Some great advice on here but I can’t advocate running a dishwasher at night to take advantage of cheap electricity after what happened to some friends of mine

Does the strength of the line actual mean anything?

We had our Pfizer boosters last night – booked online on Monday – apparently we were 2 days early (180 days) but they honoured it as the system had allowed us to book – had we been walk-ins we would have been turned away – it’s a huge vaccination centre but there was hardly anyone there at 1830 last night

I’ve been on Ramipril for years – no obvious side effects – to start with I had the dry cough which is common but that went after a week or two
Now on Amlodipine as well – ankles are a bit swollen
No other issues with the meds after about 13 years of taking them
Fitness has improved at same time but not convinced that alone would get BP down
Family history of heart disease so I was pretty keen to get BP down asap once it was diagnosed

Cash buyers really are king at the moment. Doesn’t matter if it really is cash or cash+mortgage. The key thing is not having a chain. So many sales are falling through at the moment especially as the latest stamp duty deadline approaches. Around here a true cash buyer will often trump someone who makes a higher offer but has somewhere to sell first.

I’ve used John Charcol in the past and thought they were pretty good

These days the mortgage is with Barclays and they gave me the mobile number of one of their customer liaison people (or something) and she is really excellent – it cuts out all the call centre nonsense that you usually get with banks these days

No white line here so maybe a “Please do not park here – EV charging” sign would discourage anyone – not that parking has ever been a problem for the last 9 years we’ve lived here

Well in my case we’re talking a distance of around a metre for the cable to run from the wall to the car – as I said there is no footpath
Presumably the govt has thought this through as I guess it will affect a lot of people once petrol/diesel cars are phased out?

The charger would be on my property but at the side of a public road, which is where I would need to park to use it
    There is no footpath
I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times someone has parked on the road outside my house (excluding delivery drivers for a few minutes)

I’m 49 and had az a couple of weeks ago
About 7 hours later started shivering
Temp was up and spent all night sweating
Felt rough the next morning but paracetamol did the trick
    Felt fine the day after

Thanks – need to drag it out to have a proper look – would rather not go electric as it seems daft not to make use of the hot water in the GCH – I wonder if the flexi pipes have got blocked or collapsed inside

Or it could be the thermostat

I did this late last year and it was a bit of a hybrid. No way I would pay £12K. I dealt with probate but then used a financial adviser to complete the IHT forms for £500. I suppose with hindsight I paid him £500 to make sure the right numbers went in the right boxes as I did all the research to get the numbers in the first place. So probably could have done it all and saved £500 but it was reassuring to have a 2nd pair of experienced eyes on it especially as it was quite a complex estate

Their website says no cash or cheque deposits permitted?

The reality is the entity where this money is coming from in the US are being very intransigent – almost like they’re stuck in the 1970s

    Thanks all

It’s cheque only – no alternative

So Transferwise won’t work other wise I would be using TorFX who I’ve used in the past for electronic payments from USD

The housing market will dampen down next year once the stamp duty holiday comes and goes. We’re moving in 2021 and I’m hoping prices might start to slide a little

Anyone had trouble with a Roccbox?

Ours was fine for the first few months last summer. We had a break from using it and by then it had turned into a flamethrower. Gozney replaced the burner but the 2nd one has gone the same way – flames coming out the front of the oven when on the highest setting. 3rd burner is on its way

Nothing special just a few primes and a zoom

I was more thinking about whether using them on an EOS M with an adaptor would feel rather imbalanced

We play footie on 3G and are asked to wear studs

No blades or flat sole allowed

Think it can damage the pitch but also heard blades can get stuck and cause injuries

No issues with trust here but there was a suggestion that either there was a legal requirement to set up a separate account and/or some banks would question some of the sums involved and we might trigger some kind of unusual account activity alert

Thanks yes I’m doing all the probate stuff although there are 2 other executors

Have been advised that it might be easier to use HSBC as that’s who the deceased banked with (I’m with Lloyds)

We played football (6 a side) outside last night for the first time since March – the people who own the pitch we hire (attached to a school) had a bunch of rules we had to follow, including that one of us had to keep a record of the names and phone numbers of all players

So I guess it’s “organized” but only in so much as we have a Whatsapp group we use to work out who’s available to play

Conversely we can’t start playing squash again as the local leisure centre is still going through the risk assessment process

I tried a Vitus full sus ebike twice for a month each

One had the e8000 the other the e7000

I actually preferred the e7000 as it felt more natural

I ended buying a Whyte instead as I had a local dealer and was concerned about any problems

The Vitus bikes are great value unless something goes wrong. Not sure what CRC/Wiggle are like with warranty support

Managed to get a test for our daughter yesterday afternoon at a walk in centre in Oldham, after she was sent home from school with a cough on Friday

Took quite a long time on the website on Sat and Sun to get a test but Oldham only 40 mins away in the car

Was very quiet at the test centre – lady said results in 24 hours but no sign yet

Also for the old shape XC90 more than 90% of them sold were diesel automatics

Not sure if the same is true for new shape and no problem if you are buying new
