Tempur are memory foam, “tempur” is just a brand name. You can get less well known brand memory foam mattresses for a lot less than the Tempur ones.

I’ve got one and It’s the best bed I’ve ever had,ours came from Sleepmasters and was about half the price of the equivalent Tempur one.The flat it’s in is really quite warm and I dont get any problems with being too hot, but it’s only got about a 4 tog quilt on it in winter.The pillows are pretty good as well.

I’ve read through most of this, ….though I never bother to read Surf-mat’s posts anyway, as they are consistently ill informed, poorly thought out and reactionary guff or simply cut and pasted responses from somewhere else. Getting into an argument with him is about as intellectually challenging as farting and really not worth the effort.

That being said, the rest of it’s quite funny.:)

I concur, for real perfromance differences, you really need to start looking at the induction and exhaust systems,cam profiles, balancing/blueprinting, weight reduction etc. Again thats just my opinion though, that and i like mucking about with cams and the like. stops me making a mess in the house anyway 🙂

You’re right, I agree etc, but I mostly use my cars off road or on the track, and going fast in straight lines is seriously dull.:) and on the road, I’d still rather have the ability to keep the rubber firmly stuck to the road in any conditions, straight line braking etc or otherwise than a few extra ponies.

It’s also quite reassuring to have the extra braking and handling in reserve for when some buffoon in a chipped up car with suspension and brakes not really up to the power, comes razzing up a sliproad or overtakes messily whilst in racing driver in a company car mode and makes a d**k of themselves:) etc.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t have checked them out, I’m just saying it can’t have been a very exciting week for you:)

Spend the money on sticky tyres, brakes and decent shocks instead.I reckon It’s a lot more fun to have the extra handliness than the power. Though both are nice.

No matter how much extra power chipping will give you, it’s never helpful if you’re upside down going sideways thinking “**** me…… how did that happen?”

Of course I can, because it is. it’s no more or less generic than any pub band, the only real difference with srv is that he put more pratice in, but it’s still an essentially turgid and creatively bankrupt genre.

Apart from Rory Gallagher…..Blues rock is s**t,music to listen to in a company car, generic pulp for the emotionally and musically immature to listen to and the umimaginative hackneyed and cliched to play, think it makes them “quirky” and read graphic novels,probably wet the bed in their teens as well. Imho anyway, yours may differ 🙂

I use locking machine heads, on my personal guitars and guitars I build. just Pull the string finger tight through the capstan,lock it, tune upto pitch, stretch,twang and retune a couple of times.

I have about half to one wrap tops on all my guitars with little or no pitch instability at all and strings settling into tune almost instantly as there’s barely any slack to take up, just a little bit of stretch as the strings settle..

Thats not much help really is it?

I never bother to argue with god botherers of any flavour, as their judgement is obviously so fundamentally flawed I can’t really see the point. Religious belief justifies no more intellectual credence than the earth being flat or the moon being made of cheese.
