A lot of Cafell was closed but still well worth the trip!

Should be fine then! I had heard some of the fun sections on the cafell trail were shut at the moment?

Ive just picked up a bike box but think ill have to cut it down a lot, way over the size requirements for paisly. Looks like about £60 to post fully insured. Doesn’t seem too bad really!

I thought it would probably be too large for parcel force but i will check. Ill get a quote from paisleyfreight too. Thanks!

Where abouts are you staying? Theres a few good mtb spots but I always seem to have to drive to get to the good stuff.

Dartmoor may not be far depending where you are and Gawton and Tavi woods are on the edge of Dartmoor. If your near Bodmin there are some purpose built trails at Cardinham and Lanhydrock which are good when everywhere is soaking wet. Grogley woods are fun too, also near Bodmin.

Ive had two reverbs now. The first needed a service after about 2 years. No problems with either. A friend got one on a new bike which failed pretty much instantly and was quickly replaced. Fitting the cable was surprisingly easy.

And does that one need adapters for through axles? It says it accepts hubs up to 145mm but have you managed to fit a boost hub in there?

And presumable a zip tie on the seat stay or chainstay for a rear wheel? How do you check how true it is vertically? Another zip tie on the fork arch?

Looks like its 8,9 or 10 speed only

TLD skyline shorts are good and can often be had for £35-£40

Apparently CRC are starting again in October. Apparently they stopped for a while due to moving premises.

I’ve just built up an Airdrop Edit Coil with Lyriks. Its a beast and just great fun to ride. Couldn’t recommend more!

The new bike yoke one looks good but a bit pricey. I’ve always found reverbs to be good, in fact ill be selling mine soon and replacing it with a stealth version.

Ive got a rt3 you could have for £65 posted if you wanted a cheap option. Working fine but makes a slight knocking noise (tf have said its not an issue)

Just been to Sainte Foy with the whiteroom. Awesome. Had a day at pila which was great, the 11km freeride trail from the top right down to aosta was absurdly fun!

Crc say they have taken it off whilst changing warehouses and it will be back towards the end of the year. Happy to support my lbs but I was hoping to get a set sorted quick plus crc was a good price with extra 10% off, down to about 370. Quite a lot cheaper! Other option is superstar who have a good deal on but non boost which means spending an extra £100 on the forks.

The pikes to be fair would be fine for me. It just seems like the Lyriks sound like better forks at a small weight (and price) penalty.

You’ll have an awesome time anyway. The idea of a day out in shitty weather is far worse than the reality.

Yeah i saw that, but as I would be going up from a 26er to a 27.5 ill need new wheels anyway, so could get boost compatible front wheel, doesnt look to make the wheels much more expensive.

I had a week with the Whiteroom couple of weeks back. Really good! Cant fault them. Amazing riding, great food and lovely chalet, really nice guys too.

Ah cool, i emailed him and he said it included full warranty, just seemed slightly suspect!
Now is it worth spending an extra £110 quid to get the new Charger 2 Lyriks over the older model?

Not sure on the warranty, guessing a year if that’s what the shocks are? They do look pretty cool, but yeah probably a bit too new really!

I seem to get the wandering bite point thing but seems to be fixed by taking the pads out and squeezing the lever a few times occasionally. Other than that they’ve been pretty good really.

I got an Osprey Viper 9 from CRC recently on offer. Decent pack, holds everything I need.

I’ve posted with Royal Mail before and its been fine. I’m sure you could do it cheaper via some other courier but it just seems easier to drop it into a post office.

The shouting in your ear…. That’s called exploding head syndrome, had the same thing with someone shouting my name in my ear really loudly as i drifted off.
The pub i work in is meant to be haunted, often think someone is in the room with you. Weirdest thing was a shot measure jumping about 3 foot from the back of the bar with no one anywhere near it.
