Oh dear, let me get this right…..you were sold on the "excellent build quality", "boutique name"and a light but sturdy "precission aluminium unibody"

But now you find that when it comes down to it they are really quite overpriced and when things go wrong their warranty sucks.

Do you ride an Orange 5 ?

I demod one last year, thought it would be too much travel and not my thing……was very ver suprised at its climbing abilities, really good going up the rough stuff. Definately worth thinking about – go get a demo.

A really good insight from the West Coast and Highlands perspective from Pre Roman times to today (well 2000)…..thoroughly recommended.

Roads are all clear but still a good deal of well frozen snow on paths and fireroads.

Would expect the DH to be pretty clear in the trees – but with all the snow melt expect a mudbath.

–noun 1. harsh or bitter derision or irony.
    2. a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark: a review full of sarcasms.

The definition is quite clear….why would someone's nationality prevent them from uderstanding it…..stupid question

Aye – could be up for that -but only if there are lots of rivers to ford.

    We stayed here Boscoli Bellini

Right on the grand canal minutes from the station and easy walk to all the attractions. There's a roof terrace. Nothing fancy jsut a big balcony overlooking the canal….great to sit out with a bottle of wine and a chill, but a difficult to find so ask at reception.

Prices varied so try and shop about for a decent deal.

tesco do a metal track pump with guage for about £15 – they even sell it @ 50% off from time to time.

    Does the job !

Mine's down at Sainsburies right now. She's not locked up and does not have an alarm system fitted. I don't know what her serial number is so if anyone fancies running off with her I'll never be able to trace her.

you never know if they are being

….. stripped and rebuilt to look different from what was stolen

….. you could be onto a winner 😉

Why do Orange spec their bikes with such crap headsets? Upgraded both my 5 and evo to Hope and they're still running great. Cant fault them – recommended.

Just read your post….twice in Pitmeden I've been chased by an Alsatian. Once was pretty minor, once the fecker kept at me for the best part of a mile and took me of my bike, didnt actually bite me though.

Both times they were being walked by a couple, didnt really get much of a look at them. They were walking with two Alsatians one very dark almost black the other….that chased me looked like she was still pup. Slowed right up and gave them plenty of warning so i didnt startle to dogs too.

This was a while ago….probably Feb/March time, not seen them there recently though.

err anti-clockwise. Unless u fancy a bitch of a carry after fording the tilt.

Rode it last year paths are fine. Lost the path briefly on the SW of Carn Liath but not really an issue. Leave the land rover track @ 948 686 follow the path down and ford the stream……just hikey-bike to gain a couple of hundred feet up the hill, you'll soon pick up a track and as you contour round the path gets more defined (it is a definate path and quite nice single track wehn dry)

Dunno if it would be easier to take the track to shinigag and try and follow it round from there….doubt it.

But really the best way to do Glen Tilt is from the Linn of Dee but better do it sometime soon as all that nice naturalistic single track is slowly morphing into the manmade footpath complete with drainage gulleys

Yeah – stayed there for 3 nights back in June. Would thoroughly recommend it to any bikers going to Afan etc. Good facilities – OK not the plushest – but has everything u need and more with no extra charges.

Reallly, really friendly with "pitch up anywhere u like" attitude,. Happy for you to have bar-b's and camp fires so long as u use one of their half kegs to put the fire in. Good hose for washing down the bikes and suitably out of town to be safe and give u a nice rural feel.

There were a few midges, so take some "skin so soft" 🙂

Dont think u will do much better.
