I’ve just renewed with lv. Was the cheapest I could find which covers the bike away from home. Also covers loss or damage on flights.
It was about £230 to cover everything.

Pretty sure the chainring, cassette and chain all went on at the same time. Nothing is slipping yet and chain doesnt need replacing, well according to a chain checker anyway. Not really replaced anything in that time, well gear cable and shock bushings but I think thats it.

    Its a Supoerstar components one.

New one looks good! Last one was a bit weak really, especially the drawn out ending.

10 weeks seems a bit nuts, unless your riding everyday maybe? My current bikes bearings haven’t needed changing yet and its 18 months old, riding 4-8 hours a week mostly, though its done a week in Scotland too and a few little multi day trips.

Online bearing shop should have them? Though I guess maybe not if its an unusual size?

I used Snowcard for insurance for an Alps trip, you can customise the cover a lot and they seem to be one of the go to companies. Think it was about £70 quid for a week so not exactly cheap but probably worth having decent cover.

Airdrop edit v3? I’ve got the v2 and it’s great. Good price too!

The mechanic says it looks like egr is blanked/deleted as it didn’t move at all whilst driving and everything else was normal. All live data from his diagnostics was showing everything normal, annoyingly fault wouldn’t show whilst we had his diagnostics plugged in.

The cars done 78,000 and has all its stamps so had regular oil changes at least.
It’s had a new air filter fitter within the last month.
Fuel vent thing maybe as I’ve had a little rush of air sometimes when opening the filler cap.
Mechanic says looks like egr has been deleted as it didn’t move at all whilst driving.
Someone messaged and suggested upstream o2 sensor?
Sometimes happens every few days, sometimes doesn’t happen for a week or two.
Car doesn’t slow down just doesn’t gain any more speed/revs.

Looks nice! I’ve got the v2 edit and my only issue really was the cable routing which it looks like they have improved on the v3.

Looked at this a while ago with a mates bike, seemed like the general consensus was they were marginally different and a shimano bb would fit but wear out quickly.

I emailed Steve at Vorsprung with a picture, he said its fine and the adjuster covers more of the bolt as you add bottoming out resistance. Bruneep, I would add a picture but im never too sure how to add them to the forum. Happy to email a picture if you message me your email address.

What grease did you use for the spring? I’ve got sram pm600 military grease which I’m hoping will be ok.

Interested how you get on with the 45lb spring, I was unsure between the 40 and 45 but went 40. Waiting for some tools to arrive in order to assemble mine.

I was a bit thrown by the chamferless socket, 22mm cone wrench and heat gun. Oh and the torque wrench spanner adapter!

Just got mine, unfortunately dont have all the required tools to fit it so it’ll be another few days yet. Should have checked what tools were needed really!

Yep the bottom out system looks good on the vorsprung, hadn’t really thought about the travel adjust thing but that is pretty handy too!

I’m looking at the vorsprung coil kit for my 2017 lyrik, not sure if I would be better off selling it and getting a mrp ribbon coil or maybe helm coil instead?

Skylines or nukeproof blacklines are nice too.

Weak. I reckon bc will be losing out on a fair few subscriptions by making the discount so poor now.

Ebay, but wait for a ‘only pay £1 selling fee’ deal, they seem to come up regularly. Takes the sting out of the fees.

Definetly found banana before surfing helped. Whether or not its psychosomatic I don’t know!

I’m sure just getting used to doing longer rides would help. My usual rides are 3 to 4 hours and it’s usually after that sort of time I start to suffer.

I’ve normally avoided tablets to put in water as I’m worried they will taste bad and gunk up my bladder. On my normal rides though I’m usually fine so not normally an issue, it’s just for longer days out, alps trips etc where I feel it’s handy to have something which helps with the cramps.

Could well be! I normally just take water but would give electrolyte powder a go

I’m normally fine riding for about 4 hours but after that I start cramping up. Always suffered badly surfing and bodyboarding, banana before I went in seemed to help a bit with that. Salt tablets seemed to work pretty well but looking online they all look a bit different and some surprisingly expensive

Interested in the coil conversion for lyriks too. I saw in an article that they couldn’t guarantee that you would be able to convert back to air but it would probably be fine, though to be honest I doubt you would want to go back to air. My coil boxxers were amazingly plush and had better mid stroke too than any air forks I’ve used.

Be nice to see a single track review of the edit, seem to see a lot about the birds but no edit reviews.

Well a mate of mine had one and pretty much everything on it broke in the first 3 months of owning it, though I think it was down to bad luck mostly and whyte replaced and upgraded pretty much everything on the bike. So they have good aftersales care anyway!

I’d just call tf, they are very helpful and knowledgeable. I’d just go for their heavy duty mount kit as they last well.

On average once a week for 3 or 4 hours, sometimes more. Its probably technically due a service, just thinking coils need less maintenance than air shocks. Are the service intervals longer on the cane creek coils than the air shocks?

I also assumed my ‘contract’ was with the seller. It was sold by AO through ebay.
I just checked and it is a Uk centre I’d need to contact. For some reason I thought it was an American number they gave me. My bad.
Im just a bit baffled as whenever i’ve bought anything and it was faulty or a warranty issue arose, its gone back to the place of purchase and they send it off for warranty.
Case in point, Shimano brake goes wrong 6 months after purchase. Contact seller, send back to seller, await replacement/refund. I wasn’t told here’s Shimano’s phone number, sort it out yourself.

I think PayPal protection lasts 180 days so may try and get money back through them.
Or try and go through the warranty process though I imagine that will take a lot more time and effort and will be expensive making (im guessing) long phone calls to America.

It’s been used for a week or so so should be finished updating. It’s an a9 quad core, 8gb ram.
It’s slow as in it takes 30 seconds to open a folder and often just freezes and needs restarting, pretty sure thats not right.

I’d try to do as many as possible! Dont miss out the blues and reds as they may not be steep and techy but they are a lot of fun. A470 and poppety ping are both jump trails (rollable), also enter the dragon which now has some massive jumps so maybe leave them if your not keen on jumping. Half cut, and escort are more techy/steep.

+1 For the Airdrop Edit. Fun, capable and reasonably priced too. Plus they do everything from frame only to full custom build or anywhere in between.

Ive had a 02 and an 03, great for biking. Both of mine had the 1.9 straight diesel engine which are pretty bombproof. Rear axles go on them, had the trailing arm bearing go on one and torsion bar on the other

30k? I have only had the car for 4 months and put about 5k on it in that time. Its got about 134k on it, replacement engine has done 81k.

Due to where I live there isn’t an awful lot of second hand cars about and you tend to have to pay more for them, hence im considering fixing mine up instead of just getting a new one. I think it will be cheaper and at least im pretty sure the rest of the car is in good nick with new clutch, gear box, good service history and went straight through last mot with no advisories. Just a bit of a gamble either way I guess.
