I've spent about a year looking for a decent one (or one I like anyway), if you find one let me know?

Set fire to it? or had a fire in it. if you just had a fire in it then it's fine. If you actually managed to set the metal burning….well done you, but I'd bin it. 🙂

"Oh, an does anyone know if any AV receivers can be hooked up so that the sound for the front two speakers goes through a different amp i.e. it does its surround sound processing and outputs at line level to another (better) amp? "

Don't know any current ones, but I do that with mine, look for one that has left and right pre outs on the back. Mines an old yamaha so the current ones might be worth rooting around the back of.

Another way of doing it would be to get a dvd with a 6 ch out and an amp with a 6 ch in and just feed the l + r from the dvd to the hifi amp and everything else to the av amp. hope that helps……

The Fleming ones were okish, and a lot lower key and grimier than the films, but still a bit escapist guff.

I've been convinced for many years that James Bond is quite clearly gay. He changes his outfit every time he changes location, he's obsessed with his hair and designer and branded accessories and goods, he sublimates his homo erotic impulses with fist fights and a Don Juan complex and I've never met a straight man who drinks martini shaken or stirred, and all of my gay friends concur with this theory. So that's it. True story.

"Off the peg PS suits come in a 6 inch drop from chest to waist so good luck!"

Having never bought one of the peg, I'll have to take your word for it.But I have a 46 chest and a 32 waist and they work pretty well for me.:)

    Business or pleasure suit?

With those measurements, if you are on the short side have a look at Paul Smith,I've got a few and love them, especially for less formal suits. If you are on the tall side, look at Ozwald Boateng, though cos I'm quite short, they always make me look like a ferret in a sack.

"Sorry, but I can't believe you play in a band & have no idea about the quality of guitars. "

I can, I'm a Luthier and constantly amazed by the ignorance about build materials, how pick ups effect sound, neck radii of necks at various points etc, of a reasonably high percentage of the players I build or modify instruments for.

38? the only major limit really on how good you can get is how much practice you can/are prepared put in….. simple as.

If you're right handed then get a right handed guitar. Almost all the literature and chord dictionaries are for right-handers so why make it harder on y'self? 🙂

Yup, the new Pacificas are crap definitely, I refuse to work on 'em anymore. The old ones were okish.

    jahwomble

I wouldn't get a Pacifica again, they're pig ugly and the build, component and wiring quality is really quite poor for the cash even on the pricier ones. You should be able to get a decent second hand vintage vibe tele or strat for £150 if you scout around. I've had a few of the vintage vibes through my workshop for set-ups,upgrades etc, and for the money they are great.

It's just you, you are apparently a reactionary moron. You seem to have manged to stir up the usual "It's pc gone mad!!!" cretins up though, so that's something to be proud of I suppose.

When cats are about to be run over if they don't run, but are being too cool to run, so do that really fast walk where their legs are just a cartoon blur and the body just glides along at about fifteen mile an hour.

"I'm struggling with the idea that an adult would think that. Why wouldn't you use a credit card to do your weekly shop or any shopping for that matter. Points make prizes. "

Simply because I earn enough not to **** about worrying about £100 a year,it's not even £2 a week can't be arsed poncing about at the end of the month making sure my potential debt is up to date for a couple of quid?

"jahwomble has gone a bit quiet LOL"

No, I just had better things to do than read about credit card deals, and have only just logged back on. that's all.
