So Back in ‘that’ day bike was a gate sized raleigh something or other used only for commute into Pond St from eccleshall road. Was into (C2) canoe slalom at the time. If I could get back to that fitness and level on bikes all would be good. So probbly no not of your age or even generation

    so one of my areas…
washing machine last 2 yr if lucky often used 2+ times a day, last waranty’engineer’to visit claimed they are not designed for more than 1 wash per day BS?
OTOH fridge is about 20 yo freezer about the same. Dishwasher 3yo just been apart to remove blockage on drain pump now not washing well. TV went just before Xmas at 6-8 yo. cooker was 20 & just been replaced. we dont buy extended warantees on stuff and mend/make do then suck it up and get new  Its designed to be built not fixed same as cars really ever tried changing headlamp bulb in a clio? how do they get away with it? makes my bikes seem well designed in comparison.

no that would be per gallon!! remember them? there was uproar when petrol got to 5o p per gallon.
5 star petrol always a bit more expensive due to massive lead content
always got loads of greenshield stamps until hyper stamp inflation set in double triple quad etc etc.

Thanks all for all the info.
pads are organic and 2 rides old
its was as bad with OEM pads resin
alignment and piston movement seems ok
next step is wet ndry pads and disc then coppa slip and a bleed . will try to fit mates brake to mine or easier swap wheels then test.
Half term next wk so want to ride and not faff.
Ithink its not over yet :(

right then checked all above both pistons look to be moving freely, loosened caliper and recentered by holding lever in and moving cal over to even out gaps and piston strike quick spin on road no change,
TGuy in the dry and really screaming ,not a little bit of squeak I could cope with that, will try a little coppa slip soon so thanks all for ideas I am not too hopeful still :|

often(195/365) found to be trying to get teenagers to make something that at least resembles what they have designed on the great Education sausage machine.its amazing how long sanding wood can take up when needed

mrs g got into cycling via some triathloning using my old mtb to start with now loving her road bike which means most spending is ok providing her baby is well cared for. Sadly dont get out much together at the moment but really enjoy those times out. should have done it all many years (decades)ago!!
