Im using Nukproof critical knee pads and crc brand x elbow pads. The Nukeproof knee pads are comfy and pretty sturdy, think they were around £40. Elbow pads only £12.00 and seem good for the money

Well the weird sound has stopped, not sure why. Seemed to stop after unplugging the lead, trying it in different sockets then put it back in the original socket i was using and it just stopped.
Changing the resolution doesnt sort the display problem. Trying to find the overscan option

Cheers, amp doesnt have a HDMI as its fairly old (but good, its a pioneer a400)

Thats a link to the computer, it has the details of the motherboard.
Ill boot it up again later and try and find out the specific soundcard. Using old computer at the mo as the sound is pretty unbearable from the new one.
Ive got the sound card from my old computer i could try putting in but im worried if i take the rear panel bit off to fit another card in then the guy wont accect it if i need to return it. Also its just annoying as its brand new and i should really need to be a. faffing around with it and b. fitting parts off my old computer just to get it to work properly!

Ill have to try the ctrl+scroll thing.
Its the headphone jack in the back of the computer, the middle, green one. And its going into an amp not into the tv. Plugged in headphones and got no static sounds. Its a new pc with the sound card built into the mother board if that makes any difference?

Pretty easy to fit too. Only problem was getting the old casting plug out. What they suggested in the instructions didnt work too well.

Went out today and it really is a big improvement. They now feel way smoother and more controlled. Its really worth doing. Bike-discount.de have them at the lowest price ive found.

Well the charger damper is frickin awesome.

Well there appeared to be a small disc in the bottom of the damper side but not a bottom out bumper like the one in the boxxer team manual. Weirdly the RC manual doesnt show one but the team manual does.
Another quick question… Which way does the spring go in? Think ive had it in wrong way round for a bit, larger diameter sitting at the bottom of the leg?

Hmmmm, its very tempting. Seen some for around 200 quid on pinkbike, figure i could recoup a bit of that selling the Kage on.
And yes im quite happy fettling, though i see Cane Creek have a base guide for the Canyon which will probably help to begin with.

Yes, amazingly its actually worked out very well!

Just seems like its jammed in there. Cant get it to budge at all. Maybe i can get a vice around it and push it out with something?

Unsuccessful. Just knocked paint off from various places. Weirdly nowhere near where i was actually hitting it

Cheers, i did try tapping it but guess ill just have to hit it harder!

Just taken the spring off the shock and when its fully compressed the seat hits rear wheel. Putting the seat up an inch or so seems like it should stop it. Im only light about 68kg and using a 300lb spring, think im gonna get a 325 aswell.
Seems like a slight design floor if you cant run the seat right down low.
Would canyon replace bearings for you?
Would adding a bit of compression damping stop it bottoming out so much on slower hits?

Yes the seat is as low as it will go, no marks on the saddle but its only happened a couple of times. I removed the shock and the suspension is smooth but the wheel does hit the rear of the seat if you lower the bike as low as it goes without the shock in place. Weird that its happening on small slow drops and not on large ones with more speed though

SKF seals as opposed to the push low friction one? Is the charger damper easy to install? How much do you charge to install them LoCo? Just noticed your not too far away from me

Possibly too much oil somewhere preventing movement? Charger damper and push low friction seals will be on the shopping list at some point!

My mistake there was a preload spacer, it was attached to the bottom of the top cap. Think ill just get a few days use out of them and hopefully they will soften up a bit. Really shouldnt need the extra soft spring!

    jakehinton

The red which was in it was a medium, and ive replaced it with the yellow (140-160lbs). How many preload spacers were in your boxxers? Im right in assuming the should just be sat on top of the spring?

Cheers for the response. Its a Kage RC shock. Ill definatley be trying it out with the spring that comes on it as i wont have the lighter spring till a few days after the bike arrives and i dont think im going to be waiting that long to take the bike out!

Ive ordered a 165mm 300lb spring, they have 166mm 325 springs so ill get one of those if i dont get on with the 300lb one

    jakehinton

So then would the 166 length one give you an extra 1mm of preload over the 165? (before adjusting anything)

    jakehinton

Id be happy to go with tf but they only have an option of 300 or 400lb springs, ideally i would want a 325 if possible

    jakehinton

And seems a bit odd if you look on other shops at shock springs they dont have the spring free length options?

    jakehinton

So does the 1mm difference beyween the 165/166 really make any difference? Im buying it for a bike which hasnt arrived yet so have nothing to measure. I rang TF who said to have a slightly higher rated spring for jumps/drops and a lower one for smoother stuff so i think it would be handy to have the two really, especially at the price on crc.

Ah, cheers. I assumed they wouldnt fit as it says length is 166 or 165, but im guessing thats not the eye to eye length then? What does the 165 or 166 refer to?

Dont seem to be able to find a 325. Its a rockshox kage shock 240/76. Any idea where i can get a 325?

yeah i noticed that, thought the canyon would fit me better. I looked at the pulse too but in the end i bit the bullet and ordered a torque whipzone last night. I was tempted by the yt but i think the kit you get with the torque is better and there shouldnt be more than a week or two wait for the torque. Think the torque will be more playfull than the nukes or the yt too.

If going for maxxis tyres i would go for the tr versions. I recently had a high roller (non tr) blow off my back wheel. Replaced it with a tr dhr2 and it was a lot easier to blow it up once the tyre was seated and the bead feels a lot more secure!

I imagine the scalp would be better flat out downhill and the canyon more playfull for jumps etc?
