I'm bi-polar, and if wandering around the house ranting and not being able to remember it is the worst thing you've done, that's really quite mild.

    Google "sleep hygiene"

If you get more stressed about it,go and see your GP. Make a list of any anxieties or other symptoms you think might be relevant.

"pedant /"pEd(@)nt/ 2n. a person who is excessively
concerned with minor detail or with displaying
    technical knowledge.
    – derivatives pedantry n.
    – origin C16: from Fr. pédant, from Ital. pedante, perh.
from the first element of L. paedogogus (see
    pedagogue).
pedantic /pI"dantIk/ 2adj. of or like a pedant.
    – derivatives pedantically adv"

So it's not really pedantry, it is however a pointless critique of a semiotics based systemic linguistics approach to acquired language usage. That's what I reckon anyway:)

My wife and I both trained as Jewellers originally. We just went out and bought them from here….

    Stephen Einhorn

His craftsmanship and build quality is really good, and one of the very few high street manufacturing jewellers we thought was actually any good, a lot of little independents quality is fairly poor.

If you want a plain titanium band, anymore than 25 or thirty quid really is ridiculous, it's pennies worth of metal and no more than a few minutes work. I used to do titanium bands for a tenner or so.

"Up until Bladerunner and Alien all sci-fi films were like 2001, pristine high technology, "

Unless of course you ignore Jean Luc Goddards 1965 "Alphaville" Private eye exploring the lines between humanity and inhumanity in a dystopian future anybody?, Lang's "Metropolis" or Ubaldo Ragona and Sidney Salkow's "last man on Earth". Oh and dont forget Orwell's "1984", which had it's first cinematic release in 1954. Any other number of film noir/science fiction crossovers from the fifties.

    Imho:)

it's not bad film, but I think Scott's "The Duellists" is a lot better.

Imho….It's alright if you like that sort of thing, the Mise en Scene is quite good, but unless you're a big fan of the tech noir genre, it's merely a middling good film rather than a great film.

When it was on recently I watched Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin instead.

"A tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
    Signifying nothing."

3d?…..Flash in the pan technology, gone in eighteen months, just wait for battle field LA, which in post production looks about 11ty seven times better without all the 3d tomfoolery as well.

    "I picked up a s/h Marshall MG15 CDR."

Those little Marshalls are superb, I use mine on stage, in the studio, everywhere, just plug it in and turn it on with no messing, ……. bloody great they are.

Very nearly like it as much as my Mesa Boogie combos Would never go back to a big pile of heads and cabs now.

Self amalgamating tape from Maplins or RS components or the like, then gaffa over the top.

It won't stick to the bone, but it will stick to itself and give the bone greasy or not a covering that the gaffa will stick to.

typical Cameron film, full of flashy and ground breaking effects, but basically quite dull if you ignore them, and most of the people my wife and I know have been working on it for yonks and we were bored to death of hearing about it by the time it released.

    Hotfly…..

"I just think… "there's something amazing that they haven't got yet… I hope they do someday… there really IS more to life!" Can you live with that? "

Yup, I can live with that……I'm an atheist, if she came into my house and started banging on about religion and miracles and imaginary friends, and she was being paid to teach math, she would be turfed out pretty quickly. However if she had been invited in to talk about religion, that is an entirely different matter.

"But yes I agree with the need to be sensitive and respect other people's view." your words….. she wasn't being respectful though or being sensitive to other people's beliefs.

It is your choice to be a christian or not. The same way it is my choice to be an atheist. If I worked in a christian household I would consider it courteous and polite to keep my beliefs to myself and not attempt to foist them upon others, she failed to do that and has been suspended.

It's nothing to do with her being a christian, it's to do with her pushing an opinion that wasn't wanted whilst she was there being paid to provide a tutoring service that had nothing to do with belief.

I suspect that if it had been a Christian family, and she had insensitively offered to perform a satanic ritual for the child, exactly the same would have happened.

She was pushing her religion (whichever it may be) on somebody who didn't want it. She was being paid to teach maths and not fairy tales.

If it had been my child, I would have complained as well.

I'm quite happy with the result, If you don't complain about being force fed banal common denominator s**t, that relies on offending the least number of people possible to get sales, eventually that's all you'll be offered.

All clear pretty much up here at the moment, a bit of snow left on the hillsides, still quite mild tonight as well. I can see the lights of Manchester so pretty clear skies at the mo also.
