Been thinking about forks and think careful wet and dry work followed by a 2 pack spray job might be best way forward.

    Anyone done there fork legs?

Would be good if I could make my fox 36 lowers satin black rather than poo brown.
Crowns as well for that matter.

Manchester or Leeds location would be good also?

So glad I got off the motorway…

Also glad I didn’t actually crash or run anyone over while rubbernecking to spot what was going on.

Hope that it didn’t take that many people to film a moon though?

    Ah,

Now that explains why he looked familiar.

It also explains what looked like a film crew in the lay by opposite.
Did not make the link as there are so many other grizzly reasons for film crews and police to be up on t’ moors.

Still won’t be allowed one though.

This guy last night had a very fine example. No way you could just shave it off. Would need at least clippers if not sheep shears.

Wife won’t let me grow one… Have to agree with baldness as it is I would look odd.

But can handle odd for performance gains.

I would stay away from decathlon if you are really keen and intend to use it allot.

Spending a bit more will mean you only have to buy once.

Have a look on Magic seaweed (they have a surf forum as well) often have good sales.

If you are using it on the coast pay a visit to a specialist shop and try some on. Fit is the really important thing as tons of water sloshing around wont keep you warm nor will to tight and a good shop will help you with this.

Also check second skin and snug if you want to buy British. You can also get there suits repaired instead of having to buy a new one.

Could also try tapping it into the frame. Probably seized due to some kind of battery effect so tapping in might break seal?

    jackoinmoss

Take it to a frame builder who can reeme it out?

    How do you spell “ream”

    Post will get it though

With Steel frame you can upside down it and pore caustic soda in to dissolve away enough alloy to loosen. Don’t know about Ti though?

    Am starting tyre club:

Only riders who have same tyres on a given evening can join.
Oh and the valves have to be lines up with the logo.

Will be issuing rules of what tyres for what condition and night of the week periodically.

I suspect this will ensure the size of the group never grows above the three regulars.

More rules to follow but rule number one is no asking “What tyres for…….?” on this forum.

Lewin shirts are fine you just need to get the 4 for £100 or get an online voucher.

Has anyone tried the online shirt tailer? or is that tailor?

Simon carter seem ok as well.

Wife has a VFR800 and has no problems she is 5’6″ ish

Going to hang on to bullit I think and use parts from hardtail to build a more xc 4-5″ kind of bike. rather than trying to get on bike to do it all.

plugs for your for sale items welcome.

To heavy. It is a no go.

Back to ebay to find an alternative.

If I don’t find one before June I will buy a Mega.

    Going off the idea,

2007 bullit with with coil totems is just a bit to much bike.

Probably should buy a five but kind of wanted something different.
If I had bought the Heckler in the first place would probably still want a change by now but I think it would have matched my ability a bit better.

Other plans involve a Nuke proof mega.

    Alex.

Yes that is what I thought.

not that hung up on weight as long as it is a bit lighter.

Manufacturers often seem to make up weights though or weigh while helium balloons are attached.

    Just wanted to make sure.

    Thanks Jimjam.

    Why so heavy though?

The frame is a pound lighter than bullit.
Forks would be a pound lighter.

Was hoping it could be built under 35lb?

Think I would want the 17″ will have to keep my eye out as there don’t seem to be many for sale.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

I searched google and found an extract by a doctor named after a special lady wig

    Cycling Cadence

It seems (not just from his article) that spinning away sat down might be the most efficient way to get up hills? I sure hope so because I am not very good at dancing around on the pedals.

Why do so many of you seem to think you need to buy stuff to get better at doing the stuff you already have all the equipment for?

Having swapped bikes with a buddy at the weekend to ride the bike I feel I need he beat me up the hill on the bike I have and told me how much he liked it.

Eat well train harder and save money.

NB: it is ok to spend money on shiny bike stuff just admit that it is mostly because you want to not because it will make you better.

Now sat waiting for all the fixie single speed types to tell me I am wrong and how they have become better.

    cookea,

I can’t ride a horse and it would take me about 5 years to get to a similar standard.

Just seemed like a compromise us going along the same trails rather than just heading off in different directions on a Sunday morning.

Thanks for the the unusually sensible replies.

Have Discussed with the Wife and Got the oh he isn’t scared of bikes it will be fine response.

I was still a bit unsure but think we have a go and see how we get on.

    Thanks Nick,

Good point battery might be old. Car isn’t however so if as you quite correctly say it could be past it they should replace it.
Sounds more like a made up reason to me though. The point is I should not have to be getting under the bonet of a 12 month old car the day after it was serviced to fix this kind of thing.

Knob is stiff. It is very difficult to turn. When the car was new it turned easily. Like a headset might be after six months turbo trainer duty.

They should IMHO order the parts they feel might be required. Do job in a day, and if required return the parts not required. The VW specialist I use seems to be able to get parts on about an hours notice?

    The bolts have seized.

Best take it to a mechanic.

Do they propose you scrap the car as they cant undo some bolts?

    Correction.

My wife bought an Italian car. I blame top gear!

Mechanics that reduced me to low standard ranting are from Yorkshire.

Do they get special training in Italy?

So if I get lice I should put my head in a plastic bag for 2 weeks.

Best use a clear one or I will bump into stuff.

2 hour induction course £40 hmm sounds like a blag.

You wont take more than a day to do your CBT unless you are a bit special. I am guessing you can ride a pedal bike being on here so imagine you will be fine.

If you are serious about bikes and given the money you are spending it sounds like you are you could put that £40 to your 1st helmet.

Watch a you tube video or read a book if you are worried, but 125’s are just like mountain bikes you don’t need to pedal.

The walker seemed local (as most people in the area do) I wonder if there is an issue with not rocking the boat.

My simple solution is to take the bridleway before and cut out 200m or so of not so exciting riding.

I can’t help thinking this was the intention of the farmer. But there were a field full of horses behind the house so I would of thought it a good thing to ensure good equestrian access.

As for “children’s faces” that seems like of a bit Daily mail thing to say but I see your point.

Do you honestly think the police will care?
Would the RSPCA be a better contact?
