Greenwich foot tunnel is pretty cool, and everybody just rides through it even tho it says not to..

If I were you id head back along Regents Canal, great ride.

From Greenwich take the foot tunnel, isle of dogs, Thames path round to Limehouse Basin where you pick up the canal then follow the path all the way back round to Regents Park. it goes in a nice arc through Victoria Park which is really nice, Haggerston, South Hackney, Islington (slight road detour through Angel) back on through Camden and Primrose Hill then your onto the path into the park through the London Zoo Avery. From there you can filter down through Hyde Park, go past the palace, Westminster n’that, and back onto the Thames path.

you could even detour along the Limehouse cut and follow the canal through Olympic village if you wanted even more mileage!

loads of pubs and cafes along the path too.

its a bitch that the tyre bead moves in when you release the air. have you heard them ping? try the track pump without core as above until they do, this means the bead is seated in the rim and shouldnt come away. never had to go higher than about 30/35psi for this myself tho..

another idea – new valve core? i can use my coke bottle compressor with the valve core in as long as its not full of gunk.

good thread. didnt realise there were so many options.

i like to change tyres quite often so longevity isnt the problem for me. ive never had any problem with Stans apart from the cost and running out at the most effing inconvenient times… but then thats all ive ever used!

Grizedale is round five which is the 2nd visit to there of the series, PMBA were trying to get a new venue for rd 5 and apparently Wharncliffe was muted as one option, Gnarr bikepark another but neither were able to materialise. this is why rd 5 was always a ‘mystery’ until they announced it would be Grizedale again.

hopefully they may be able to pull it off next year?

there are a load of race reports from previous rounds on the homepage too…

Another for Caegwyn (my spell check tried to change that to carpetbadger!?

Also you can take the farm track off the main rd and follow a fireroad that spits you out at the top of Adam & eve if you wanted to swerve the tarmac.. although it’s not a problem downhill.

always enjoy this debate. opinions are so vehemently black or white.

for me i dont really care, unless i get some obtusely odorous filthy fagash degenerate twathook sit next to me on the train or something, i tend to avoid places where the rats may gather… so im completely on the fence :)

its the nobs in train stations dragging them little **** wheelie suitcases about with their telescopic handles, quite often with a matching laptop bag perched on top like they’re really important who i dream about pushing in front of the next tube! they probably use umbrellas too

bit of a strange post, theres usually a thread for every race.

ive seen most rounds this season i think, dont miss it if i can help it (or wyn tv’s pit chats afterwards!)

Rob Warner’s commentary has been sanitised a bit this year for some reason tho, seems to be keeping his emotions in check more these days…

always route for any of the syndicate boys myself, or for anyone to beatspecialized or the Athertons!

ive had digital luggage scales before and theyve never lasted very long. theres a whole host of them on ebay and amazon for around a fiver but reading reviews they dont seem very accurate.

this one looks good value tho??

Ard Rock gonna be tough to beat, but PMBA’s have been great tbf. the last Grizedale one was quality and the Lee Quarry / Cock Hill round was brilliant too. so yeah get on the PMBA if there are spaces left, be prepared for much muddier, rootier, more tech stages than the ard rock tho.
There is also the Gisburn PMBA but i think that may be sold out and next up for me is the Tweedlove King & Queen of the hill at Peebles next week. (also sold out)

we go to Sainte Foy. went really late last year (this year) snow was fine higher up but i like it to be stacked up on the rooftops in resort to get the full effect, sitting on a cafe terrace surrounded by green and brown earth doesn’t feel right… so its late January next year! last summer in the alps was minging, this year was perfect. last winter was warm so hopefully next will be snowmageddon!?

14mins at that pace! incredible – only a couple of minutes shy of the fast lads’ total time over 5 stages of the ard rock at the weekend! stage one took me just under 6 minutes and could hardly stand up at the end of it!

id probably give it a miss. not so bad on your own but navigating a young family around in that chaos wont be very nice.

Such a brilliant weekend. loved all the stages, the terrain is awesome. the transitions were a bastard but the Atmosphere and the weather made it. Also good of the caterers not to pull your pants down too much either.

    quick hijack.

new bike, fully sram’d up. want to swap for my XTR. however rather than piss about with the BB or spindle adapters etc i was thinking i might as well keep the crankset but with a new N/W ring on there… then i got to thinking about going oval! but this new sram crankset has 94mm BCD. the only available oval ring i can find is the absolute black ‘Sram 94BCD’

so question is, this ring has sram in its name – will it work ok with shimano cassette/chain/mech or will it explode!?

yeah we have a little android telebox things, think its called MBOX?

i got it off my mate and all he showed my how to use was Kodi, which is fair enough as ive not needed anything else. i wasa bit meh about it all at first but tbh I dont think ive watched terrestrial since! every single episode of the simpsons at your fingertips, even with big colourful icons and episode synopsis – ive started on Parks and Recreation from the beginning too.

i tend to drive and park at San Marino so its the first climb and last descent. epic way to finish any ride!
