Takes a while to get into…but

    Can’t decide between these two….

The best of all of them 🙂

For a EDM / Trance type vibe, this is nuts…

Horrible story line (as a cyclist) But also a great story….

    Rude and cheesy, but fun….

Yeah, the higher up ones looks more “ridable”, no ropes or camera tricks were used in the original photo 🙂

God knows how I managed to carry a 23″ Raleigh Maverick up there!!!

I’m trying to find the original photos as it will save me having to go back up there…LOL

Now is there a way up to the Cantilever by bike???

Being a Southerner, it was hard as a kid to choose what music to follow, Metal, pop, rock, dance rave etc….
So we just went to what ever was on each weekend.
About the only one that sticks in my memory is Slo Moshun, Bells of New York 🙂
Then I moved to Holland and forgot everything!!! LOL

I’m 175cm and went for the large. They have quite a good stand over and the reach is quite short.
I came from a large Ibis Ripmo V1 which is slightly higher and shorter.Look closely at the spec sheets.

I’m guessing you can’t get down to the Surrey Hills showroom for a test ride ($15 for 1/2 day hire) or check if they have any more demo days up FOD etc?

Just returned from 2 trips to Wales so not passing Bristol for a while now, Hope someone local will let you have a sit/short ride.

    Go for it!
It’s not like Screwfix is a top job or fun….
Just don’t leave in a ball of flames in case you need to go back anytime.

Remember to make sure you get enough days off and holiday so we can get away again this year 🙂

    Cant embed so…

    Coming down the Gap
    We went over those hills....

Hopefully I’ve attached a few pic’s from our trip, was great to get out in some new (old) areas after so long only riding locally (Sussex + Surrey).
After having heart surgery my fitness was lacking even more compared to singletrackmind’s, plus my extra 20kg of body…..But having 150/160mm of suspension on my Ripmo helped keep some balance on the way back down 🙂

Cwmcarn was a nice ride and def want to get back and ride the other bits we skipped this time around.

My 1st time to BPW (I know!) and loved it, especially the blues which we did 10 runs on. I tried to ‘push’ myself a bit more and went for a red (Insufficient Funds) and predictably failed and hurt my already damaged shoulder.

At least doing the gap the next day was nice and gentle on the upper body!
We went a fair way up the tramline, but should have stayed closer to the reservoir, looking back on it later we could have carried on and crossed a peak and then re-joined the route, but were were playing it safe. Next time!

Shame about FOD red, was very natural for sure but having spent 5 years clearing my local trails, we both ended up wishing we had brought tools out with us to clear some of the mess…
    the Blue was great fun.
I have done some stuff over Mallards Pike but we didn’t want to do “Winch / Plummet” type stuff (That’s what my e-bike is for) and wanted to keep the flow XC feel. Plus they were advising to avoid the area due to forestry works / tree disease.

I know what’s on the Xmas list this year…..A dropper for Singletrackmind!

Anyone ever suffered a complete ‘blackout’???

I have the 1000 version and after about 1:30 riding tonight (mix of high and med brightness) it just switched off whilst in med. It happened twice in about 2 mins, was then OK for the next 20 mins on low to get home……Still had 3 green Leds on high, so plenty of power.
I’m guessing it’s the thermal cutoff, but it was -1c, mounted upside down if that matters.

    Thanks for the replies….
It’s hard to resist the N+1 lure of a titanium gravel bike with GRX for £2k……

PND – Those mullet setups look great.
Hudders – Garbaruk cage would solve anyone going for a 1x system… 🙂

If I go for it I will try the smaller front rings (30/46) with a 10-42 cassette on the standard GRX kit and test my power.
Or by a lighter 29er frame than my Scandal…..

I will also have to start doing squats carrying sandbags or small children to build up my legs…Lol

Would go 105 route as I have 1/2 the parts spare from the old bike, but no clutch +34T max is the issue and road shifter’s don’t work with MTB mech’s 🙁

1x is an option but to get off road gears would limit the top end use if I fit thinner tires without a ring/chain/wheel swap each time.
+ GRX cranks only go down to a 40T and a cassette of 42T max…still not in the MTB range

Been to the cop-shop, incident reported and the cogs will start turning…slowly. The driver will just have to take the luck of the system, sorry chap.

I already e-mailed the bus insurance company Friday morning, no reply and left message by phone Friday PM. Will carry on when they go back to work…..I requested CCTV footage.

Awaiting call back from Leigh Day as well when they return to their desks on Monday.

Watching my own video was a shock, more so than the crash it’s self, as the driver had plenty of time before and during to see me or even remember I was in front only a few moments before. + i could actually see the bus coming straight at me, which I could only ‘feel’ at the time.

Cycliq cameras front and rear for the footage.

Not on a plane yet, but might be taking a long slow walk to the airport rather than trying to go to work as 1 side of my body is beat up. Might drag the turbo trainer out for a few gentle miles.
Will soon be sat on a beach getting a scabby patterned tan.

Not currently after personal damages, I was able to drive to work today (bloody traffic) but was sent home by the boss to rest.

Bike is at LBS for an estimate to replace.
Evans shopping basket is up to 500 quid in clothing and helmet replacements.

I see that Wiggle offer a ‘No win No fee’ service, will call 1st thing in morning.

Not sure I want to prosecute the driver, even if he was definitely in the wrong as i know how much of an impact that could have on his career/life. BUT it would be good to know that the company do something to help him and all the other drivers to learn from this.

I swear at every bus, lorry, Audi….etc that gets to close or is a Co*k, but I have been on the other end once and I know it can ruin lives if not dealt with in a good manner.

Well MIP’S Probably saved me from a lot worse on Monday.
Out in Surrey hills, 25mph ‘ish’ straight in to a tree just after peeling off a fire road in to the single track.
    BANG!
Bike went one way I went the other after headbutting the tree. Had the normal cuts and bruises to knees, shoulders, elbows, which have now turned a nice shade or Yellow 🙂 (XC rider so no pads).
Head was fine, a slightly sore neck, but no worse than sleeping with a cat on your head.
When i went to put the helmet back on to ride home, the MIPS was all twisted and caught in the vents of the helmet….. Done its job I’d say, Thank you very much.
Any new helmets will be MIPs for sure, and also might get some pads 🙂

Now if only my wrist could get some protection I wouldn’t need this brace and would be able to pick up my beer, or ride my damn bike soon!

My DIY version has been on for 2 years, lost the front section (so off to buy a tub of chocolates) and the difference is very noticeable when wet or muddy. I could feel the chain being rough or ‘noisy’ with in a few meters off road, now its much better.
I’m sure it has nothing to do with riding with Geoff Apps pictured above 30 years ago…..

For me it has to be 1 artist but 2 versions of the same songs…
1st is all pop and dance style, great for cycling to 🙂
2nd is an acoustic set of mostly the same songs.
Not to bad for a bunch of disc jockeys…..
