big fan myself. nowhere like it for a blow out week of debauchery!

only been on bloke ‘searching the for american dream..’ type trips so never seen a show, eaten anywhere fancy, been on any excursions or anything at all really apart from casino tables, clubs, bars and parties… so would like to maybe go again with the mrs to see that side of things.

not a big gambler either but love playing craps on a busy table with hyper yanks from all over the country – can lose days in there!

great place! with a pinch of salt.

i refuse to shit in my own time, unless maybe at weekends. for this reason ill not be bothering the record attempts as prolonged visits wont go un-noticed at work. plus the fact i have to use the disabled bog on the disused floor of an office block across the road for fear of encountering another human in our own bogs entering or exiting the traps, or worse having to hear them squeeze, fart and splatter – as this uses up valuable throne time.

excellent weekend. Woodclose Park is really nice. kids liked the wild rabbits knocking about and the Alpacas in the field. Pods spot on, just like the ones at Glentress with seating that folds into a bed, has a light, fridge and kettle. fire pits and picnic benches outside each one. Kirkby L has all the amenities you need, i packed way too much stuff. if we went back id just grab the duvets off the beds and thats it. you can hire a croc box from them for about a quid a day with all the cups and plates etc you need. get settled in then nip to the local booths for some supplies and instant bbq’s – or theres loads of pubs to choose from. Grizedale etc in under 30 mins.

not sure id do it on my own again tho, 2 small kids and a dog! was hard work!

did it, took her for a spin on the fatbike. i could hear her laughing away when we got a bit of speed up! did get a few obtuse glances from folk tho, although that may have been the bike! even did a few small slopes up and down and a stretch of rough ground (old farm track). she’s too heavy to do any more than that but its nice that we can all go out on little family rides now!

A potter along a gentle cycle path, like a converted railway track

is exactly what i was thinking about..

i had to ask because ive never seen it done, and id hate to receive bollockings from worried mothers and bystanders on the trail…
but why would it be any less safe than if she was in a fixed child seat? its easier to lose control of the bike with all the excess weight on the back. plus she’d be in a helmet and it’d be totally off-road, and flat.

Jackpot Hedgehog! just booked two night at the ones at Wood Close Park.

These seem to be the same as the ones at Glentress ive stayed in before, at least they have a plug socket, heater & lights. dog friendly and really handy to get to! good price ‘all. many thanks.

all of the others mentioned were full, i did find one at Rydall Hall Christian centre (!?) that was very basic, i deliberated then when i decided to bite it had already gone too so im delighted with these… perhaps I should’ve searched Wigwams instead of Pods…

yeah reckon ive exhausted my search now but struggling for any availability pets or not. only really want saturday night but would pay for 2 if that was the minimum. thought about just letting the dog sleep in the car or even out on the deck in front of the pod but the only one ive found YHA Hawkshead wont even let them on the site. wondering whether to borrow my mates tent now? but that might be a bit much with just me and the bin lids – youngest is only 2. gone from a nice idea to a pain in the ass.. another option is to stay sunday night and throw the eldest a sicky from school – seeing as tho her mother is away…..

yeah still use mine for walking the dog or pulling the tag-along. we have some disused railways lines nr us that are now a network of wooded footpaths. not much fun on your super bling bouncy enduro bike but amazingly heaps of fun on the fatso! tbh i got it a bit late and missed most of the snow we had this year, it has been on the sand dunes of north wales a few times but well looking forward to the next snow!… love it.

well ive no idea who the broad is but was quite happy that a couple of Northerners were gonna take over but ive just found out Gene Hunt is a fraud! im still a fan of Guy Martin tho so be interesting to see how it works out.

I hadnt watched the old format for years because of them 3 cretinous tagnuts and their stupid scripted ‘banter’so cant really be any worse.

Morzine for the 3rd year in row. was hoping to do that Enduro2 but thats not happening. didnt really fancy Morzine again (not that i dont love it, just would prefer to try somewhere new) but some lads wanted to do PPDS so were on that with a couple days either side. we’ll have a van tho so can always move on somewhere else but ill probably spend one day revisiting some of the best trails we found last year, one day ppds, next day revisiting some of the best ppds trails from the day before and probably a day out&out DH bikepark stuff. just praying the rains stays away… last year was murder.

next year definitely gonna go for a whiteroom or similar experience! just struggle to garner interest amongst our lot with the expense and a full week away, but ill go alone if i have to…

I work contract and let a room in someone else’s house Mon-Fri which is usually only Mon-Thurs… If I could get a lodger in like me id be made up. Get in late most evenings, out the door before 6am. I don’t cook, I do use the kitchen to make butties but tend to eat out most nights, I shower at the gym and I take all my laundry home. £150 a week, easy money!

theres not much worse than those gurning jobsworth bastards and ticket barriers with the power to let you through, but wont! my trains there, its leaving in 10 seconds, ive got a connection to catch, and theres a guard on board who has the facility to sell me a ticket… but nopes

ive got a set of Zee brakes on my fatbike that squeal like mad. when i crashed and snapped a brake lever on my covert i nicked the zee for a few rides and amazingly, no squeal!? back on the fatbike and they’re screaming away again.
tried all sorts of magic potions and chemicals on my rotors but no joy??

La Esquina Mexican bar & restaurant in lower Manhattan/Little Italy. coolest place ive ever been to anyway!

its a grubby taco joint at street level, but if you have reservations in the restaurant a maitre d will collect you and whisk you off downstairs through back corridors and kitchens Goodfellas style into the main tequila lounge and dining area! proper.

ive just written off my RF narrow/wide, had it maybe 18 months. have ordered an e13 one this time. supposed to be the dogs from what a few industry bods have told me…. one thing tho, would it be advisable to change the cassette and chain at the same time? ive checked the chain wear and it does seem fine (althouh there are a few powerlinks in there due to snappages) but not sure how to tell if the cassette is shagged?

always use LCS meet & greet – costs about £40 for a week, not sure for a day. but they meet you at departures, eff off in your car then fetch it back to arrivals when you land.

I made a ghetto compressor earlier this year. I love it. Changed both my tyres today in no time! im not the most savvy home engineer so get such a buzz when I release the monkey grips and the tyres ping and pop into the rim!
The stans injector jobbie works a treat too!

I decided to go back to clipless recently. got some Time Atac pedals and a pair of Giro Chambers. the shoes are absolutely great, really solid but comfortable and relatively light. pedals are shit.
