Yeah struggling to get some at the moment, had no response from Slik Graphics and someone on SDH forum had a Solid 9 for sale which came with loads of extra graphics but he didn't respond to his email either!

Not that I have a voodoo but my current HT (Dialled Love/Hate) recommends an 80 – 100mm travel fork however I run a u-turn Recon fork and mainly ride about 110 / 115 and up it a little if messing around or riding mainly descents, it handles much better than on 100 which just seems too little and the frame wants to be riden like it's got more travel!

My best mate used to own and run a bike shop.
Used to be in the centre of town and we'd often go down around 5 ish and tinker with our bikes ready to go out for a ride, a few times though we never actually got riding as there was always beer in the back of the shop and we ended up getting drunk and then headed off to the local bars and clubs! (after doing drunk wheelies outside the shop). As we would have our riding gear and no going out clothes he'd let us wear clothes from the shop (he sold casual clothes) as long as we didn't mark or damage them and he's hang them back up the next day for sale – although often we'd like the stuff so end up buying it!!

    Love IT!

Mate of mine had a Kona Stinky resparyed in pink and had custom graphics made up so it was a Kona Pinky – looked awesome!

Personally I'd be more worried about having bar ends on riser bars than pink bits on my bike 😉

I was involved in an RTA last year and the police arrived at the scene, from what I recall he got my policy number for me (from my reg and details) and gave it to the other guy and did the same for him and gave it to me (remember his hand writing was rubbish and was hard to read). Anyway about a week later I had a letter from his insurance company which listed his full details.
The Police officer did it secretly on little slips of paper and then the insurance company gives me all his details!

I am surprised they wouldn't give you his name and insurance details as surely that would save them hassle and what should be exchanged at the scene of an accident.

I have a 180mm Vibe on the front and a 160mm Vibe on the back, works fine and very pleased with them.

I want to buy another for my SS and upgrade the brake from 160 to 180 so if I'd buy another then can't really say more than that!

Also although our bikes are expensive, if it was another car she hit, by the time the body shop has done repairs, resprayed etc. it would cost alot more than a new frame, rear wheel and disc brake!!
Don't be kind in thinking it's OK, it's be alright because if in 6 months it develops a crack, the insurance company won't be kind in replacing the frame then!

+1 to the attempted break in, scare owner into thinking the van isn't safe!

We live in a small court yard and the lane we use to access the court has recently become over parked with people parking on the corner and right on the junction onto the main road.

We got the council to paint lines to stop people parking as it was causing a hazzard and was dangerous but they still parked there and the council didn't want to know.

It got to the point where a note was superglued to a windscreen telling them not to park there and then someone did a flyer door drop telling everyone the police were now involved as the car had been vandilised (glue on windscreen) and anyone caught would be charged!

Go careful with the vandilising as you could end up worse off

I emailed Slikgraphics weeks ago and even attached some rough ideas with what I had in mind and have nothing back from them at all!

A mate ordered some from ebay, guy in poland or somewhere, got them within a few days and they are really high quality.

That is sweet, when I was a young lad, I had this crappy bmx which my dad stripped, sprayed proper aluminous(?) yellow, did everything else matt black (including the mag wheels) and it was the bees knees!

It is true that the future will hold lots of things that we wouldn't think possible now.

Things like computer based implants, we are the computer and it's controlled from thought, music played directly into our ears from our built in wireless network connection, vast memory storage in our brains, no need for power as it uses our own energy source!

You wait the Matrix will be reality 😉

TF Tuned shox, send them the dimensions of the ones you got and they'll send you new ones, just got to knock the old ones out (or pull them out by hand).

Cos it is one of the only 'burly' full sus frames that can be run single speed which got me thinking about changing my geared full sus, had to work a saturday so started looking on ads, found a second hand one, couple of emails later and it arrived on the Thursday!

Would installing a headset with a deeper insert into the frame help spread the strain across the head tube as well?

I think you are right Roper, from the description and considering they were in a dark, light free environment they fit the bill!!

Just had the go ahead to do the cabling so the poor guy's gonna have to work down there – think I might take some holiday 😆

    Yeah he did jump!!

Luckily we were just looking (following some cables that was going down some pipes) and didn't have to go down or in the holes!!
If I did I think I would of got a flame thrower or something first 😀

Molly, she’s sweet and gentle but also the one that catches everything!

Felix, he is a typical ‘Felix the cat’, very cheeky and always up to something! Bullies his sister but looks after her when she needs it!

I work in a private school!!

Certainly at our school a lot of things are charged extra and can mount up to quite a lot extra depending on what they do etc. Our school is a boarding school as well so extra activities are organised which are available for day pupils as well and after school clubs like Judo, fencing, horse riding are all extra costs.

