@chiefgroove thanks for explaining the why!

To make it even more confusing Maxxis seem to have taken all actual information off their website. What i really want is a 2.4 dhr2 and a 2.4 dhf box exo/tr but as far as i can tell they dont exist.
I was runnning the older non tr Maxxis tyres tubeless for a while quite happily but completely blew a tyre off the rim which put me off a bit!

@BearBack Whistler/Canada in general looks awesome but i think this time ill be sticking to the Alps, I think if i were to come over to Canada I would want to make it a bit longer trip!

@lotto I noticed Singletracksafari do a short break, 4 nights with 3 days riding. Sure some of the others do too.

@snaps Which week are you guys going? Is it the backcountry week your doing? Because of work I can only really go fist two weeks of July or the second or third week in September. Kinda keen to do as little uphill as possible!

@ChrisL Probably a good shout, certainly makes sense.

Just need to take the plunge an book something really, keep going round in circles, looking at whiteroom, trail addiction, bikeverbier and singletracksafari. Thinking probably Whiteroom.

@siwhite Yeah thats what im looking for really, fast and flowy and not too mental. Ill drop you an email and let you know what im planning.

@notsospeedydaz How did Trail Addiction and Singletracksafari compare? I thought STS looked good price wise but then noticed there is a £175 single person supplement

Thanks for the suggestions, its Thursday or Friday I would be looking at going, weather looking a bit drier and brighter for those days.

Ive just realised its probably going to be pretty snowy high up too. Maybe best left for spring/summer when theres more light and less snow!

After 5 weeks or so waiting, i emailed Canyon who told me Shimano were out of stock on Zee brakes and just to order a new one and they will reimburse me. Nice to have a whole new brake but a bit long to have to wait.

It was a fair old whack! Made a right mess. My Freeriders seem to hold water for a long time too so not too fussed about that really. Theres some cheapish new impacts on ebay so ill give em a go. Hopefully i wont be off the bike for too long!

Rockgarden cya, good protection and hip padding too.

Sounds like thats pretty high pressure for tubeless. Air will just leak slowly through the rubber anyway, I tend to add a bit more sealant when the tyres start to lose air significantly over a week or so.

Pretty good in the wet really, awesome riding not far away on Exmoor too.

Apparently it was sent from Canyon to Shimano at least 5 days ago so is now with Shimano but thats the last I heard. Hopefully it shouldnt take more than a week or two!

Bike Verbier all booked up unfortunately. Im going to book it early for next summer though. Any other recommendations for companies doing guided, lift assisted riding mid September? To be fair I had thought it would be too late to book it this year but thought i would give it a shot just in case.

Ive just dropped Bike Verbier an email to see if they have spaces week of 17th or 24th of September.

Cheers for the replies/links. Think im going to be looking at a guided weeks riding, so bike verbier or similar could be good

+1 For the Canyon, its a great bike! I got the basic one and got a second hand ccdb and charger damper for the boxxers. Pretty damn light for a dh bike too

My car was written off about 6 months back, said it would be £2500. They gave me £1000 and i bought it back for £100. Didnt actually need anything replacing and was fixed for free! Hopefully it will be fixable again though it will definatley need some bits this time!

No worries, ill have a look today.

Well they will write it off im sure as its only worth about £1000. May see about buying it back and fixing it but not sure yet

But obviously cant get it Mot’d when i dont have it and its got a bloody great dent in it

    jakehinton

Im just concerned that if the MOT runs out whilst the claim process is ongoing that they will turn around and say “well the mot has run out so we arnt going to pay!”

    jakehinton

No, i managed to get it home and now im waiting for the insurances garage to come and collect it. Mot runs out on the 21st and tax at the end of the month. Id just got it ready for the MOT and booked it in. Bloody annoying!

Ok, would have been better if it was about an hour shorter.

I thought the hardware was a different size. Annoying as ive bought the hardware but no longer have the shock and apparently didnt need the hardware anyway.

I think i would be very wary of buying one second hand, thought about buying a new one but im definitely swaying towards a db air

They tend to sit a little into the travel but only 2/3%, maybe 5 tops. Nick Do you change the o rings etc or does a clean and lube sort it?

Porlock area of Exmoor well worth a look, loads of great riding round there. And not far from the Quantocks so could spend a day there too.

Yes, i put in on the chat forum. One guy said he’d been looking at bidding on it and was glad he had seen the post and hadnt wasted his money. Just thought id put it on here too as i thought more people may see it. If anyone sees this and wants to bid on it at least they will know how much money they will actually have to spend on it. £216 including return postage.

Yes TF said it needs repairing and a service. The seller is aware of this as i sent him the paperwork from tf when i returned it to him. I also told him in an email. It needs a new inner air can, and 2 other fairly major (cant remember off the top of my head) components which were not included in the service. So £105 for a service plus another £100 ish to replace the other parts.

    jakehinton

Just think its dishonest as he well knows that it requires more than a service. If he thought all it needed was a service then fair enough but he’s aware that it needs a service plus an extra £100 spending to replace other parts which wont be covered by the service. As far as im concerned if you know theres issues then it should be mentioned in the ad.

Ill post about it in the bike forum too. Tf said £216 including return postage
