“morning dress does all stem from Queen Vic spending too long in mourning dress! “

er. actually no it doesnt, It comes quite literally from being a gentleman’s riding attire for the town, for a morning ride /constitutional. It’s precisely why the jacket is cut high for sitting on horses etc. and can be worn up till & 7pm if a long day out, and no opportunity to re-attire is available, but only till 5pm otherwise. It’s why the jacket is cut high, for sitting on horses, boneshakers etc. Grey is perfectly acceptable for male members of the wedding party and has been for over a hundred years provided that is what the groom is wearing.

hammer + cut off broomstick or piece of doweling thats a reasonably snug fit in the steerer tube

If you tap it in too far, keep going and it just falls out the other end. Start again.

The 420 bhp chevrolet LT1 small block v8 with, holley four barrel 450cfm carbs and edelbrock steel twin-four branch shorty extractor manifolds running through a pair of corvair turbo mufflers and three inch pipes, like what my ’90 Vette has.

Really, call social services or if not available your local a+e department, I work in mental health and all the a+e departments around here have a duty psychiatrist and a crisis team on call 24-7-365 days, I assume that yours will as well unless you live right out in the sticks,It’s going to be bloody cold out tonight if she decides to go walkabout outside. They will have a crisis team on duty, paid and trained for this sort of thing.

Alfa Romeo Montreal two votes so far, stunning and understated, and just beautifully put together for an Italian exotic.

Alfa Romeo Disco Volante, well and truly ripped off by Lyons for the e type.

road going stratos, all the snarling aggression and pace of a testarossa or countach, but with the agility and nimbleness of an x-19 or mr2

ISO grifo, muscla and grace, gorgeous car.designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, who designed the 250 gto, who claims the ISO was the improved gto, that ferrari wouldn’t let him build.

original De Tomaso Pantera, before it copped for all the boy racer spoilers and body kits.

Oscar India AM v8, again before all the body kits and airdams ruined the lines completely.

    69 Dodge charger

    69 Mustang fastback

too many others depending on my mood

What woody2000 says, It’s what I do and I pay about 4/5p per minute with a lebara international sim card, don’t have to mess about finding an internet connection, just use the phone.

The sim cost me a 20 quid with 10 quids worth of credit on it from vodafone shop, cheapy hand-set cost me 20 quid. Costs a lot less than using a UK service provider as far as I can tell. Might be able to get cheaper but I can’t be bothered looking as I’m happy with the service and coverage etc, used it in India, Israel, the US, Tanzania, Panama…. all over the place really without any problems, and I can top up online if needs be as well.

And for the US, if you try keepspeaking.com, they do us sim cards and will even rent you a handset for use while y’there.

not got any pics of most except the Hamer on this computer: but a tele thinline, 73 les paul custom, 2 Jay Turser 355 copies, a Jay Turser resonator les paul type thing hybrid with gretsch filtertron pickups, a yamaha pacifica which is f*****g awful and i only bought cos it was very very cheap, but terrible and I wish I’d not bothered,a somewhat euphemistically named Hamer standard custom, and a custom tele copy, that was built for the Manchester guitar show last year, and a grant les paul copy i’ve had about thirty years.

Oddly enough my favourites are the two Turser semi’s and the electric resonator which are terrific, and were the cheapest.

if i’ve got the hotlink right……

mr crushrider, just wondered what the relevance to the story actually was? I can can only assume from your use of the term “P C superhero” and “Nob Heads” that you a thwarted bigot of some description?

That may sound like me being a “nob head”, but at least I can spell knob correctly. which I believe makes me sound less like one than somebody who cannot:)

currently back in the uk, but the most annoying thing about most other countries I’ve lived was unfortunately the type of Ex pats who spend thier lives whining about pretty much everything, I avoid ’em like the plague. met the odd one who is ok but mostly I pretend to be Basque, Mustachistani or Afrikaans just to annoy them and hopefully make them leave me alone. That and chicken and mushroom pot noodle longings

Assuming infinitely good eyesight, the required level of fine motor control and a precisely defined enough cutting tool, Occam’s razor may be good here.

can you cut a piece of titanium (for example) exactly 1.9 recurring cms long? no you cant.

can you cut a piece of titanium (for example) exactly 2.0 recurring cms long? yes you can
    .
so no ,regardless of what Bertrand Russell and other assorted philosophical mit mots think, they are not exactly the same number at all, they may however be functionally identical numbers, unless the definition you need in your calculation is massively high.

if you have no grill, make a cheese sandwich using whatever is your preferred method, and fry in a nice oiled skillet, ( a frying pan will just burn the edges of the bread unless you are very lucky getting the temp in the pan just right, a skillet on a very low heat seems to heat more evenly and results in less carbonization and more overall tastiness ) on both sides for about three or four minutes.

Or…… make your cheese sandwich, cut a hole in the middle of it with a glass in a biscuit cutter stylee, plop an egg in there once its on the skillet and fry for about four or five minutes on each side, also with this method, the bit you have cut out of the sandwich will be ready to eat about a minute before the rest of it it, so you can scoff that whilst waiting for the rest.

mind you, I’m a greedy bastard and always make about three on the run.

buy both and have both fitted, springs….. cart, coil or otherwise settle with use and may in actuality be a different rate or length regardless of what you think you’ve bought, that being said, you wont notice a difference till you really need to brake in a straight line, and then it wont.

With older or classic cars, it’s not uncommon to buy a a 2 inch or so lowering kit and find out the car is exactly the same height as it was before it was lowered as the springs have settled under load. I wouldn’t risk just changing one in a car that age. but maybe that’s just me……….
