GW – I do next to no trail centre riding. The majority of what I ride is indeed natural Singletrack or walkers paths in the Highlands of Scotland. I fully accept that I do cause erosion, I fully accept that I probably cause more erosion than an individual walker.

What I object to is people using these built paths and causing excessive erosion. This gives mountain bikers a bad name and I would hate to see any of the large landowners, parks and trusts take a negative stance on mountainbikers due to people damaging made paths unnecessarily.

By all means ride these paths, but do it in a responsible manner.

By Ciaran path are you talking about the loop in KW’s book that goes up via Kinlochmore Lodge ? Or are you just wanting to ride the path down form the dam to Kinlochleven ?

If you just want to ride the path then there’s a Land Rover track up from the village on the south side of the glen.

No its more likely WE wont be there in a couple of years. When the landowners get pi55ed at repairing the very expensive paths, I could well see them putting up anti MTB gates or even requesting that access is denied to MTBers.

A: Hi 🙂 Hahahah, the bike far less maintenance than me! I do stay on top of the pivots for the rear suspension before every ride, though! Just to make sure, I don’t get stuck out on the trail, trying to fix something that is mechanically way “over my head!”

What the hell is it with all these people who do things differently from me? I just can’t understand why they’d do that, surely they must realise that my way is better? My god, I’ve been riding since the late Jurassic and back in my day you’d never see things like this.
I saw a group of people just last week doing things in a slightly different manner to the way I’d have done it. I resisted the urge to go over and [ask them to stop it | tell them off | own them with bombers | piss in their shoes] (delete where applicable) because whilst I can talk the talk here on the Internet, I’m actually a drink of water and terrified of confrontation in real life.
I can’t believe that in this day and age, people still do things like this. It makes me feel so angry, hopefully by posting here you’ll all either boost my ego by agreeing with me, or change your foolish ways immediately.
So in summary people who post chat in the bike forum, what a bunch of barstewards eh?

Incidentally, whilst we’re on the subject, what is it with people who post chat in the bike forum? Fair weather golfers, MTFU !

Loch an Duin trail is nice but short and a long haul to get there. Seemed to recall my mate almost killing himself on the landrover tracks into Dalnacardoch. Floods had washed the track clean away, Come round a corner only for the track disappearing with a 10 foot sheer drop into a stoney river bed.

Base Jumping drop offs.

Call them and ask.
In the past I had probes where orders were shipped but items were missing because they were out of stock. Can be annoying. The last couple of times i used them i marked my orders with instructions not to ship unless order is complete.
