Very cold and quite flat. The minttu is good though.

Are you using 3 rings? I think some (all?) SLX mechs are for double and bash

Early days with my Pitch but also impressed with the RP2 – can’t say I notice the Propedal making much difference though – don’t think I’ll bother with coil shock

The first 5 are the hardest, after that it tastes OK

Nice one GrumpyDave that works well!

I wouldn’t bother. I put a 20mm spacer in mine and now they sit at 135mm rather than 145mm (without sag).

Thanks guys – I bought the Pitch frame only and I’ve never actually seen one built up other than in photos – will have a look for this hole later!

Ah OK maybe I haven’t spotted that hole – I assume you don’t mean one of the 3 clips on the downtube that hold all 3 cables?

    Thanks Grumm

Yes clips is probably a better description than stops

Rear mech is fine I’ve just never run a full length outer all the way to a front mech before, but I supposed it should be OK

Steve has the new laptop got wireless? If so I would use that to connect to the home hub instead

    Cheers all

It doesn’t lock out so it’s not that!

No sag-o-meter but the O-ring is there so I’ll just have to play around with some pressures.

Top tube lengths are almost the same so with a long enough post 16″ would be fine but personally I would go with 18″

Like my Vanillas with QR15 Rob – got them from CRC when they were cheap

You can get a black version of the Hope one from eBay for less – Bikefridge is the seller

Look on CRC for the Hope IS +20mm adaptor – that will do it

Formula FX is better but not sure they will ever flex quite as much as a normal saddle

I’ve just bought a Large Pitch frame but not built it up yet – I’m 6 foot – it does “look” long and the geometry would bear that out but with a 60-70mm stem I’m expecting it to be OK

Sorted Samuri thanks – it was the Netgear s/w that was causing the problem – as soon as I let XP manage the connection everything worked – cheers

OK thanks but doesn’t raising the bars through higher rise/more spacers also make descending easier and climbing harder?

I have a Xen – tried a Flux last year and found it to be hotter, heavier and not as comfy. Also have a Hex which if anything is cooler than the Xen.

Don’t bother with carbon unless you never change the height of your saddle

Ah thanks – looks like my shim extends about 10mm below the minimum insertion hole in my seat tube

Ooh that’s a good point – even if the post itself is well below the junction?

    Ti456 is an 18″

    jamesgarbett

Nah need to keep 2 bikes as now and again they get used by a couple of bikeless mates. Also the Pitch would be overkill for some of the riding I do but I want to keep it to hopefully improve downhill and take it to the Alps next year. Whichever hardtail I keep will also double as a commuter with road wheels on it. The head says sell the 456, the heart says sell the Scandal. Putting the 120mm forks on the 456 might be an idea though…

    jamesgarbett

Well Pitch and 456 both have 140mm forks, Scandal has 120mm so I suppose the 456 should go but it is such a nice bike!

That’s weird Vinny – not arguing with your findings but it doesn’t seem logical that a longer fork would make climbing easier – unless the 140mm Floats are actually shorter a-c than the 130mm Revs?