Most schools though are happy to give you a tour of the school and an outline of costs. Just have a list of questions you want to ask before going and make sure you get them answered.

I get staff discount but would have to work here for the entire school life of my children and as mentioned above, if I ever had to take them out and send them to a state school they would be bullied for sure so you really have to commit to the long haul of it all.

One other thing to consider is the fact that private schools have longer days and some work saturdays and then have longer holidays. If your child went to a state school and you felt they weren’t getting enough, would it be cheaper for extra private tutition at home after school or on a saturday morning. They would benefit from 1-1 tutition without the possible extra costs of private school fees and still be doing the same as a normal private school day. Our lessons finish at 4 and then clubs and prep (homework time) is between 4-6. Day pupils finish anytime between 4 and 6 depending on age, clubs etc.

The last option which a lot of people do is spend the extra money on moving to an area that has a better state school and get in the catchment area.

If you want more details let me know and i’ll email you.

First year I paid for the letter, french person checks the letter and puts a tick in the box when you register and get your race number.
Second year I copied the letter and put false details on it and same happened again, French lady ticked the box and good to go.
As long as no one in your family try and sue them if you crash and burn you’ll be OK with a letter from Dr Jones.
Do a search online and loads of forums even have copies of letters you can use 😉

Have fun, done it for the last 2 years but last year I had a ride in a helicopter on the Thursday and missed the race 🙁

Mrs Jackass wouldn’t settle all week if I went again this year.

Ride the sprint track after the sprint race when it’s quiet, do it at least once and see what a REAL DH track is like to ride!!

The flowly little track back down to the resort is so cool, always puts a bigger smile on your face after riding the alps all day and doing it till the lift stops.

Do the black run too that goes down to the bottom of the sprint track that follows and crosses over the river. GREAT fun!

Don’t get put off by the qualifying track the race is easier just longer.

Good luck to all those going!!

Our American friends went home the other week with their 4 month old boy and he was good as gold apparently. Cried during take off (due to the noise) and slept the rest. They had the front seats and had a clip on cot to put him in as well (provided by the air line).

You also need to consider if your frame and fork can take a 203mm rotor. Having a bigger disc may mean that the disc is to large and the frame hasn’t allowed the room so it may rub on the disc. The other issue is that the braking forces on a 203mm rotor could be to much for your disc mount and cause damage to the frame or forks.

Most people run 203 / 180 up front and 180 / 160 on the back.

    I feel your pain!!

Trying to cook breakfast and hot oil and fingers don’t mix!!
Didn’t take too long to heal, about 2 weeks till I could hold the bar properly, just stung when the gloves got sweaty!!

Proper dressing should heal that pretty quickly (hopefully).

My Mates brother went of the rails when he was in his late teens and got into drugs. His mum found a load hidden in his bedroom and his Dad flushed them down the toilet. Luckily he was an ex para and someone you wouldn’t mess with. The drug dealer came round for his drugs and as the Dad opened the front door he put the drug dealer on the floor with one punch before he could do or say anything. Later he came back with loads of his mates. The Dad went outside, walked up to the biggest lad who was there and put him on the floor again with one punch. He then turned to the drug dealer and all the mates and said ‘who’s next’, they all legged off and the lad on the floor eventually got up and legged it as well. They never got ANY more trouble after that. Although I don’t condone violence, sometimes these thuggish youths only understand violence!!

There was a time when the police wouldn’t think twice about giving these youths a quick wack and send them on their way. I sometimes think those times are needed again.

My wife had this with a guy that used to come into her work. Sometimes he couldn’t even stand up straight! She called the police and they didn’t do anything! Happened on a regular basis and she was able to give pretty good predicitions as to when he would be in next but nothing!
At least she had done her bit! I think in the end her work stopped him from coming in hoping he wouldn’t drive if he didn’t have to!

I stopped on a lap and helped 2 ladies who were stuck with no pump (although they had a spare tube) and had a puncture.

So many people just rode past without asking if they needed help.

I swapped the tube and used one of my co2 cartridges and fixed it for them in about 2 mins. Made their day and I rode off feeling good for helping them. People forget it is for charity and charity is helping those in need!

My wife never put the front door on the catch properly one morning after letting the cats out, our postie came around and put the post through the letter box at the same time Mrs Jackass nipped down stairs to get her underwear that was drying in the conservatory. Yep front door swung open as he pushed the post through to the lovely sight of Mrs Jackass in her birthday suit. Not sure who was more shocked!!

Always had our post on time ever since!!
