Essel GF We didnt get to see it very often as 11pm* was way too late for us as kids and would have been tired out from a full day playing out somewhere. on the rare ocaisions we got to see it had to stand to attention for the Anthem. * yes kids tv shut down at 11pm …Both channels and petrol was 30 p per gallon (6p /litre kids) we never had it so good

nikk +1 went through all of this with mine ended up replacing rear caliper which has sorted it out so far!! seems like after a short life they leak i have been pleased with them when working but will not buy again. Mate had similar with avids but found a couple of loose spokes which sorted that when fixed. Have you checked that yet? good luck I could not ride mine until sorted

Is there to be no end to these posts?… thoughts go out to family and friends once again, not just tragic and needless deaths but serious injuries seem rife, 2 of mrs g’s triclub friends/members knocked off this week one ‘minor’ one serious, femur, knee and shoulder breaks (car turned right into side of her :(

the genie is well and truly out of the bottle. It causes no end of trouble at school often 2nd or 3rd hand so and so said this… about you. Being cynical HTF did they expect to ensure age limits on this? ‘they’ all use it. still not given in myself :D

quite a few like these… scariest when complete landy bonnet lifted up and flew off cartwheeling along A55 while working on Holywell bypass.
fiat 127 (yes I know!)gear stick came off same car later lost wiper and the gear unit as part of the rusted body ripped out. Mates austin allegro lost rear wheel going round corner but he was convinced that every crap car he owned drove like a ferrari!

IMHO 12 is way too young for options, where I teach d&t options are in y9 and as above there is a carve up to help the more able into academic depots with DT often left with the rest
We advise to go for a range but the best /most enjoyable for her. It will be hard but try not to go along with mates choices often fallout with them…
Eldest did hairdressing apprenticeship hated it.(she enjoyed the work but salon was carp n boss a bitch) I would expect loads to change in next few years as new curricula kick in and btec/VOC courses are stiffened up.Good luck with it and be that parent that CBArsed to get the best for daughter.

At the obvious risk of perpetuating this carp, I used to work with a section engineer who would insist that the ‘chainman/driver’ went to warm the seat up for him (without full usage ). As some have said much prefer a cold landing myself. happy days but very strange people
leaf eating QS, bog warmer gaz among others

So the y8 easter trip is 2 weeks away, 12 kids from 4 different leeds schools off to Outward bound ullswater 5 day trip cost approx 350 400 each.Always a fantastic trip, kids talk about it for years. Its always a tough week activity wise. Luckily the trip is covered by the generosity of a local property firm and the outward bound trust. We also run an in house trip to staithes 8O which costs about250 -300 each with massive dorms in the wooden army huts at the top of the village, have to do all the cooking, prep, activities and supervision 24/7 now that is kin hard graft. So all in all its very hard work for all involved so the extra money for instructors, decent kit, decent accommodation puts the cost for me into perspective. youngest off to disney paris in october its expensive 450 but imho worth it.
on the reverse side loose 1 week hols and can count on the fingers of 3 fingers the number of parents who have said and meant thanks.
    school trips ace
OB Instructors have been fantastic every time

we had an ikea one for the eldest girl in the ‘box’ room she found it to be too hot and claustraphobic being able to head the ceiling when sat up in the bed. I Cut the legs down to let it sit on top of the overstairs box thingy. still got space under and youngest now has it they might be better in a larger/higher room

Well cant add too much to the debate. got 3 girls eldest now 20 complete nightmare from 13-19, constant trouble at school, police, weed, out all night tried camhs found that to be sh!! be prepared to walk on that if you try it,could well be a bad one we had, all of the obvious and more sensible advice helps one way or another. My eldest now 20 is now great (and 6 mth gone! ) middle 17 is ace, loves rugby doing well at school etc. has her moments esp if under the weather. Is the young ‘lady’having any ongoing illness underlying this stuff. Turns out eldest had been quite ill throughout most of her ‘rebellious/obnoxious stage’ no connection ever made by gp etc but quite a coincidence. Any how good luck with it all it might not even last for ever. Vital to keep talking with gf and be consistent. youngest is 11 going on 13  I may be back
