dont be put off Scott, its a still great event and place to race. there will be a good atmosphere, you’ll meet some good people and ride ace tracks – just dont camp in Bacup!

im in. no official word yet but from various rumors and facebook posts ive deciphered its a 22 mile loop with 6 stages (although theres a problem with one of the stages as theres no access for medical vehicle so may be dropped) S1 is in Lee itself, 2 is the one in doubt over the moors, 3 is the hand built local track from last year nr Whitworth, 4 & 5 are the two reds at Cock Hill and then back to Lee for S6.

theres a misconception about Tequila. most of us have had bad experiences of the rancid shit they gave you shots of back in the day which have stayed with us. but a good one can be really nice and smooth.. and a proper margarita is mega!

we are there in a few weeks too, few days DH culminating with the PPDS.

last year we had biblical rains, ended up giving 50 donkers for a plastic boiler suit to ride in! so it might be worth packing one this time. be worth it if you dont have to use it!

my first time i was panicked in to taking loads of spare pads, tubes, hangers etc. but everything is readily available and never noticed that much of a price hike…

get a guide (dont pay for one) just see if you can tag along with a local or regular who can show you some of the off-piste stuff, especially under super-morzine & down to Montriond. puts you in good stead for next time!

ive worked in the city, if it was my birthday, my leaving, my baby’s head wetting.. i would be expected to invite everyone to the pub and pick up the tab. there was quite often someone else celebrating something on the same day so you could go halfs but yeah, quite often had £200 bar bills – on a lunchtime! but as already mentioned, you would pretty much drink for free the rest of the year because it would be someone elses turn!
