Personally, I find the burgtec penthouse pedals sit far too close to the crank arm… causing your feet to rub the crank arm.

Turn off auto save in office documents when saving to sharepoint.

It may keep things up to date, also means that the document automatically saves any change as you go through, even if unintended.

Yes, you can go and sort through version histories etc. but it is still a stupid idea.

If the forks hold air I wouldn’t even bother with a fix. Ride them for a bit and see how they go 👍

Errr, just to correct you (as I can’t help it), it won’t be air that they struggle to hold. Lower leg oil… may seep out and also the scratch may damage the dust seals + foam o-rings.

If any oil does seep out or you get some additional stiction, Could just get some very fine sandpaper, remove any edges and put some clear coat on the sanded bit, will last for years.

When we’ve got Remain back and the Tories, I will be taking a trip down the street to see some of the homeless and telling them of how their lives have now been changed for the better because some people will never vote for Labour but seem to be happy with the EU+Tories which we all know has been so incredibly successful and beneficial for society as a whole.

    Sorry, what does this mean?

I’ve tried reading it several times but still can’t get my head round it.

Depends on the riding you like…

Up ladybower way there’s les arcs, Narnia, ‘quick before it’s destroyed’ and lots of cheeky lines cut in around there.

Or if you just like traditional in t’hills riding around, then there’s stuff like win hill (which has a nice trail cutting down off the side of it).

I’d avoid things like potato alley, the beast… Just because they are just large rock fests which are more likely to flick up a rock and crack your bike, than be fun in anyway. Unless that’s your bag.

Such a wide range of things are categorised as antisemitic.

It can go from sheer hatred of Jewish people… Through to disagreeing with the policies of the Israeli government and their approach to the westbank, Palestine etc.

Somehow, the struggles of a people, racist behaviour and terribly unjust criticism of them has been confused with enforcing support for a highly radical and military active government.

I think the seal has gone, I’ve probably over tightened it. Not sure if it is a serviceable part or not.

    New caliper time I think…

    Sad situation.

If this country keeps voting in conservative governments who favour methods to reassert power divides between rich and poor to be as great as possible, enforced austerity etc. then this is what happens to the NHS.

Garmin Fenix 5S Plus here – think its great allround.

Without using the GPS, it gives about 4 days battery life. When using GPS, can do a 4 hour ride then get another 1.5 days out of it.

Expensive though – Approx. £500 but worth it.

If you aren’t going down the vintage route, Lagavulin is decent and readily available.

Very peaty, a bit more expensive than most ‘standard’ single malts.

As if a liteville is the right answer to anything other than pick a niche bike and list it.

I understand when people spend a lot of money on a car because it has a genuine functional benefit for them – a camper maybe or a 4×4 if you live somewhere it’ll make sense even – but I’m baffled as to why you’d want to throw £30K at something because it’s ‘posh’ or ‘nice’.

Because you’d prefer to spend the next X years of your life driving in a car that offers comfort, significantly enhanced functionality compared to a £10K car, also enhances the driving experience and most likely is safer, faster and handles better.

Also maybe you’d like a warranty for 5 years… and not to have to worry about it having been in a crash, that didn’t write-off the car therefore doesn’t show on an HPI check, that has been repaired (perhaps badly)… etc etc.

    Also, because you can?

Sorry if that sounded harsh. More referring to the fact canyon are trying to position themselves as the top enduro team… Pr, marketing, personnel involved.

The fun, rut slapping videos that the dudes do and top 30 race positioning doesn’t really fit with that. They clearly want top 10.

On the selling more bikes things, maybe… But most people buying direct bikes, outside of mountain bikers in the know, won’t have a clue who Joe Barnes is… But they will react to an advert with person X, ews winner on it.

Nothing against the dudes, I enjoy their vids.

    Struggling ews Racer, novelty videos.

Always seemed an odd fit for canyon with competition improving in the ews, especially because they’ve got some quick boys in the team again (since barel).

Seems a better fit with Orange who don’t really have a top end competitive presence.

Fox 36s, turn off/fully open hsc. Overly harsh at the best of times (not ridden 2019s to be fair).

Lyrik rc2s, HSC set to about 3 clicks.

Oil light on means the engine has been running without sufficient oil quantity, nothing to do with quality.

Id be concerned about long term engine damage.

Highly likely to be what services you have setup for Google assistant to use.

Guessing you are on a recent version of Android with Google assistant. Go to Google assistant settings, services, voice and video settings and confirm that Google assistant can use your telephone.

