what i did wrong after I got robbed (which in hindsight was rubbish to be fair) and advising (not just on their products) on how to improve things.

As general rule if they where successful last time then you need to double everything as a minimal.

So lots of coach bolts, shed bars, high end hasps, ground anchors, multiple chains and closed shackle padlocks.

And then add an independent internal shed alarm along with others sensors linked to the house alarm.

Also CCTV may help as a deterrent (SYP won’t even come out to investigate without CCTV).

Either way making your property less likely to get robbed again can be done but it can come at quite a high cost (of course there are plenty of less legal ways in which it can be also be achieved)

I’m hoing to echo ehrob, MT5’s with the HC single finger upgrade are fantastic.

Just bought a second pair for a new bike, to replace the Guides it came with.

Not sure it’s clear from the above but you can respond to to consultations by going to lomks above and scrolling down to questionaire link

    For chapel it’s

Q1)  pleade tell us how the scheme, if implemented, may affect your use and/or enjoyment of the route.

Q2) Do you support the scheme (Y/N)

Q3) please can you tell us why you feel the way you do.

Q4) Do you think the scheme could be improved (Y/N)

BWD has got it spot on and most of what he notes was in my response to the above.

Personally I’d be reluctant to store a decent bike in a shed in the first place

See above it does not matter if it’s in your shed, celler or livingroom unfortunately there had been cases or robberies from all 3 recently.

Personally I’d be reluctant to store a decent bike in my house in the first place as I have a young family that are much more important than my bike.

I got this fork with a remedy RSL recently, mine is setup almost identically to dskelly81.

The default HSL seems to be setup ok for me and doesn’t feel to brake divey whilst still being pretty plush.

It’s definitely a fork that stars to come alive once you are giving it some beans.

2 step is absolutely pointless though and I’ve never used it.

Yep it did snow this morning for a couple of hours

As the temp is around 5deg c though it quickly melted

It’s very very wet out on the trails currently and mushy snow with mud and some drifts makes it hard going at times

I would look at the freerider pro tbh I think they  nailed it with this model for me.

Slightly stiffer sole but still very comfortable, grippy and great for walking in.

The uppers are more like a soft plastic material so they are both pretty warm but also really tough and hard wearing.

Dry out quicker than most of the other models

Just worth checking that the links on the chain go through each other otherwise you can’t use a decent shackle padlock (like a squire).

Also check if the chain comes with a solid secure security cert like the almax and the pragmasis ones do otherwise insurance may not cover the item.

Also from my experience last month a 12mm chain is useless to protect anything.

    Poah

As noted they said it’s really based the on the value of your of bike as to how much you should spend and two is always better.

But they also said they have had customers report that 19mm chains have been grinded.

    jameswilliams54
    Free Member

Securiuty for bikes here to , they have always given me customer service well beyond what they need to.

After I got broken into recently they took the time to review what I did wrong originally and to advise on really improving things next time.

Just to note that I had the 13mm chain and the scrotes went through it with a grinder in Mins

So depending on the value of your bike(s) it worth investing in the biggest one you can afford (or get two)

    I just got a DHF 2.5 WT 3C and a DHR 2 2.4 WT dual from

    https://www.commencal-store.co.uk/Mobile/MBSearch.asp?search=Maxxis

They had the full selection in stock

They where on sale the other week for £74 for the pair, arrived in a couple of days.
    OEM so no packaging etc.

Air compressor. Less than £100 from Lidl.

Can also be used for tubeless etc…

Be careful with this approach as most off the shelf compressors will not have a class rating for oil and eater vapour carryover so you could be spraying fine mists of both onto brake pads / rotors etc

Judging by the foot prints on my neighbour’s garden they are big fellas

Spent today doing some repairs and upgrades and I have to agree with Digby that they must be relatively strong blokes judging by how they managed to bend a pretty hefty hasp out the way.

    – what if I’d disturbed them whilst taking the rubbish out to the bins

This is also bothering me, if they are ok breaking in at 7.30 at night with all the lights on (as well as both neibours) then they are either very desperate or confident that if confronted they can deal with it.

Thanks to the usual email lot, Digby, James and Ryan at pedals and also Steve at Bike security, all have gone well out of their way to help out and give advice.

No sign of the police at all as of yet btw.

Especially gutted for ed (and his customers) at airdrop also.
Hopefully some of these bikes can be found.

Its mental whilst I watching TV with the house lit up and Xmas tree on
They broke through both a hasp and a mortice lock and also grinded through a gold standard pragmasis chain without anyone hearing anything
I must of missed them by minutes as when I noticed the bin they had put by the back door to obscure the shed I ran out and found the cut chain still hot!!!

Before you buy anything else check out the gore tex usable lifetime warranty.

I sent the same jacker back after 3-4 years of very good use to berghaus as it was wetting through (even after re-proofing).
After inspection I got a full refund from the supplier

Replaced it with a Alp kit gravitas which is lighter but no where near as good

As the above notes there are hundreds of choices based on person preference (mine would be a benromach 10 or)

Best thing to do is find a good local pub that stocks a selection of whisky and try a wee dram of each from the whisky map shown above

Finally got round to buying a Rab vapourise recently kicking myself for not getting one years ago now.
Brilliant bit of kit which really works for me.

Alpkit Morphosis looks to be the same thing at a lower cost.
