just spotted this on TF website. that might explain why I couldn’t fit the that set I had, as they were grey.

“Rock Shox Seal Kit 35mm (grey). Comprises wiper seals and foams.

Rock Shox Seal Kit 35mm (black). Comprises wiper seals and foams. Choose the black seals if you are running the 2014+ Pike & Lyriks.”

thanks for the replies, the tacx flow T2240 is the model that keeps popping up through my google research. So that looks the cheapest option at £190 ish to give it a go with a smart turbo trainer.

    3rd option is the four.

    it looks lovely

Just use the 140 and run some extra sag

If a tyre goes wobbly it means the carcass is failing, either due to external damage or internal failure. Bin it.

My experience correlates with that. Had a Hans Dampf that was a sod to seat on the rear and took a lot more psi than usual to get the ‘pops’
Next ride out the sidewall blew out

again had the same issue with a maxxis ardent,. as mentioned by a few others I sent it back and got a replacement. but did take a load of emails and getting sent around the houses

    woddle on the tyre

you can hear it let go and 1.36 ish and then it rubs the frame for teh rest of the run

i have a cane creek inline. initial reliability aside (now sorted) it is awesome. and the new one is out now so id look at that. gonna send mine to tf tuned to get the new internals installed also the coil IL looks rad.

same as above, just been email TF about the updated parts. its the new air can and black shaft too 🙂

I also have the pike up front which I’ve changed the air shaft to make it 160mm and its riding great

k ,thanks for the replies. we are going to get an amazon tv stick anyway and I did some more reading and you can load it onto that. so i’ll try loading it on and see what its like.

I have been thinking about a bush kit (plus mine have worn out, so the perfect time) I have also replaced the air shaft on my pikes to take them from 150mm upto 160mm . but I don’t think I have really slacked it out as I run a tad more sag now to let it track the ground better

edit – I have the inline, it now has the blue bit out of the bottom of the aircan (something was updated from cranecreek, and mine was fixed this time last year.) but it always felt good using the base settings

    if it was me.

buy a property to rent outright.
    get a tenant in it
then mortgage the property and buy a second property.
the rent from the first will pay the mortgage the 2nd house is rent to go into your annual income.
You should be able to get the mortgage over in a 10 year period at worse 15 years.
then in 10years you have two properties paying you an income but also the assets increasing in value

so the shop I popped to didn’t have a 12mm, So I ordered a cheap one off ebay. which turned up today but it doesn’t fit lol. So guessing it must be 11mm.

k thanks. i’ll see if the clean up sorts it, then i’ll pop down bike shop with it for a replacement. thanks

I’ve had two mates break a number of these. they go back, new set comes and then the rim lets go.

    I wouldn’t bother at all

yes wookie, you may have answered my next question. I’ve just popped down and took the cassette off, axle has been removed using the cone spanners and bearing are all sat in a shot glass lol. but ye a 10mm was just banging around in there. 12mm might do the job.

also agree wookie, I did think cleaning it might not work out, but its worth a try and I need to figure out to take it off to fit a new one anyway.

i’ll try a 12mm later (if I’ve got one! for some reason I think 10mm might be the biggest in the set I use) on this evening, got to go out now. fingers crossed

actually following this I have just ordered everything to convert the wifes to 1×11 using sram nx cost 150 but i’ll be using the old crank arms.
tredz £120 for cassette, shifter and mech
    CRC £9.99 chain
    works components chain ring £20

doing a bit more searching and I think it might be cup and cone.
    so I take it,
    cassette off
    QR axle out
and 10mm allen in the drive side?

isn’t the sram nx 11 speed the easiest option?

It’ll be worth looking at the super basic GoPro hero which they release a year or so back. I had an old hero 2 but the battery was going and the new budget hero was defo better quality.
I got it new for £99

Here is link to me using it. bd sure to change the quality on YouTube as it starts playing the videos in lower Quality https://youtu.be/76ussfP9Kow

K thanks for the replies. I’ll just leave till they are spent. And I think I’ll be taking it to the shop, as the DT swiss service kit with the specific tool is near £200 😯

    jamesg55

    Sram Roam 50.
I did a but of googling earlier and looking at the sram service guide they tell you to get a DT swiss service kit with specific tools. So assuming the sram hubs on the rail and roam – 50 & 60 models use DT swiss internals

@jambalaya Ye the classic just looking at what I’m going crash into but thanks for the comments. I’ll have to try and talk a riding mate into being a camera man 🙂

@panzerjager again thanks for the comments. The GoPro is actually the super basic GoPro hero (the one just over £100) I had a GoPro hero 2 for a number of years and quality on that was fine and then the spec on this was slightly better and at that point the GoPro 2 were still selling on eBay for £90/95 so I got a brand new unit which was slightly better quality for hardly any extra cost.

anyone else had any issues installing the TF tuned seals?

    jamesg55
    Free Member

had the same issue while doing mine. I had ordered some new seals from TF tuning. the new seals do have lip to stop you pushing them too far down. but I couldn’t get them into the lowers at all. they were a really tight fit and I could only get half the seal in. so gave up and cleaned and reinstalled the old ones. but I did push mine in a tad too far and out now just past flush. lol
