anyone watch those GMBN videos? they are a bit ‘Top ten tips for wiping your own arse’ patronising at times, but i saw one where they use a garden sprayer for washing bikes down if youre away from home, trail centre carpark or wherever. I nicked that idea!! still use a bit of MucOff tho. i always get tons of it every birthday and xmas tbf.

know a few owners of both. both fantastic pieces of kit. the addict is a more full on winter jacket, the flux you can wear all year.

id love to do a xmas day ride but i also wouldn’t want to miss any of the nippers day either… before they came along me and my dad used to go play squash on xmas morning, just to ‘get out of the way’ while the women were busy cleaning and fisting turkeys etc.

It’s pretty straight forward but maybe try climbing up it from owd Betts the first time? I don’t think it’s all that really, esp with the stupid style in the middle.

i had a cheapo alarm that went off every time i went in the shed and sometimes of its own accord at night. didnt go down well when trying to get the bikes out for a 7am sunday ride. ended up smashing it with a hammer.

so will the Athertons be the only Trek team? leaving Brook Mac and Brannigan without a team? also Laurie Greenland will be racing elite next year?

Gonna Hijack this. have fallen a little out of touch… My brother is in town tomorrow (London) so want to meet up for a few beers and a nosebag. there are a few people coming in from different areas which means Waterloo/South bank/Cov Gdn is the obvious a general area… Franco, Dishoom noted so far.

couple of years ago id have taken him to Meat Liquor or Wahaca, but im sure there must be newer alternatives knocking about now??

like the OP never seen a Harry Potter.

couple of years ago i made a resolution to watch a film a day, within reason – pretty much stuck to it for a while, until the emergence of box sets got in the way. but i cant just sit and flick through channels watching any old shite. i have to watch an episode of something im binging or stick a film on. also with working away i go to the cinema quite a bit.

Tend to avoid the Jason Statham type films, action shooters, or owt by Michael Bey, and most sequels.

I carry a dakine snowboard lock in my pack that I use for quick stops. Weighs nothing and is really compact. Doesn’t offer a great deal of protection but puts off the untooled opportunist..

I’ve asked for a nice new track pump and one of them Airshot jobbies. Maybe a torque wrench too.

them lads in them coffee shops do that shit to a hundred cups a day. its a bit of harmless fun in a long monotonous job and if the recipient gets a morale boost out of it aswell then its win win… and if the recipient is offended by it then well win again! prick

we did it this time last year too. i just wore a baselayer with my altura mayhem jacket with shorts, knee pads and sealskin socks. it wasnt a nice day but i was never cold. good winter gloves and a snood helped too

the ‘fist fight while hanging out of the helicopter’ looked a bit suspect in places, and so did the collapsing building at the beginning. and the modified london skyline… ive no problem with CGI tho.

i have one in my bag that i pop on my commuter if theres surface water on the road. they save your ass. wouldnt be worth the ridicule on the mtb…

£100 and an afternoon tinkering but you get to ride your fave ace bike all year! also cheaper than a winter hack if you havent already got one…

id be tempted to give that road jersey thing a go too, but i need hydration as no bottle cage. ive tried them bumbags with bottles and they are a nightmare when things get a bit steep and techy, swinging and bouncing about. and those big jobs with bladders just defeat the object?

yeah i carried one on my pocket (it has a little neoprene pouch too) and tossed it in the tray along with keys and phone etc. no problems.

I ride in several groups with varying skills. Sometimes I can be amongst the quicker lads others I’m firmly at the back. Only thing worse than holding someone up is being held up yourself! Usually works itself out.
