It’s a Stif Morf. great bike! can take some massive tyre sizes too so could make it an almost fat bike when needed. they’ve just made a 29er too the “Squatch” well worth a look!
haha yeah i’m starting to very much look forward to warm rides and much more daylight to ride in.

Great snowy photos. We’ve had lots up in North Yorkshire so far this winter. Got lots of photos but not sure how to upload them to here. Whats everyone using to upload photos to nowadays?

Absolutely great film! A good insight into the minds of the TT racers. Those guys are nuts! I’d say they must be so brave but i think its more a case of stupidity. ( i have a Lot of respect for their skill!) would have loved to have seen Guy win one but I’d rather he stay alive. Would love to go and watch in person one day.

Good call. I much prefer to build bike up myself. As others have said you can get a better bike for less money and the satisfaction of doing it yourself. You tube is a great resource for any bits your unsure of how to do.
I’m after a surly myself and live in North Yorkshire where we have at least 2 surly dealers that i know of but nothing in stock. Was hoping to get an ice cream truck or a Wednesday as i fancy building up a fat bike for winter. 🙂

Same here in nidderdale north York’s mate 🙁 why do some people have no respect for others, the environment and the beautiful surroundings they seem to enjoy coming to, to leave all this shit behind!

Living in nidderdale AONB litter being left is a real issue and bug bear of mine and other locals. So much has been going on lately too, i. Put it down to the fact that it was only “the idiots” that are driving out to places near me like Brimham rocks to enjoy the scenery but then leaving piles of their rubbish behind! I just don’t get it! This place isn’t going to be a nice place to drive out to if people keep leaving all their rubbish behind. Also I know most of us cyclists are good decent people that don’t leave rubbish too but unfortunately i do see a lot of discarded gel rappers, co2 canisters etc at the side of the road when I ride into work 🙁 and it does give us a bad name 🙁 I’ve also come across bar tape that was chucked into the verge (if your gonna go to the effort of removing it from your bike because it was coming loose, at least put it in your pocket take it home with you. Sadly a lot of people like to complain about cyclists for some reason, lets not give them any other reasons.

🙁 tragic indeed. Thoughts to family , friends and all fellow daily commuters and cyclists. Unfortunately there are drivers out there that see cyclists as an inconvenience and don’t want to wait for a safe place to pass. Thankfully most are considerate but it only takes one…… 🙁 rest in peace you two.

I love in nidderdale which is just outside the dales technically but it’s an amazing place to visit with lots of riding and things to do for the kids. Check it out.

Decathlon is a good shout, but i’m gonna throw “the works” in there too. can walk out with bags of stuff that you didnt go in for spending very little in the process. cheap art supplies always get me 🙂
as for Bike shops its got to be my LBS Stif cycles. super lucky to have them 2 mins down the road 🙂

out of those choices, id go with the HT nukeproof. any bike is going to be fun to get out and ride on (took my child towing alloy 26″er round the red routes of dalby last weekend and had a blast) but i do like those nukeproofs. sure you could get a FS and upgrade it later down the line but it sounds like from the sort of riding you do and your budget, a hardtail may be the better option. Theres something very fun about ragging around on a 27.5″ hardtail.
why not see if theres any bike demo going on near you and try out a full sus and a ht and see if that helps you decide which way to go.

awesome! thanks for the help. means i can get it built up now on the cheap and then at some point in the future convert to 29er/27.5+ setup.

i was planning to run it with 27.5″ wheels too as i have a set from another bike that will work so surely clearance wont be an issue as the clearance is based around 29er/27.5+ tyres. it was more a case of will a 27.5 fork on it massively change the geometry and make it not great to ride.

nice! looks good!, i’m currently in the process of whitewashing walls and floor of my garage to keep things a bit less dusty. can i post garage pics here, or is it purely sheds? if so i’ll give you some before’s and in about 2 months time when i manage to finish it i can post the afters 🙂