I’m guessing it is trying to use duo because there’s no number linked.

Compared to the Shorty 2.5 WT 3c exo I have on the front of my bike, yes. Which once again, is significantly faster than the shorty 2.5WT DD Maxxgrip I had on before it.

For an ‘enduro’ type tyre, its a fast roller up front.

    Just ride faster and harder.

I had a strive before my nomad. Can make it a hell of a lot of fun if you try… Depends where you ride as well.

The issue is that some people are self righteous and have preconceived opinions that have little basis in reality, yet feel the need to project those opinions onto others as if they are facts and they know better.

They exist man. You just have to have faith.

Funny how the E bike defence league never tire of recording how much they don’t give a shot about what the haters think. When I say funny I mean boring as ****.

    What a comical outlook…

Some dude starts a thread about how ebikes are for fat lazy People, rational people make rational explanations and then some pleb makes a comment insulting the people making rational points.

Do still see them as pointless as a like for like replacement for a traditional bike, you just can’t play with the trail, pump and make gaps in the same way.

From my limited time on an ebike, not sure I agree with this entirely… It was the cube 160mm e bike version of the stereo I used… Seemed plenty playful on the descents, different but I was popping off things, pumping into and out of corners etc.

Had the added bonus of making traverses nice and fun and plenty of airtime when usually it would have been head down and grinding. Also flat rock gardens became sources of extra pop and fun as well.

first of all I’m not against e bikes…

Let me guess, you’ve got friends who ride ebikes? Do you know any people of different ethnic backgrounds as well :p

Don’t have one but trialled one at Ard rock for a laugh… It was awesome fun blasting up the climbs… Doing what took me over an hour in 20 minutes… Meaning I got to do it again several times.

I love my fully human powered bikes…. But I want an ebike for those days where I just want to smash out as many downhills as I can.

Also I don’t just bike to get fit and get the occasional downhill in. I ride to get an adrenaline rush most of the time, the climbs are just a necessity (a rewarding one at times).

Local ride... About to head down wormstones

Ride cut short but good fun… More of an xc loop than I’d usually do but some good local descents – mill hill in high peak, lantern pike, shooting cabins in edale and wormstones.

@jaketurbo I grew up in Lymm too, when were you there? I can’t believe Lymm Dam hasn’t been brought up, that’s where I spent most of my youth! Not exactly Peak quality…

1981 (born) to about 1998. Then again for a few years after uni.

Depends on how you ride. I can’t get away with much less than a DH rim or sturdy carbon rims – on some Santa Cruz reserve 30’s that seem to be holding up.

Before that I destroyed some Stan’s flows, some Mavic deemax, hope enduros, 35ws etc.

Whereas my mates have kept Stan’s arch rims running nicely for years!

With all due respect to those who get a kick out of Delamere…

It isn’t 15-20 minutes drive from the Op. Without any traffic (never happens) it is 30 minutes away from Lymm, so 40 minutes away from Alty. For the sake of 10 minutes extra driving, go the other way towards the peaks.

There is no elevation at Delamere… You’ll be lucky to hit 1,000 feet after several hours riding.

Having said that, it all comes down to what you are after – if pootling round a forest track, looping similar areas, with some ‘hidden’ sections that don’t necessarily link together is what you want, then Delamere works – just getting out there on a bike and riding I guess. Clearly that does give some people a kick.

As also mentioned you can go and do a trail centre like Degla which is great if you want a big bmx track experience… That’s more on the hour mark in the Wrexham area. If you want something natural over there, jib off the trail centre and throw in things like mast descent.

If you want endless trails, where you can just keep on going, big climbs, big descents, loamy woods (i.e. ladybower Narnia), rocky tech fests and amazing views – head in the direction of the peaks. There’s treats before you get there (several referenced in this thread – Mellor cross/berms, hobson moor, etherow, alphin pike) which are easily in reach under an hour if you want them… also it gets better and better the further you go in.

    jaketurbo

I’ve got a jaded opinion of cyb… also trail centres in general… So I’ll try to stay objective.

Don’t do the beast, it’s just a long fireroad ride with underwhelming descents.

MBR is similar to be honest

Do a mix of Tarw Du and cut across for the Adams family descent.

The repaired road by the cross isn’t the right way down anyhow… Cut through the gate, past the cross and down the shute in front of the cross. Only short but it’s a little bit of steep.
