I recently got a second sonos one to try them in stereo set up in the kitchen.
They sound great when sat down listening, but as you walk around cooking etc. The sound stage is a bit funny to my ears.

So I swapped back to one and put the second one upstairs instead.

They paired fine and it’s easy.

My only other issue with Sonos is the app is RUBBISH, The search is very poor needing specific spelling of songs/artists.
Where as my apple music app is much more intuitive and will find artists even if mis spelt etc.
It’s so bad it makes me want to change speaker brand

I’d be very surprised if they unplugged anything during a service – but it is German and they are pretty illogical at making anything reliable or easy to work on these days.

It’ll be little more than oil+filter and some glances at other bits (brakes, tyres, fluids) and then a big bill for a main dealer service at that mileage.

Gearbox oil (If DSG), spark plugs and air filter is 40k on them.
    Schedule is here – https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.seat.com/datamanual-maintenance/my12_w22/Turismos/en-uk/Maintenance_programm_EN.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjplPLy9oj8AhVMPcAKHUaeAFQQFnoECAkQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3b0ikrlHPJo508IWYuPT5Y

I’d check for binding brakes and low tyre pressures just to be sure then just carry on as normal using it.

    Your current MPG figures seem correct and in line with others;

Horrible stuff really and generates a load of waste.
All these extra costs associated with running a diesel, combined with the associated complexity of trying to make them ‘clean’ (DPFs etc.) and the circa 15% price per litre difference.

Does make me wonder how they are still selling them over petrol equivalents!

We have a yale ‘smart alarm’.
Had the same but an older version in our previous house and can’t fault them.

It’s all wireless – very easy to DIY install.
Makes it great as we have sensors in our detached garage – they claim 200m range.
Batteries last 2yrs+ (Previous house we changed the siren batteries once in 5yrs, the rest I’m pretty sure were still original when we moved)
You can add extra sensors/accessories on top of standard kit contents and they do various size kits.

Also connects to phone app so you can set/unset from that (when you forget, or when you are just leaving garage, not going back into house or back from a ride straight into garage etc.) or the keypad, and alerts you when it goes off via text, email and app.

    Something like this (you can see the kit options);

    Related to my previous post;

Motorcyclists had a casualty rate of 6,043 casualties per billion miles travelled, compared to 238 for the occupants of a car, and 62 for the occupants of a van. Bicycle riders were the next most vulnerable at 5,604 casualties per billion miles travelled, followed by pedestrians at 1,801 casualties per billion miles.

    Taken from – https://www.bikelawyer.co.uk/site/case-studies/bike-accident-statistics/

In summary – things in life can be dangerous, and the risk needs managing.

    Thats a scary looking chart.

I think what needs considering is the majority of motorcycle riders do not regularly ride and do very low miles a year. (A huge amount but the bikes away over winter).
And also every ride is a ‘fun ride’, the bikes are peoples toys, this obviously skews the statistics hugely.
People pull the bikes out in summer again and aren’t familiar and a huge spike in accidents occur on the next sunny Sunday mornings of people getting carried away and riding beyond how capable they are.

Compare this to the majority of car drivers who see the car as a tool and use then daily, all year round. No thrill associated, no excitement. Just a tool to plod to work and back.

I agree they can be dangerous – but so can cycling, but we don’t all post charts putting people off of that and telling them not to do it because they might fall off and hurt themselves?

    I had a moped (Yamaha DT50) at 16 – I’m now 31.
    Has a CG125 at 17 also.
And then had multiple bikes since and commuted year round.

So I don’t personally see the issue, unless you (or your son in this case) can’t be sensible.
And if he can’t then you can’t restrict any risk his whole life.
A year later he’ll likely be in a 1ton+ car that will likely do 100mph, and a year on a moped first will make him an infinitely better driver with much higher road awareness!

It grates me immensely when people brand motorbikes as dangerous, they require a different driving style to tanking around in a car. But that soon becomes second nature.

I personally think the 30mph limit is absurd, its more dangerous than keeping with the flow of traffic. Remember its 30 Vmax, so that’s best case scenario – unlikely to hold it along the flat.

Youd be going faster on a road cycle bike down a lot of hills but you’d have a flimsy yepmet and lycra instead of decent gear.

I can remember my excitement at having my own independence and motor transport, it was great!

    Thanks for all responses.

I’ve ordered a Small, GX groupset with rockshox 35 for £999.
    Quite the bargain I think…

They seem to be running the older colour reduced as the new orange or white ones are a chunk more and come with a rigid fork…

    CB500.
I just picked one up for £950 with MOT and 12k miles.

I also really like SV650s but doubt you’ll get a decent one in budget

I really wanted to like them…
Purchased a circa £70 fleece, and first wear realised the arm was stitched 90degees off (Pretty obvious as it has thumb loops, one lined up with back of hand and the other with my thumb)

Returned it free, and they sent another… exactly the same issue. Wonky arm.

Pretty poor quality control at that price point IMO.
And that was the end of my purchasing anything further, I can pop into almost any outdoor shop and get a fleece with straight arms and change for £70.

