I've had no problems at all with mine, worth far more than it cost and if I actually managed to break it I'd bin it and buy another one.

Did it on the old tinbred right up until the max limit on the seat with no issues at all – curious as to why you think it would ruin the benefits of Ti? I never noticed it.

Now got a steel 456 for baby carrying duties for daughter no.2 – would love a Ti one though!

25 miles to the trails, 2 hours each way? Crikey

….and what they said – Rebas are ace or MX comps

Midges – you’ll need a MTB stem which suited me as I use Hope lights, they take a road-lever brake clamp too.

I like them – I normally ride on the hoods so the drops offer a bit more control when you need it – wouldn’t say there’s a great deal of room on the drops though.

Prince Charles turns up to an opening ceremony in Newcastle, smartly attired but wearing a jaunty Davy Crockett style hat, which he kept on throughout the day.

Upon leaving the mayor of Newcastle thanked him for coming, but curiosity made him ask why he’d wore a Davy Crockett style hat.

He said he’d told his Mother he was going to Newcastle, to which she replied ” Newcastle? Wear the Fox Hat!”

Not an RFX, but had a six-pack. Far too much bike for my local riding and couldn’t justify keeping it for the one or two trips a year where it would get used, but I wish I’d kept it. Absolutely bombproof 🙂

The Voodoo Bizango’s nice, 853, designed for a 100mm fork and rides a lot like Kona’s did when they were good. I bought one second hand but it was too big for me – I think sideways had some on offer?

    1988/89?

My Dad bought it for me, and got a 21″, plenty of room for a young lad to grow into….I can barely stand astride it now!

I’ve used Ergon jobbies for a while, quite like having something to hook the thumb in when really going for it. Also nice to have some different positions for your hands. I don’t think they look horrendous, but it’s function over form for me everytime anyway.

messy garage, tyre logo’s, rusty chain – ohh the shame, poor photo, but gives you an idea what the colour’s like 🙂

Great VFM – like the zip-tie brake guides, makes it easier to build up, and the routing under the TT is neater, and the seatpost slot faces forwards, and there’s loads of tyre clearance. Just really well thought out and suits Revs perfectly.

If you can find a good deal, from what I’ve found fixed deals over a decent term, say 5 years are at about 5% and require a 40% deposit plus a grand to set them up.

Not that a bike forum is a good place to get financial advice 🙂 but I’m holding out for fixed deals to get a bit cheaper, esp as there’s another IR decision tomorrow.

What jason said….or a long screw driver with a small bit of wood up the bottom of the steerer tube and a gentle tap….have always found the rubber washer around the outside gives a bit too much grip for getting it in and out and it seems to work fine without it.

Some excellent reading up there, and good debate.

I accept the fact that it’s just creative marketing in a pseudo-green ethos sorta way to make very wealthy people feel a little bit better about buying a pair of jeans that they probably didn’t ‘need’ in the first place.

Always have a butchers in their sale, and seem to somehow end up with several fairly hefty catalogues kicking about the house, even though I browse and order online, but again it’s recycled paper so my conscience is suitably soothed.

Why don’t they just make the clothes in the UK anyway (topical), and save on the emissions of shipping denim halfway across the world. Then they could just pop in and see how they’re doing.

At least that might justify a £150 for a pair of jeans.

I’m not saying it’s feasible, pay/conditions/margins/ yadda yadda but if their customers are that concerened about carbon footprints….