I also look at other popular bikes I.e slash and they don’t offer a XXL model.
Makes me think if they didn’t for the procal
I’d be perfectly happy in the XL which lists as upto 6ft5 also according to size charts .

Love a good bit of stereotyping.
I’m sure over on the Q7/Range rover/Mega swag 4×4 forums the same insults are being thrown back at us “tax dodging own the road cyclists”

Quite often these variable limits are left on wayyyy after the accident or hazard has cleared.
I’d take a guess and say the poster above me doesn’t regularly use the M1/M25 area otherwise you would in no way think they have much logic behind them -other than revenue creation

I would strongly disagree with a Nissan leaf as a ‘fun silly car’.

MX5 is probably a good shout!

The worn looking area is lifted like a blister/bubble as opposed to rubbed.
Pics probablt don’t show it that well!

To knock it out I’d use something wooden. Less chance of any damage to BB shell 🙂

They don’t take much effort to get moving and just tap out evenly.

I’d imagine it would work well.
    Has a 360degree spray lance
Smells a bit strong at first but soon fades

What drew you to fit a coil over the DPX air shock?

Not sure if mentioned yet… but aircraft (Boeing 787s) have electric brakes.
With the requirement for safety, redundancy and no increase in weight.
    Obviously they aren’t wireless though!

    I had a similar thing recently…

Ordered NX Groupset from Depor Village (Spanish based company, warehouse in Spain).
Didn’t really give it much thought but it was cheap and as we all know stock is scarce everywhere so was glad to find some.

It just seems we pay VAT twice now, to the EU and on its way through UK customs.
The price for the groupset was identical in euros to the price I paid in GBP (You can select shipping destination and see the identical price give or take a few pennies once converted to GBP, but any EU country it informs you ‘VAT included/paid)

So I thought I’d be able to claim the EU VAT, But the company just pockets the 20% I guess and laughs along to the bank?

You can see how that suspension was never designed for that as it ‘clonks’ through its travel.

    They are showing for me…

    Also a step up again, but very pricey;

They also appear to be in stock in a few places from a quick Google.

My E13 BB keeps getting warranted (new wheel bearings, Cassette and BB from them now – can’t fault the customer service at all!)

Nice high quality bikes but as mentioned they are expensive.

Bird aren’t really the same quality of finish, but are a much lower price point.

    Been mentioned by a few already but;

Speeding isn’t the biggest issue, it’s just poor standards of driving.

Loads of 30 limits around me (central beds) have been reduced to 20 with no real logic. They will be widely ignored as people have driven these roads at 30 for 20+ years.
We now have cars with automatic collision avoidance, external pedestrian airbags and have has ABS for years.
Where is the logic in reducing limits…

I’ve been caught before and done a speed awareness course, they are nothing more than a bunch of misrepresented statistics from my experience.

Yep, I have this. Went to GP years ago as was quite concerned when I realised it was occurring.
    Tried stretches, physio etc.
Biased muscle workouts at the gym to try to ‘correct it’ a bit.

    Nothing changed it anything noticeable.

I get a real pain under my left shoulder blade at the lower edge, with a tightness all down my left arm to my middle finger! but no one can really explain why or find anything wrong or correct it.

    Does yours cause you discomfort?

    jake123

    That’s a tragic job.
I did my own first time, took about 4 hours. Was nowhere near that bad with just a few bits of dust and odd tiny bubble.

I’d be straight back to them

Once you are paying £50/month you may aswel have a small older petrol car. If its a pure money saving exercise.

If its because you find commuter type EVs interesting that’s obviously different.

But something like a £1500 yaris will be cheaper to run and fuel than a £5k zone with a £600/yr battery lease surely?

The red isn’t really very ‘red’. It also winds around a lot and you are never far from parking if you or the kids wanted to stop at any point.
None of it is technical, but has got a little bumpy due to masses of use and the rooty terrain.

The blue for me personally isn’t as good, its a lot wetter and is much more all down then a long climb up at the end.

I like the On one whippet.
But SRAM SX stuff is junk (from experience, its on my partners bossnut) so would need an instant upgrade, parts shortages and prices being high means the price instantly jumps up to the point of being more economical to just buy the nicer spec in the first place!

Also weight isn’t everything, but due to pretty mediocre spec (suspect cost saving to allow use of a carbon frame) it weighs over 13kg! With a rigid fork that certainly isn’t light.

    Thanks for all opinions.

My eye was caught by a nukeproof digger also, but they are maybe a bit too ‘gravelly’

I got general grabber AT3 on my hiace.
Be aware a lot of all terrain tyres won’t have the necessary load rating for vans.
    The at3 do in a 104/106 spec.

They have improved it a lot, still no getting away from it being LWB and RWD meaning it gets stuck easy when unloaded.
No noticeable noise increase or MPG change

    jake123

    Thanks for all the replies!

With regards to last post about Sram SX gear- its junk. Just SRAM releasing something budget to keep up with marketing hype.
My partner has it on her bossnut and it’s poor quality and knackered after less than a year of use
    I’d avoid if possible
